Reniat returns to her home village after years away at boarding school to find that the village is nearly deserted. The mine that the village depended on heavily for boosting its economy and tourism has been overrun by monsters and no one has bothered doing anything about it. Having trained as an adventurer, she decides to see what she can do about reviving the town and making a name for herself in the world.

Homework Salesman is a life simulation game with an emphasis on dungeon exploration, completing quests, crafting new equipment and items, and befriending the people in town. The game takes inspiration from the Rune Factory and Atelier series.

Features
  • Befriend each villager by talking to them every day and giving them gifts. Higher friendship levels allow you to learn each NPC's personal story and can also gain you access to new shop items, skills, hidden goodies, and more.

  • Unique items means that each item in the game is treated as a separate object. You can rename equipment, find rare versions of them, upgrade and repair them (weapons have durability), and even enchant them. You can have several iron swords each with different enchantments on them.

  • Six unique crafts: Cooking, Smithing, Tailoring, Enchanting, Alchemy, and Construction.

  • Quests are divided into two categories: story quests that propel your adventure forward, and side quests that are procedurally generated.

  • Features a world encounter system where you can find random events in field maps or dungeons, such as traveling merchants or a bandit who'll offer to spare you for money (or you can kill him)

  • Enemy encounters and (most) treasure chests are randomly placed on maps. You typically won't find the same monster encounter in the same dungeon spot every time. Treasure chest contents are randomly drawn from a pool of items appropriate for the zone you're in. You can also find unique weapons with randomized names, stats, and enchantments.

Update Log:
1/27/14 - v1.2
- The last two bosses in the game will now put up an anti-frazzle shield if they get hit successfully by frazzle three times. This shield will dissipate after 2 turns. Note that it doesn't count just frazzling the boss, it will count if you frazzle any boss minions in the fight.
- The Treasure Hunter couple will now appear in the ending cut-scene if you saw their world event.
- Fixed bugs related to Liffely's cooking delivery service.
- Fixed bugs related to the 2nd Colorous Cave quest.
- Fixed a bug where if you somehow manage to defeat the 3rd floor bosses on the same day as defeating Plutonus, the magic shop NPCs would not move into town.
- Added several easter eggs, most of which are references to early testers and other people in the community.
- You now get a quest telling you what to do next if you defeat a certain field boss after defeating the last boss of the Caves for the first time.
- Fixed cut-scene bugs related to the Westerlys move in quest.

Well it sounds like you have an issue with codecs? Are you able to play any other VX ace game? I would google l3codecx.ax and see if anyone else has issues with this file.

thx It seems to work now. I had to just remove l3codecx.ax and it stopped crashing.

Bag / storage system needs a bit more to get used to. Like I think i missed some of early rewards (chain mail, upgrade stones) becouse bag was full and they werent put in my storage. That is intentional?? O.o
You received recipes to create them, not the actual items.

Regarding where some of the items you get you can go into Options in the main menu. There you can choose whether the ingredients and loot go to the bags or storage. Having them go to loot is usually best for both.
Superfun game so tar :) spend Like week at alchemy desi massing potions for long trip. Still havent found unique thugs that disturb inn supply route.

Those will eventually appear. Check the different forest areas near town every single day until they do.
Can I find desert base recipe somewhere? I don't get more recipes from those that drop from monsters.
Or do you have other means to easily get 100k to start enchanting repair lvl1 orbs for profit.
Now I could enchant repair lvl 1 enchantments but where i can buy black orbs?
:) sorry on more question. It is quite annoying to always find Ankaba from caves. Any tips about her missing sister?

The recipe you should be able to get sooner or later. The other things, I don't think you are supposed to be able to do (maybe the enchantment with lots of grinding to earn the 100k )or get yet in Chapter 1.
Ty. So I always have to search caves for Ankaba before doing something else? :S

i cant buy black orbs? What is the best way to make coin then if not selling repair enchantments? (leveled enchantment maker to there already). So far my main income since i have high level enchanter is to craft any lvl 1 enchantments and sell those for 187 profit/piece :S that gives me something like 20k / week.

Robert is pain right now. His double AoE turn almost annihilates the whole team.
YES!! I did beat that Robert mofo! Had not bought any 2nd slots in my gear, mostly just first slot and not to every gear either (used most of my gold leveling enchantment craft and couldnt use it for profit at the end..). I got the earth token but where i can place it?

Now I have just super grind left. Is it worth it? Will story proggress or is this the end of chapter 1?

You don't necessarily need to find Ankuba at the beginnning of the day. I usually looked for her until I planned to be in the mine, towards the end of the day, unless I found there is a battle for which I really needed the extra help.

Selling battle loot might be more profitable in terms of money/time than crafting things to sell them, I would think.

You're not done yet! You need to take the token to the statue located in the screen next to the one with mine entrance. There you will find somebody familiar with a quest that will bring you closer to the end.
oh boy that 2nd coming of captain is too hard :[ How did you beat him in 11days? He will demolish me if he gets too many turns with dragons and he is much faster than robert. Did you manage to stack enough agi on casters so they were always first or did you use other dirty tricks?
Have you upgraded your armor? You might want to invest in more enchantments also. Certain ones help a lot. Also don't worry about trying to beat it as quickly as possible. The first person that beat the game did so in 64+ days.

No tricks whatsoever. As with Robert, the most important thing is keeping them "Frazzled", especially the Captain as well as keeping your party's HP up, especially Reniat's and Ankaba's. Casting the reflective spell helps as well since there's a chance the status effect that will afflict him. Some turns, if they are all "Frazzled" you probably will want to spend the turn healing or defending. One useful thing to keep in mind is that you can stack the debuff of the Captain's defense, which is probably one of the first things you want to accomplish ASAP. Also, keep in mind that Reniat can do physical attacks, so save a good move towards the end. You'll have to be persistent, since winning the battle is a question of making the best choices yourself plus a bit of luck of not getting their most devastating attacks.
I crushed him! All I had to do was switch my 2 slotted mage robes from Reniat and Ankaba for unslotted high school girl uniform so my casters reacted first.
That brings me to one issue with gameplay. Thunder spells are pretty much overpowered becouse they can stun bosses regularly and it feels that whole game is balanced around that mechanic and if you are not using lightning you will be in trouble.
I never used Lightning in this game :o
