Blogs are helpful if you want to share development process or needing feedback from other people. It's pretty good IMHO for indie gamedevs like us who aren't really pro or whatsoever. I found that people enjoy looking at progress and getting Inspired (this is what I do when I check blogs) since one's work ethic can also influence another.

Battlers. Lots of em.
A crazy day of bug testing. Literally, quite literally...a DAY of bug testing. Me and my friend have been playing the game since this morning, and I am still fixing bugs every 5 minutes.
MRI machines believe it or not. The manufacturer needs a GUI / user friendly interface for all the med technicians. I start tomorrow. Now I've probably jinxed it. It seems like a frill they don't really need, but hey whatever.

Oh man Kyrsty, I love your work and its so much better than mine, but the reference is better in this case. It isn't so much the pixel work, but the fact that the dragon is holding its head differently. The reference dragon looks imposing, but yours looks a bit... derp?

The right wing is also lacking in structure-- he doesn't look like he could fly with that one.

...Unless your idea was to make a derp looking dragon. In that case, you've succeeded. =D?

Heeeey, that's actually a nice idea. You should post it on the "innovative ideas in games" topic! Or wait to you finish it, and scoop up some Misaos for Most Original Concept? (Do we have that as a Misao? We should!)

Ruby Dragon's flightless in the original anyway. And I don't really mind if the dragon looks derpy, really; it gives it my own little spin. You can tell I drew it rather than traced.

*makes it say herp derp after it uses its Breath attack*
What am I working on? My second and third SMBX games. Though one of them is on hold until I actually get feedback on my first one. I am learning a lot about editing NPC's in the meantime. The limited number of bosses in that program can be very, well, limiting.

Alright, thanks for the tip. And it has some kind of concept of being criminal of some sorts, just make it abit of a rowdy punk game. You play a guy stuck in the dumps of a nameless city, in a world like earth, but isn't. Doesn't really matter that much to the story. He was betrayed by the mayor the city itself, and he's out to work his way to the top, so getting rich isn't gonna be easy.

If I get some ideas of jobs, where you get paid big money, and own a small apartment. I would say this is gonna be some kind of sim game.

I might scrap the rm2k3 battle system for the choice system, so you will have to choose if your gonna rob someone or not, and either think it's a good idea, based on the INT you have in hte status, if your 1 INT, well you best joking right?, your dead. You start off with some measly 1 HP.

But if you do some good deeds, you may recieve a couple of hp or just one hp, or more, depending on high the job level is, of course recieve money, but seeing that your gonna have to beg for it, by encounter people, some won't be trusted, some are gonna be bad, some good samartians like someone like a priest. Become a baddie or not?, and live the life of crime, though some conquences with the law or rival gangs, that's your choice.

At the start you have a four class choice, one is locked out, just for the demo.

First one anyway, pickpocket (Much easier to get cash from wandering civillians, but seeing as start off with 1 INT points, bad idea, but you can try, they might try to follow you and catch you. game over. So it's better off doing some good deeds to score some money. Begging is the main idea though. With like 1 or 4 cash you can by food from stores. But some customers would be scared off in stores making the owner pissed off, and he'll kick you out.

Gonna have to work that idea off by means of not going near any civillians in stores by using the movement system where if you bump into anyone, until your ready to get a job sometime down the track, your likely accepted and not scare people off.

But pickpocketing is optional anyway, but recommend when possible, in more INT points.

I'll see what I can work out.

I'm learning how to parallax map in VX, using the steampunk tiles. Soon, the first town in my game can be what I really wanted it to look like, yay!

(after revamping it every so often for...months, argh)
kyrsty it's good, but i agree that the face is wrong and also the horns are a bit off. do you see how they bend inward at the ends and start as two parallel horns running along the top of the head? that's key for a menacing shape.

Eh..... No, no. I should shut up...

Anyways, since I have so many big ideas for my game Everyman, and I have no clue how to implement them, I thought I should put it on hiatus for a while and work on a simpler project to get to know Unity and how it works with javascript. Thought I would make an AA fangame with it. ^_^
Working on my last mob lair (for the nether faction) ..then tutorials for the intro :o

Artillery battle system

Wind is implemented, both horizontally and vertically, from a scale of -5 to 5! They affect acceleration, like most other artillery games.
There's also bonus damage if the projectile has higher velocity, (such as having a high angle shot to maximize downward deceleration), so yeah, still experimenting. (Damage is working, but i'm using print commands atm, and i'm not factoring defense yet since tanks don't exist!)
