Luxaren Allure is now on GameJolt!

I've decided to follow the trend and put Luxaren Allure on GameJolt! Now, don't worry, RMN is my home, and where I'll be spending most of my time. I just want to see if I can get the game a little more exposure ^_^ If you'd like to see the GameJolt page, click here!

I'm still hard at work on the game (while juggling it with other projects, because, you know me ^^;;) and it looks like I'm still on track for a final release before the end of 2015! Thanks, everyone, for all of your support :DDDD

Fanart, Sickness, and the Rest of the Game

First off, I'd like to share this absolutely amazing piece of fanart by Sai-shou! (Click here to check out their awesome deviantart page! :D)

(click here for the full-sized version :D)

Chisa has never looked so badass before and I absolutely love it to pieces ^_^ Also, Sai-shou has done some totally awesome artwork for a future project for me (feel free to take me to task for doing too many projects here XD;;) and I'm extremely grateful!

Since last November's release, I've been busy making a Christmas game (click here to check it out if you haven't gotten a chance yet) and participating in the McBacon Jam (though unfortunately we didn't get our game to a releasable stage). The Jam ended a week ago, and since then, I've been sick and unable to do much at all aside from short bits of mapping work, followed by sleep and me wondering what it feels like to be well again XD

Aside from that, I want to state that I have every intention of releasing the full, complete version of this game this year, hopefully sooner in the year than later. This last 35% of the game is going to be very work-intensive, with various locations and scenes that require all new tilesets and a lot of writing, so I can't give a concrete deadline. But rest assured, it will be done, it'll be up, and it'll hopefully be extremely awesome :DDDDD

Thank you so much everyone, for being patient with me, and giving this game a chance ^_^

Luxaren Allure 65% Demo Out Now!

Hello everyone! I'm happy to announce that the new demo of Luxaren Allure is now available! I've name it Luxaren Allure 65%, as the game is roughly 65% complete at this stage. If you've played a previous version, you should be able to continue from where you left off just by moving your old save files to this version's folder.

What's new in this demo? Aside from several new areas to explore and the continuation of the story, and the recruitment of a new ally, two new additional features have been added!

You may now change the game's difficulty from the System menu. The options are 1)Easy, 2)Normal, or 3)Hard. You can change the difficulty any time from the menu.

Also, there is now a "Mission" option in the menu! Selecting this will make your party tell you what you need to do next. This is helpful if you haven't played in a while or get lost or confused at any point.

I would also like to welcome Sooz to the team, as she'll be helping me by remaking the character sprites for our heroes. A huge thanks to her for making Lynette's sprites, and the remade versions of the other sprites will be coming soon. For a sneak peak of her work, here's a picture of Merel's new sprite (still in the works, and isn't included in this version):

One last thing. I had planned for the next release of Luxaren Allure to be the final, complete game, and that's still the plan. However, if enough time passes without an update, and I feel like I have enough content, I may release one extra demo before that. The rest of the game has some complicated parts that may take me awhile, and I don't want to keep everyone waiting too long for more of the game if I can help it.

I want to give a heartfelt thanks to my testers, Red_Nova and Marrend, for their great work, and an extra bonus thank-you to Red_Nova for always keeping me on-task for character development! A huge thanks to everyone for playing, following this game, and for being a huge inspiration for me to continue! ^_^

Back to Work and More Art :D

Things have been pretty quiet here, and that's due to me participating in the October Revive the Dead contest, where I spent the month reviving a twelve-year old RPG Maker 2000 game called Chase For Divinity. If you're at all interested in checking out an old game I started when I was a teenager, click here to go to the gamepage :D

I'm now back at working on Luxaren Allure, along with several other projects. The next update should be ready soon, and I appreciate everyone's patience. I have a bad habit of going "HEY A NEW CONTEST! I COULD ENTER THAT" XD

I've also commissioned M-3-1 for some new extra art, and she's gone above and beyond in making it stunningly beautiful. You'll have to play the game to see most of it, but I'll leave you with a small teaser of part of a picture.

A big thanks to everyone who has subscribed, and I'll have a new release for everyone soon! ^_^

Progress Report

Progress: Swirling Sands and Springsmouth

First of all, I'd like to thank all of you for subscribing! Seeing that people want to follow the progress of this game motivates me even further to make this game great! :D

Progress since Remnants of Isolation was released has been steady, and more locations have been completed!

  • First we have the Chambers of Rest, the burial place of the ancient Parvian rulers, and home to three "Ridddlemongers" who will test you before you can continue into the lower depths.

  • The Chambers connect to the Cavern of Swirling Sands, a sand-dungeon with those sandpits that take you to the floor below them. If you can find the way out, you'll be on the road to Springsmouth.

  • Springsmouth itself is under construction as we speak, with about half of the maps completed. It is where you'll find your forth party member, Lynette, Granddaughter of the Paladin Hero Estes.

Here she is, drawn by the talented M-3-1 ^_^

And because I haven't brought it out in a while, here is the progress meter:

I currently intend to release the next demo when the Singing Wind Pass is complete. After that, the next release will be the completed game :DDD

A huge thanks again to everyone for your support! You're all wonderful, and inspire me to keep pushing myself to do great things!

Luxaren Allure Demo with New Art is Live!

I've put up a modified version of the last demo, with the beautiful art by M-3-1 replacing the old art! Again, a huge thanks to her for her wonderful art ^____^

Aside from the art, however, there's not any new content in this release. I apologize to everyone waiting for the next part of the story. I really wanted to put out an update with the great new art in it so I went ahead XD Don't worry, I'm working hard on the next release!

New Face Art Underway!

Hello everyone! ^_^

I wanted to let you know that the wonderful new face art being done by the very talented M-3-1 is almost complete! The art is so nice that instead of shrinking it down to fit into Ace's faceset system, I've made my own edit so it shows up above the text-box, like so:

I want to give another huge thanks to M-3-1, who is so talented and so easy to work with! Thanks so much for all of your help, you are truly fantastic! :DDDD

In other news, work on the next build has been really slow this month, as I've devoted most of my attention to the 2014 Indie Game Maker contest. I teamed up with long-time LA supporter and awesome person in general, Red Nova, and with my best friend and art mentor, Sooz, to make Remnants of Isolation, a short RPG about escaping an interdimensional castle of peril and the bond you form with another on your journey! The game is now complete, and I'm so proud of the work we've done, so please check it out if it sounds interesting to you! ^_^

Now I can get back to work on Luxaren Allure! Awesome new content is on the way, so I'll keep you posted as development continues! Thank you all for your support and patience as I continue to work ^____^

New Playable Demo Released!

The new demo is here, will all new content! You can move your save file from the old demo and it should work just fine!

This demo has roughly 40% of the completed game, and takes you through Parvian and the Parvian temple.

A huge thanks once again to Red_Nova, for being such a great tester and editor!

Enjoy, everyone! And please send me any feedback, bug reports, comments, or anything really! Looking forward to seeing how you liked it! ^___^

Oh, and if you missed the last blog I posted just yesterday, please check it out for pretty new art ^_^

New Artist Announced! New Title Screen Art! ^_^

Hello everyone!

Today I'm really excited, because I've got something great to share! Luxaren Allure's getting an art-makeover, and it's starting with the title screen! Behold!

This amazing new title screen is by M-3-1! Please check out her DeviantArt page here!

She is going to be redrawing all the character illustrations and face art, and I'm thrilled with how she's transformed the characters so beautifully while capturing their personalities so well. She's been an absolute joy to work with and it's wonderful having her help on the project! I know I'm looking forward to the new facesets and illustrations in her style, and I hope everyone else will be, too ^_^

Also, the new demo should be out sometime this week, or this weekend at the latest! Things are getting even more exciting!

Progress Report

Towards a New Release

I'm nearing being ready to release a new game demo. This demo will have around 40% of the game done, and will allow you to explore through Parvian Temple. I sent Red_Nova a really bare-bones version and have gotten some great feedback (thanks again, by the way :D), and am fixing mistakes and improving the content.

I'm not sure when I'll have everything ready to release, but it should be less than two weeks, unless something big comes up. I'm really looking forward to getting this release out to you all, especially since it's been a while since the last demo.

Thanks everyone ^_^
