The fire always burns

Well, there hasn't been many posts here in a while. I find myself telling the members of Meridian Dance directly in the IRC channel recently. I've been thinking about it for a while, and I've decided to move all my projects to Meridian Dance and Dream.in.code. News won't be as often but the project won't slow down too much. Actually, having school and everything increases the speed slightly.

I suggest you subscribe to my Youtube account since I will also be posting videos of my other projects along with 20XX. Joining Dream.in.code is nice but not necessary, you can just read my project log there for updates (I think it has an RSS feed). You have choices~ Dream.in.code will often be the destination of my front-end and technical posts while Meridian Dance will contain more artistic and design posts.

Dream.in.code: http://www.dreamincode.net/
Meridian Dance: http://meridiandance.org/

My projects will slowly continue on. They will progress fast when I'm not playing Minecraft. Of course if you want to play Minecraft along with me you can IM me for me to start the server and give you the IP. IM is also a good way to ask me direct questions as well as the IRC channel for 20XX and Meridian Dance.

AIM: wolfcoder
Yahoo: umbracoder
MSN: wolfcoder (at) dreamincode.net

20XX Irc: irc.esper.net #20xx
Meridian Dance irc.esper.net #meridiandance

If you want to know the details of this decision, feel free to ask me directly personally (not here of course, I won't be here to read my inbox).

@WC : "pretty sure" but maybe not entirely sure? Anyways, hope you'll enjoy it more at Dreamincode and Meridian Dance, and thanks for 20XX and the explanations (which were not the least of your works here!).

Common sense
I -do- have to say this. This isn't the site's fault it doesn't interest you anymore. This is your own fault for joining this site in the first place, then deciding to "stop, pull out, and not call again". Sexual references FTW. You really shouldn't have joined if you get so easily uninterested about things.

"MORE COMMON SENSE"
The way you stated it on your one topic, makes it seem like this site isn't any good, and it is it's fault and maybe the other members, when it is 100% your fault for even coming on, and contributing like you have with this project. You really should've just looked away and not done a single thing, if you give up on sites so easily. It is sad, how many people leave sites, and act like it is other's faults, and the sites fault at that. More-so pathetic.

You've lost (not that it matters to you) any and all respect from me for this childish act. You had a little bit for the project, but that is all gone.

Someone leaves RMN for their own reasons: YOU ARE CHILDISH AND LOST ALL RESPECT FROM ME

Fuck you too, good sir.

I like how every time someone decides to leave RMN, there's this crowd of people who randomly hate on them. I just didn't feel like being here no more. If that's not good enough or for some reason you feel insulted, kiss my ass. Nice going, you sure contribute to a friendly environment here. Makes me miss being here.

People like you just make my day. If you don't want to be here, leave. Just like that. Simple, really. Don't keep coming back and stirring up the "fire."

I don't follow this... Why do you speak with the air of someone who has contributed a great deal to this community, when you have not? And why do you try to paint one's presence on RMN as a kind of a long-term commitment?

I don't believe that you have yet earned the right to patronize someone as you have tried now. Also, I find it funny that it is now a "fault" to contribute something. By your logic, no one should even try to sign up for RMN, because most incoming developers would have a very high chance of turning over.

This is not true, good fellow. The crowd of angry people only comes as a result of people deciding to leave RMN *and* posting a message claiming they also have decided that "RMN is not something good".

Anyway, good luck in your projects, current and future.

I just hate when people leave and use some reason and make it out to be some other fault other than their own. You may not have meant it that way, but it seemed to me, that is what it meant. Your stuff is good as fuck, but what you said...well how you decided to say it, was annoying and sounded like what I had mentioned.

Most people who leave sites, 9 times out of 10, normally say it is something up with whatever they are leaving. It's pretty common. Also pretty annoying.

Also leaving, and stop updating here, when it is normally just a push of a button, a few words, and another push of a button to update, shows laziness on your part. It may not interest you, but what about those who your project interests, that would rather just view the already made game page, instead of having to go onto another site they aren't even used to, to see updates? They can download it, and try to figure out the updates on their own, or go the extra mile and go on the other site. But you made it on here and up and decided to move somewhere else when I'm sure it is easy enough for you as it is, to still update here, as well as the other places you're going to.

Also really, you're making stuff for the people. Not really for yourself. That is what this whole genre of 'business' implies. If it doesn't interest you to post on here...big fucking deal. People get bored all the time when making games and engines and what-have-you (in your case, the place you're on), but really, who cares if you're bored of places you're making the project's updates on? All they care about is if you get the stuff done or not. They would rather you be bored, depressed, pissed of places or whatever, if it meant you get the stuff done. They really don't care 1 way or the other about your actual feelings about...anything...really.

Unless it messes with how your projects pan out. But I HIGHLY doubt you being on here is gonna fuck your projects up a hell of a lot.

I'll say sorry on how offensive my last post was, but really, I don't give a fuck. If you can't accept my brutally honest opinion and criticism on what you're doing in a PUBLIC setting, of all places, you really shouldn't be making anything for the public to use and/or view. You do what you do pretty good. I'll enjoy it when it all is done. But it still doesn't change the fact that I really speak how I feel. Good or not. Doing stupid shit or not. No matter what. It is your choice to move your projects, and it is my choice to voice my opinion on it. Take it or leave it.

But I'll not be making it all 'sweet' just because you want people to play all 'nice' when you make a decision like this. Good luck with the move nonetheless, and good luck with your stuff.

WolfCoder might have his personal reasons (e-morals??) but at the end of the day I think it's pretty stupid to completely abandon a huge number of geniunely interested people. RMN may not have as much traffic as...dreamincode...but it's still unique traffic!

Idk, whatever floats your boat, dude.

@Thiamor: woah, take a chill pill!

In the interest of logic you could just... still follow the project pretty easily?

Off topic for a moment, but Yellow...I swear I think there is an Orchestra called Yellow Magic that does Video game sounding Orchestra music. I don't know why I just now thought of it, but oh well. There is.

Anyone who's currently interested in RM20XX could, yeah, but there's always the potential for more interested (too lazy to look up a thesaurus, sorry) people who chance upon WC's project through a directly-related website (i.e. RMN). S'all about demographics.

Indeed.
I don't know shit about what's going on here. I know there weren't a lot of updates on this project lately, and I've been keeping away from the forums because of laziness, so I know nothing of personal grievances or goings on here of late.

For what it's worth, however, it was nice to read the discussion in this "project page" when it was regularly updated. Regardless of where WC decides to move, or why, that won't change the fact that this engine is badass, and will redefine what rpg maker games will be in the future. I will follow it wherever it ends up.
he provided links to where he's going to continue updating his project... how difficult is it going to be to click a link if you're still interested in the project? and in any case, it's probably better suited to be hosted elsewhere anyway... while it is an rpgmaker engine re-dux, it's really not an indie game like the rest of the gamepages on rmn. so idk. this all matters so little. with such a hostile response from people, it's a wonder people don't secede from rmn more often.

on the flipside though, i will say it is kinda lame he'd abandon a site that made special arrangements for his engine to be hosted here.
