Progress Report

Working Towards a Demo

Hello everyone! I want to thank each and every one of you for subscribing, as knowing people are interested fuels my desire to work even harder on the game.

The demo is the next big goal I'm working towards, so you can all have something to actually play, and I can get feedback and comments. Here's how work towards the demo is going:

Again, I don't like giving dates in case something takes longer than I'd expected, but I'm really hoping to have the demo ready soon. Well, back to work :D

Progress Report

Steady Progress

I thought I'd give my first progress report!

With the first dungeon finished, the game's now up to half an hour of playtime. I'll probably upload a demo when I get at least an hour of playtime ready.

A majority of my work the past few days has been tweaking the first boss battle. LockeZ on the forums has a great thread where he designs boss battles and he helped me take a super-loose set of ideas and pulled them into a cool battle. (Thanks again! :D ) I don't think what I was able to execute is exactly up to how he described it, but I think it's close and it works great!

That's it for this update! New areas can take me a little while since I have to draw the tiles for them before I can make them in VX Ace, but things are going smoothly so far! Thanks for following me along on this journey!

Announcement

Luxaren Allure Game Page is Up!

After pondering about when to put up a game page for what I've been working on obsessively for a little while now, I finally decided to just go for it. So, welcome to the game page for my RPG :D

My motivation for making this game is thus: I've been working on RPGs for well over a decade, working in RPG Maker 2000 and XP, but I still don't have a completed RPG that I'm willing to put out there (some of the 2000 ones are done, but I'm not happy with their quality).

So for this, my first small project, my rule has been "Keep it simple." I immediately broke that rule and started drawing custom tilesets and hero and monster battlers for the game. (Hopefully the graphics aren't too hard on the eyes; this is my first time drawing pixel art). But for the most part, I'm trying very hard to keep this as simple as it can be, while still hopefully fun and engaging.

I'm not going to tie myself to a solid deadline at this point, just in case something unexpected happens, but I'm making great progress so far. I've got the starting town and most of the first dungeon done, and about a fifth of the graphics completed.

Here's to a finished game coming out of this, and thanks for reading and checking out what I've done!
