Castle Greyrot, a new rogue-lite RPG on the horizon! Featuring Duran!

Hello, Time Travelers!
I've been absent for the past year, working on a new project called Castle Greyrot. Imagine Shattered Hourglass bosses, dialogues, decision-making, and job system but it's set in dark medieval times.

The story is Castle Greyrot is a living being that changes its location every 10 years and corrupts its surroundings wherever it goes. As an experienced Commander, you are summoned to engage in a raid on Castle Greyrot.
With mercenaries on your side, you're about to venture to the Castle and destroy the unknown evil force within. It's that simple.

You can check out Castle Greyrot's page right away!

Can anyone help in getting Suan's fourth costume in the wardrobe please? I have regular, rusty, glowing top and gem knight.
Thank you :)

Hi there! Do you think you could create another easy difficulty? The last time I played the game I found it a little on the tougher side, I know if I grind it'll be ok but here I'd prefer to have a much easier difficulty option to the grinding.

I think I chose easy or something like that too at the beginning. So it's quite tough a game. If you can't for a reason such as it requires a lot of balancing, I get that, I'm thinking / hoping a script can lower the stats and it'd be that easy, which sometimes is the case and often isn't so yep. If not, never mind.

It's still a good looking type of game, and enjoyable to playthrough if you like that type of difficulty.
Hello, boos405.

The difficulty script I'm using is kinda unstable and pretty old one. I tried many different combinations for it like if I lower 5% or %10 on enemy parameters all enemy attacks become NULL. So, in the end with my experiments, the lowest and maximum parameters become %85 to %125. With over 70 bosses in the game, it's really hard to adjust those parameters without breaking something lol

Thanks for your kind comment though!

I see. Still, thanks. I watched a LP a long while ago now, I liked it a lot. It had what I'd describe as uniqueness to it at it's core with your story and mapping, and that played out nicely.

Treephop does amazing damage if you give him the right items and use the right skills.

Yes, it's a quite tough game I'd say. However, I think this is what makes this game fun. If you have the right setup for each character, you can do well even in hard mode or, even in loot hunt mode. Duran's MP is basically infinite, Zulwhern's arrow attack is quite OP (12 hit in 1 turn is sick), Suan is just badass, especially his terminator class. Juliet's white magic is useful and her radiant blade is extremely useful if you're item hunting and Treephop is OP for early game and... he'll turn into a great potion user late game!

Tips:

1. Give mp up to Suan. AFAIK he has a skill that recover 5% mp or something, if he has 100 mp, he can recover his own MP, LOL.

2. If you need money, go underwater. The clam monster drops quite a hefty sum of money. If you find it troublesome, buy potch of greed to double the money earned and fight in the haunted mansion near the rest area. Use Juliet's Radiant Blade to kill everything in sight. If you're low on MP, just rest, it's free.

3. Trade the tournament points for the last item that cost 300 points (I think?). It's an accessory that increase all resistance by 7.5% and it stacks.

4. Equip weapons with multiple elements like the Omni-Sword. If an enemy is weak against one of the elements and resist the other, it'll use the element where the enemy is weak against. Exploiting the enemies' weaknesses can turn the table and shake them up. Another great example is to let Zulwhern use the Gray Knight class while equipping Windy, his attack then will have 3 elements, holy, dark and wind.

5. Don't hesitate to use potions! The enemies drop them almost like all the time.

6. Use weapon masteries to boost your attack.

Response to both & all.

Thanks for the tips both of you. Yes with Treephop I saw that in the LP and even though I only played the very beginning myself I could see there are times when using certain skills makes everything easier.

"that's what makes the game fun" is what I meant by "and enjoyable to playthrough if you like that type of difficulty." so I do agree.

I did see many times where certain skills became OP and the game become easier, but overall I'd still say it looks and plays on hard difficulty. I don't mean that as like a con or anything.

I might be able to come back to this in the future anyway.

Thanks for the responses! : )

thanks for helping everyone, any help is highly appreciated :)
- how to increase the fishing level? My current rank is 3 and the lady in Sandock keeps saying to come back when I have improved my level. I guess there will be more baits after firefly?
- does anyone have a list of all the notes? I have found 21 so far but I believe there is more.
dnel57 thanks for the list, I finally found Gwyndia, it is very well hidden
You can raise your fishing level by doing Seaport town's Fishing Lodge, just open the chests that require you to catch specific fishes all around the world.

I believe you are just missing a single note. I'm 100% that it's on the Fauntown's sewer. Other than that 23th note is for the Bad and Neutral route.

Upgrade your town and talk with Qual in there, you'll get to Fauntown and you'll get your final Quiz Card.

Those Jobs you mentioned are for the different paths, or different choices you take~ For example if you never Beat "crazy artist" you'll get another party member instead of him.

I wonder if anyone can help with couple things please :)

- for fishing locations : where are Gwyndia, Left Trin and Pure Chest area?
- does ultimate weapon exist?
- I found Qual, does she only have 1 quest for Suan? I still have no clue as to how she can help in defeating Chronos (apart from appearing in every location I visited). I have 2 keys now but still want to explore a bit.
- is there any way we can teleport without using the scroll? It can be tricky when money is tight :(
- I only have 5 quiz cards so far, how many are there and where can I find the next one (if any)?
- in the Jobs and Difficulty notes, I can see Hybrid Monk and Archer but who are they? I found and saw Bow weapon but not sure who can use it.

thank you :)
I can only answer three questions if you don't mind.

As far as I remember, in the earlier version, ultimate weapons and armors do exist. You have to finish certain quests for this.

If your money is tight, you can just hunt in the haunted mansion near the rest area. Use Juliet's Radiant Blade to instantly kills everything in sight. When she run out of MP, just rest, it's free.

Certain actions can change fate and may determine your party member. If you watch the Shattered Hourglass page on Steam, you may see that there's a character whose name is Jannet. I don't know the detail since I've been playing the Good Karma path and haven't tried the other paths.
If I remember correctly, there is a section where you have to rescue miners so they can repair a bridge. Pure chest area is in the eastern part of that area. You need to do something before you can open it. There is fishing there. On page43, I put a link showing all fish and where to find them. They are numbered left to right top to bottom with the chart.

I... I did something horrible. I'm too lazy to restart the game so I reset the hunt mission count variable to 0, did the quest and reset it again to 3. I hope I did not break the game D:

Welp, let's just think of it as one of Duran's ability >,<

lol, let's... just pretend that never happened *rolls eyes*

You can get some nice interactions with him and his wife, also in the post-game~

You can gain about 2 good or 1 good with another karma point just by saving him and depending on your choices.

If you've done the hunt missions before saving the fisherman...~ that's probably what happened :(
Ouch... I leveled up so much and messed it up :(

Will the difference be massive if I didn't save him?

Finally got the chance to play this game again due to the work from home policy <3
Hopefully, Steam version is coming to this end of the month~
With achievements and cloud saving system will help a lot!
Oooooooh, sooo exciteeed to know thiiis!

Been playing the new version for two days, I love the fishing system <3 it wasn't there the last time I played.

Just got Zhulwern and passed the dark cave.

Btw, has anyone ever got the drop from yellow fox? I'm dying to know what the "yellow drop" item do. I tried like forever but it never drops, even in hardcore or treasure hunt modes :\

@sawworm, if I buy it on steam later, will I be able to copy my current saved data to the steam version?
Absolutely, you can copy paste your save file into it! I'm glad that you are enjoying the fishing system~ There are so many rewards you can get just by fishing :~D
Great! Which means my current playthrough won't be in vain ~

Btw, the first time I played this game, I remembered that I saved someone from being eaten by a fish. However, in my current playthrough, when I went and try to save this guy, it says that I was too late to save him. Did I do something wrong?
