Part One Release

Hey all! It's been quite a while, but after being nudged by various folks over the years, I've decided to put out a release of Everlasting Journey. It contains Part One, and the opening chapter of Part Two.

It's certainly had problems, but I would consider what's at least in there now to be "complete" - with the exception of some existing rips I was honestly too tired to replace in my latest pass/playthrough. I'll be adding some guides for it, but here are some immediate things that come to mind:

1. Controller suppport - currently, it's just XInput, so any Xbox controller will work out of the box. Other controllers (PS4, etc) will need to be mapped using some other utility.

2. Achievements / Game Jolt Integration - Make a Game Jolt account & jot down your "Game Token". Hit Shift+Tab in-game, or hit the Guide button on the Xbox controller, sign in with your account name & token, and it should just work from there.

3. Treasure / Pots & Barrels - Treasure chests found are tallied by the end, pots & barrels are not.

I hope y'all can get some enjoyment out of it! It's been tested pretty thoroughly, but let me know if there's any weird bugs.

Pretty sure that's Guilmon.

I ended up being about level 40 by the end of this part.

This game is very well done, albeit short on some side quests. Most the game was the plot, while when I got the airship I finished the sidequests within a hour or two.

I'll see about making a review, if you would like for the game being this far up to date. I haven't done one for a game for a while, and wouldn't mind doing it again. Not like I'm known or anything. :)
Edit: Nevermind, I just fixed both the couch bug and the invalid image format bug. I'll have the fix shortly.

See my latest blog entry & redownload Ejourney_pt1_1.31.zip. Sorry for the inconvenience!
As I came back to the Borlund Mountains (is that what they are called, right? Can't remember), I went down to the side quest area down there. When I met Phillip in the last room with the gold, a fight started but all I got as the fight started up was "inavlid image format."

Obviously this is a invaild image or something. I can't get Phillip back without it either. Will you see into this?
Im sorry if this has been pointed out by now but, when the flobos help you escape, and right before they ask you to clear out the guards, i walked into the left couch on the bottom and you get stuck walking on that and the table. No biggy but figured id let you no.
I actually kind of wanted the Elites fight to be that difficult, haha. It's like the first big pivotal fight of the game, so I wanted players to work at it. If that means Floo dying once or twice, so be it!

I'm gonna replay that part and see if there's a better way to beat them than spamming Ice Scrolls. I feel like I approached that fight differently the many times I've played it. There's a Chest in Firam (town) that you can pick up that contains Firam Armor I believe. If you picked that up before going into Firam Castle, you can equip Floo with it before fighting the Elites.
Only been playing this for the day, but I got up to the airship. I love the game so far. Registered just so I could post this...xD

I do say though, out of all the bosses, the *spoilers sorta* Elites you fight right after you get Sueto are so much harder than anything I fought in the game. It was overly difficult to beat them without the spam usage of scrolls. Maybe slow them down? I mean, I was overleveled by 3 levels and they still 1 shot Floo.

All in all, I've only experienced that, and a glitch where it says I've had low resources and it closes my game. Not sure if that's common or not in games from these programs, since I'm still new to the site. Only had it happen during the above boss, and the boss at the top of Dukem Tower.

I'll make sure to make a more detailed post about my feelings on the game when I beat it. :)
Thanks BareGamer!!

NicoB, I've been watching all of your LP videos. Great stuff!
Hey, I did a LT of the first 15 minutes of your game. Check it out here: http://rpgmaker.net/forums/topics/10470/

EDIT: I'll be doing the rest of the game as well. Keep checking back.
Completed the game.
The ending was like omg. You are gonna beat master of the wind record of six year development at this rate easily. But MOTW was a seriously awesome game so perhaps your shall be too in like 2017....Got another reason to live at least that long then.
Concerning the game itself. I have to admit I really liked though those few missed quests cuz I had no idea that Paul would be last fight damn.
Monsters were quite interesting with all the can t damage them part whcih forced people to change tactics with magic and so on. Though there sure was not enough mp
for such needs. On the other hand you saved the situation by creating party mp potions which combined with party hp were really making the whole thing easier. A little too easy but I won t complain. Few instant kills with bosses really pissed me. The biggest annoying fight was with those two castle elites and it was the only I lost. They both attacked the same target taking it out even with max hp. I sure felt overpowed and so many feathers wasted omg.
I think that making bullets missing insects was a good logical choice though it pissed me of at first.
Overally I hope you shall make another game.

That was a good game, quite hard at times!
Oh for further clarification, I think you need to hit enter near the empty table of the bar to enable the cutscene.

There should have been a line of dialogue that was basically like "let's grab a table..." That should have been your main clue. I'll make it a little more obvious in a future release.
