LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

The ones on the upper level, yeah. Every single flower being different, combined with giant blocks of flowers, is a really weird effect.
@Craze Everything is so dark! Usually it's bearable in the game screen, but you can barely see the enemies that you're targetting. :I I'd recommend toning down the lighting quite a lot. I made the same mistake on my game, and Fomar gave it a scathing review for being too dark and confusing. Which it was. And it was better lit than your current screenshots suggest. :I Just giving you a heads up.
@benny - I can see Craze's screens pretty well. Maybe check your screen settings? They might need brightening up.
@Detective - might I suggest some long grass instead of over-abundance of flowers? Having flowers is a good thing but too much of a good thing can be bad for you. ^.^

@Liberty Ah frick it must have been my screen because they look fine now. That or he changed them somehow. I must be seeing things O_O
Edit: Yes, but other than that, reminds me of Geondun somewhat. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to more logical battles.
@Detective Yes, and mushrooms usually grow in darkness. The lack of shadows in the map is kind of jarring. Generally, the same type of flowers grow in the same place in my experience. Fields of daisies, fields of chrysanthemums. Idk, it seems like a whole bunch of different flowers in one place seems weird.

They told me I was mad when I said I was going to create a spidertable. Who’s laughing now!!!

I'm working on a game using all custom graphics. It's kind of a ripoff of Ib and Yume Nikki, based around exploring various worlds connected by a subway. So far, I just have these stations tiled:
(Please disregard the default sprite.)
I'm currently working on revising and adding to the tilesets (I realised I need to have a lot more texture on the "real world" subway, for one). Is there anything that's obviously in need of attention so far?

the only thing that really sticks out at me is that where the walls and floors meet in a few of those screenshots, they blend together a bit due to the similarity in colour and pattern. this is a pretty common thing, and approaches vary, but you might try making the ground a bit darker near where it meets the floor -- as if less light is reaching there from the ceiling, you know? it's not something I'm very experienced with handling, though, so it might not be the best solution.
besides that, it's looking good so far! graphical consistency is always the most important bit (though Ib and Yume Nikki are good examples of the fact that, like all rules, this can be bent or broken if you have a good reason), and the clean style here works pretty well.

Wow, yeah, I never even noticed that! Shouldn't be too hard to fix, just put in some dithering. Thanks!
Interesting idea, although I would love for the subways to be a bit more realistic.
Maybe that's not what you're going for?

what do you mean by realistic, in this case? just outta curiosity, since I've only been to subways in two different cities and can't spot what's unusual about this one (except the tongue).
I mean in the sense that they are all too "clean" and colorful to be taken as real subway stations. First picture is probably the closest to a real subway, but it's still to clinically clean, and it's not worn down like a real station (subway stations wear down really fast witht he amount of people that visit them each day). The colors are also too saturated to be realistic.
It's fine if realism is not the goal, I'm just saying.
Also, every single subway station I've ever been to had some sort of graffiti in them.

Yeah, I'm working on grittifying the first one up; it's supposed to be the "real world" and contrast against the weirdness of the other ones.
The main problem is that I started these, THEN I went and actually studied tutorials on pixel art, because putting the cart before the horse is always a great idea! :V
Along with adding textures, my plan of attack on the real world one is to put in some miscellaneous trash objects (papers, candy wrappers, etc.) just to make it look more used. Not sure yet whether I'll do something similar with the otherworldly ones, as part of the theme there is isolation and loneliness; there are things living there, but it's supposed to be rather alien.

Yeah, that was a nerdy reference. :D The Silent Hill series is one of my major influences. Great catch!

Haha I don't think I'll be making anything at that level of nice artistry or creepitude, but it's a level of storytelling and atmosphere I really aspire to.
Mention anything Silent Hill, and get a free instant erection from SnowOwl. Joking aside, the game looks cool and very trippy. Keep up the good work.

Is the thing in the middle of the stairs on that last one supposed to look like a giant tongue? If not you may want to create stair-steps in the tongue-shaped carpet (and then also make sure there aren't those little shadows on the part of the stairs touching the left side of the carpet, because they imply the carpet is raised up above the steps).

My body just reacts on its own.

That is a giant tongue, yes. (It's the body-themed world.)
Itaju, that is a cool effect!
