Oh, while I have time, would anyone mind testing something in the demo for me? I might have forgotten to set a line in the code for the Hall Sweeper enemy. If anyone encounters one and the game crashes when it tries to use Flame Sweeper, let me know and I'll take the time to upload a fix.
I only ask because I noticed it before release and fixed it, but yesterday it happened to me while I was testing some new stuff. Apparently the change I made to correct it didn't save, so now I'm not sure if it's out there plaguing the demo release.

I toyed around with a hall sweeper for a while before realizing he could end up killing my whole party lol. I survived a few flame sweepers without crashing personally. Good luck out there, you're doing much better work where you're at.

Yeah, I've survived quite a few Flame Sweeper attacks. Though granted that was on the initial 1.0 release you made. In any case; be safe out there and good luck with the cleanup <3
Good to know the Sweeper isn't breaking. I made a copy of the project for the demo release, so I must have fixed te problem in that one and left it in my copy. Al's well that ends well. Back to pulling trees out of people's living rooms!

All I'm doing is cleaning up the mess (I donated most of my clothes, too). Really, the hospital and construction workers are the aces in things like this.
In any event, I switched from day to night shift (it's easier to do better work at night, believe it or not), so I'll have a little time to work on the game today before I start getting ready to get back out there.

On another note, just needed to say that Con Edison, Verizon and FEMA's response to this thing has been HORRENDOUS. They need to clean house in those organizations. Unreal.

You and everyone up there in New York are in my family's prayers and by helping in even a small way you are a hero, just keep yourself safe. (I'm in Texas, but my sister-in-law is up there.)
So, over the last three days I've picked up 38 tons of wreckage and it doesn't even look like we've made a dent in it yet. Phew. I think it's gonna be a little while before things are back to normal here, and I can't find gas anywhere argh.
At the very least, it looks like a lot of the scripts used in the game are currently being updated and bug-fixed by their respective authors, which is always nice. =)

Also, just a fun fact since this blog was originally about Hurricane Sandy, the NYC Dept. of Sanitation (of which I am a proud member) removed 60,000 tons (120 million pounds) of debris in ONE DAY yesterday. We're rocking the shit out of this cleanup effort. NYC will look normal again in no time. =)
