"The gameplay in Dragon Fantasy II is first-class; it gives you everything you would expect from a traditional roleplaying game but, more than that, it also pulls each element off brilliantly. Professionally, even."

You can now find DF: II on Facebook! Why? Because I can!

A century has passed since the events of the first Dragon Fantasy. The self-proclaimed lord of demon-kind has been slain, and the world restored back to a state of order. Even the four Great Relics could not completely destroy the power of the Demon Lord however. His power, along with the mighty fortress of Venaitura, was contained within a sphere of light—forever locked away to spare the world further carnage.

But the skies have once again darkened, and a new evil has given rise: Dark Emperor Xyan. Using his terrifying power, Xyan has stolen the Sphere of Light, and with it opened a gateway to the Dark World. With hordes of Demons now under his control, his quest for world-domination has begun.

You are the Hero's descendant. Flowing through you is the blood of the legendary hero who felled the dark lord 100 years ago, and it gives you a power unlike any other. The King of Zebon calls forth you and your allies, and tasks you with defeating the Arch-Fiend Xyan.

Now it is time to embark on the adventure of a lifetime! The fate of the world rests on your shoulders.

Shall you conqueror Xyan?

An Update Appears! Command?

That's right, folks! I've taken on the task of giving this game a small makeover in the form of various touch-ups here and there to improve its quality. What KIND of edits are we talking here? Well...

Updates to various maps, and a COMPLETE REMAKE of the World Map to make it like an actual WORLD! Right now it's just a mess. But that's how I rolled back in the day; I don't think anything was pre-planned, and some aspects (like maps) definitely suffered for it.

Dialogue is being edited, snipped, cut down, and made WAY more comprehensible and bearable. I think I went a little TOO over the top originally.

The message that comes up whenever you search a pot's gotta be changed. It HAS to be. Right now it takes THREE message boxes to find out what you've got if there's an item to be found in a pot/drawer/whatever.

Equipment, enemies, and various other things are getting tweaked, too.

For the most part, DFII's fine just the way it is, but I want to make it even BETTER. It's good, but it could be GREAT! So yeah, that's just a little something to look forward to.

Great job with the DQ-style game. Maps are pretty spot-on, battle sequences frighten me like the old DQ games did, and the difficulty appears to be about right, if not a bit easier (which is good!). Shortly after starting....I lost interest ^^ Haha, sorry, just wasn't in much of a mood for DQ gameplay. Directions on what I should do were a little vague, and while I could talk to the townsfolk for directions, the fact that a new text box opens for every 2-3 lines of text makes that task a little painful. I'll pick it up again if I ever have the urge to play DQ (happens from time to time).
Really? Then make sure you make a post in there every now and then! Or...do you have a dislike to forums? Besides, i have a topic on Dragon Fantasy II and Dragon Fantasy in the "Game Discussion and Release" section. It seems to be a better place to talk than the blogs...for now. Ha ha. Untill RMN3 is released! Le gasp.

Never really did anything else with it so far. I'm just taking a small break away from making the game for now, but I'll get back on it eventually.
ok let us know how things are going from time to time
Looks very good indeed, Ephiam! Better than the first, in fact. Do you have any plans for a Dragon Fantasy 3? :P
I hope it IS better than the first! Else...
I didn't do it right? \o.o/

And nah, not yet. ;p
I have no intentions for a thrid game. It'll definitly cross my mind if I manage to finish this one (and will most definitly e the final game), but I dinno yet. =O
It may soon be nearing completion, actually. I've got the first overworld map done, and now I need to complete the second.
what do i do once ive got the best stuff from Zanbui
Did you already go to the Ogre Cave and beat the Demon in there? Or should I ask this: Is Mr.Zanbui back?
Wow! I love old Dragon Quest!! I plan on playing this today! <3
Huzzah! Thank you for goin' a giving it a go! Please be sure to tell me what you thought of it when (if) you play it!
Mr. Zanbui isn't there, and I don't have the boots
Ah, I think I know where you're to. Just go in Mr.Zanbui's house and go upstairs. Check one of the bookshelves up there to get the Zanbui Emblem, and then show it to the guard to the bottom-left of his house. Go back inside the house and in to the eating area, and move the block on the floor in there. Go down, flip the block/switch to the right and the water will lower. Go up, push the blobk to the side and get the Mayors Key. Exit and go back to where the guard was standing and go down into the hole/stairs. Use the key on the door, and everything else should be fine from there on.
Devil's in the details
Kudos for finishing this! What's gonna be next?
I finished this game this morning. Now onto the first one!

I hope you make more games. Yours are pretty solid and contain no real errors.
I am finally able to play this.

I am considering this an RS game and will discuss it in RMNCast 6!
Huzzah! I heard it, and it was great. Hearing you praise it so much as being a great game was...awesome! Awesome and flattering. I didn't really think DF would get many fans, to tell you the truth. >_>
