Generic RM2k3 RTP Gaming Fun!

I always wanted to make that game based on everything I enjoyed as a kid. This is the end result.

Hero's Realm creates a super-synergy of proactive features to create a gaming experience greater than the sum of its parts.

Lead four heroes and their teams against the evil forces of Mephistocles, the Lord of Demons in this retro-RPG adventure. Toggle between the four heroes as you explore dungeons, ascend towers, spelunk caves, save villages and defeat the forces of evil! Reminiscent of classic RPGs such as Dragon Quest III and Final Fantasy V, Hero's Realm is a fun romp in old-school RPG nostalgia.

-22 character classes (12 base classes, 4 hero classes, 3 secret classes, 3 master classes)
-TONS of game content and sidequests
-Classic NES-era and SNES-era RPG gameplay
-Great music
-Multi-party switching system (like Kefka's Tower in FFVI!)
-Multi-party tactical battles (at least 5 of them!)
-Massive world map
-Fun

The story is split into 5 chapters, with each of the first four chapters focusing on a new hero, and the 5th chapter bringing them all together.

Chapter 1: Won't Somebody Please Think of the Children?
Chapter 2: There is Something Fishy Going on...
Chapter 3: Land of the Rising Son
Chapter 4: True Calling
Chapter 5: The War on Terror

What level would you suggest my 16 characters be for the Inverted Tower. I was thinking about hitting 20 and trying again.

That sounds about right.

iirc, I planned it so that you'd finish the first 4 chapters around level 13, and in chapter 5 all three of the first quests are available. However, the recommended order is Four Towers, Inverted Tower and White Elfstone, imo.

I think I expected players to be around level 25 after those 3 quests, and blah blah blah end game around level 38-44.

(Amazingly, I've seen savegames with level 90+ characters o: )
Now that we have tables on RMN....

I had lv 90 chars. But i cheated so i doesnt count.
Great game! I'm on a repeat play-through, but I'm experiencing a problem I don't think I had last time. I'm trying to complete the quest to kill that defective robot near the Rover's camp in Chapter 1. I accepted the quest on my first visit, and fought it twice with it escaping both times. But I couldn't find it for a 3rd time. At first, I spent some time trying to find it, but eventually went on to beat the final dungeon of the chapter. But I'd like to finish this quest before ending the chapter. So I'm wondering what triggers the robot's appearance? Maybe it's got a random element and I'm just getting unlucky; here's what I've tried:

1) Much wandering on the world map and fighting random battles. I've tried staying in the Rover camp vicinity for a long time, and also wandering to other locations to fight.
2) Letting some time pass with the game running, both on the world map and in other places.
3) Entering and exiting the Rover's camp, and other locations

Any help would be appreciated. My compulsion to do all the side-quests as soon as they become available is preventing me from going on to the next chapter. :P
There is probably a bug in the game. That quest is rather finicky. Upload your savefile and link it for me and I can take a look. Probably a switch got turned ON that wasn't supposed to yet.

Thanks for playing (and then playing again o: )

Here you go! For future reference, the quest is supposed to be completable immediately after arriving there, right? If so, I will try not to overwrite any save files until I'm sure I haven't locked myself out of the quest. Assuming that whatever causes the bug happens after I arrive, of course.

I'm having a blast using "Low Tier" characters: Paladin, Bandit, and Mesmer. It's been a fine party for chapter 1, though it will probably be rough in chapter 5. I remember the Paladin and especially the Bandit not contributing much during my last play-through.

Here you go! If it happens again, let me know.

I am not sure what the bug is, but I'll find it and make note.
The impossible has happened...

Thanks everyone who took the time to play my game, and especially to those who took the time to write a review!

I probably should have something more profound to say, but I guess given enough time any game can accumulate enough downloads to get to 10,000. (And pretty soon a few games will surpass this one)

I just finished playing, this is great game. Now i'm starting again with the secret classes and trying to find all the tiny medals (i only found 78 the first time). If you start the newgame+ is there any difference or you just play over again with strong stats and items???

Thanks for playing and taking the time to post!

There are no differences, except that you are stronger and you get to keep your items.

And 78 is pretty damn good!
I think there is a bug while playing with the champion. In battle when it is the champion's turn if you go to item and then close item again and chose pummel the game gives an error item not found and close the game.
Thanks for the game; I've been really enjoying it.
Thing is, I've come unstuck in Chapter 3.
1) I got the Ornate Key from the cave, but it doesn't seem to open any of the locked gates/doors. Is it supposed to? If not, what does? There are an awful lot of places with chests in that I can't access.
2) I went to the teleporter at the other end of the one which can only be opened from the inside, went through - but couldn't open it up.
3) I think I must be missing at least one side quest, because I can't find any noble to speak to in order to get a sponsor for the tournament, and if I have to earn 50,000 through battles, my levels are going to be a heck of a lot higher than those you've been suggesting. I've done the Dow Jones cave and the lighthouse.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

1) The ornate key opens the purplish-blue doors. You needed it to open the door in Haikkodo to continue on through the pass (the place where you were sacrificed up for that demon).
2) ...not sure what you are talking about here. I need more specifics.
3) You need to fight in the Kumite, and win against Frank Dux to get permission to enter Noble's Way in Okasa.

Here is the noble's house who will sponsor you. He'll give you 50 grand if you bring him a ruby or somesuch.
Now that's what I call a prompt reply!

I've been trying to open the purple/blue doors and nothing happens e.g the one under the (forgot the proper term) place where the chapter started, one is Okasa etc.

The teleporter which needs to be opened from the inside is just west of Haikkodo and the other end is just south of where you come out of the pass under the mountains.

It's nearly midnight in my time zone, but tomorrow I'm off to fight Frank. I thought I had to get the sponsor and money before even beginning.

Thanks for your help.
