Two Days Away!

Dear Potato Lovers,

The testing phase took a bit longer than expected, but I'm glad to announce that almost all of those annoying icky bugs have been squished. At the same time, I have some bad news, some good news, and some even better news.

The good news is that I have managed to enable cloud saves for both Eredia 1 and 2. The bad news is that steam achievements might be broken for Eredia 2. I'm at my wits end trying to get them to work, but it just didn't happen the same way it did for Eredia 1.

As for the better news, we finally have a release date, and it's 14th December 2023. I know it's just two days away, but I couldn't commit to a final release date without knowing that I've eliminated all the bugs, at least the ones that we'd discovered.

My one final advice to players would be to play Eredia 1 first, in case you haven't already. Even though it's not necessary to have an Eredia 1 save file to play the sequel, it's a direct continuation of the story right from where it left off, and it'll be a more enjoyable experience to play these games in order.

That's all! See you on 14th.

Cheers,
Rishi

Update 1.1 (New Content) and 70% OFF!

Hellow Fellow Potatoes!

It's almost a year since I released Eredia: Diary of Heroes (boy, time flies quickly, huh?), and we've been on quite the ride so far. Bug fixes, improvements, edits, we've done it all to make Eredia a better game, and we did it together.

I've heard the demands for the sequel, and I'm pleasantly surprised by the response. Now, I won't be able to get Eredia 2 out in 2019, but I got a little anniversary gift for you all.

This is the first update that brings to you new content. (Mostly end game stuff)

- 3 new legendary weapons.
- One rare and one legendary armor set (total 5).
- Two new runestones.
- One new EX-Boss. (Okay, tbh, this fight is a little unfair, but if Gara and Shirven didn't pose too much of a challenge for you, you're probably gonna have fun with this one.)
- One Follow-up mission added in the Hunter's Guild. (Must have finished escorting the thief from Navrok Port. This isn't an official contract, and it doesn't get added to the Journal.)
- Minor bug fixes, including the recently reported Game Over bug after the Kredvale trials.

NOTE: 90% of the new content can only be accessed after getting a ship. Try revisiting some of the islands again.

And that's not all. For this week only, Eredia is on SALE (70% OFF)!

Also, if you haven't done so already, collect your FREE Eredia Lorebook from our official website by subscribing to our mailing list.

Finally, I'd like to request two things from our new players:

- Please leave a review if you play the game, and give me your honest feedback, regardless of whether it's a pat on the back or a brutal spinning heel kick. Feedback helps a lot, seriously.

- If you like detective/mystery games, you can give my new WIP game a try.
I'd love to hear your opinions.

Birth of a Mystery

"Mystery creates wonder and wonder is the basis of man's desire to understand." - Neil Armstrong

I've been talking about how I've postponed Eredia 2 to work on a game of a different genre, but until today, I didn't have anything to show. Well, the wait is over!

I've finished making the first of the four episodes of Eva Reynes, a dark mystery/suspense game. It took me a while because it's a genre that I have little experience with, but I wanted to make something like this for a long time now. Now that I got the gist of it, the remaining three episodes shouldn't take too much time.

Follow the game on our website and subscribe to our RMN pagefor regular updates:

Unlike Eredia 1, this time I don't plan on releasing a public demo until I make sure that the content is polished and bug-free. However, if you plan on being a beta tester and want to help me out, I'll highly appreciate it. :)

Cheers,
Rishi

Future of Eredia and Potatobrain Games

Greetings to you RPG-loving Potatoes!

It has been almost six months since the release of Eredia: Diary of Heroes, the first installment in the Eredia series, and so far I'm pleasantly surprised by the amount of positive response I got, especially on Steam. There were a few hiccups along the way, but the wonderful community made sure to report flaws and bugs whenever they found them, and it helped me improve the game greatly.

Now, several players have already started asking about Eredia 2, and I haven't given a proper response on this topic, yet. Well, let's start with the bad news, first.

I haven't started working on Eredia 2. Have I abandoned the project? HELL NO! But after finishing the first installment of Eredia, I decided that I'd challenge myself and make a non-RPG game because I have so many stories that cannot be told in a semi-medieval fantasy world.

I have started working on a Suspense/Detective game which will have dark themes and hardcore difficulty. This game is not as immense as Eredia, but it'll have a lot more original art, CGs, and the other stuff that commercial games usually have, and I plan to finish it in another six to nine months. I'll be rolling out a separate post for this topic soon.

I plan to start developing Eredia 2 in early 2019, and the development cycle will take anywhere between 12 to 18 months. Multiple users also asked what they can expect from the game; but to be perfectly honest, I haven't laid out any detailed plans yet, but the Aegea-Caradith war will continue, the Dark Silver will play a more prominent role in the story, new characters will be introduced, betrayals, plot-twists and surprises will keep you at the edge of your seat, and Kenrad will, of course, continue being who he is. That's as much spoiler-free information I can give you right now.

There's one more good news I'd like to share before ending this post:

Potatobrain Games is now open to publishing requests (non-commercial games) for FREE.

Yup, you read that right. I'll be rolling out a detailed post about this on my website and on Steam, so stayconnected!

Cheers!

Helloes potatoes!

I've got some good news and bad news.

The release date of Eredia: The Diary of Heroes has been pushed by 2 weeks.

The Mac version will be release approximately one month after the Windows version is released.

The good news is that this time it's final.
Everything including the Steam achievements is done. We're just running some final tests to ensure that Eredia delivers the quality and polish that it promised.

Progress Report

Less than a month!

Greetings, fellow potatoes!

As the chief potato of Potatobrain Games, I am proud to announce the planned release date for Eredia: Diary of Heroes is 31st March 2018. (Planned, not final)

While the development of the game is complete, and the testing/balancing is at its final phase, too, it is time for us to get busy with marketing, promotions, steam integration, and stuff like that.

It's our first commercial game launch, and I'd be lying to say we aren't nervous.
Whenever the climb got steep, I looked back at the numerous comments of support and appreciation that I got over the months. At the end of the journey I feel satisfied to have made a game that does not compromise.

We chose to self-publish this game, and we have little to no experience when it comes to marketing. If you liked the demo and appreciate Eredia, we request you to spread the word and spread the love. Tell, your friends, family, and other gamers about Eredia, and what made you appreciate it.

I know I haven't reached out to the community as much as I should have, but throughout the month I'll keep you guys updated with the latest news, and if there are any change of plans.

Cheers!
Rishi

Eredia Release Date

The testing in going on in full force, and I'm can't say that I'm not surprised at the number of bugs that we are finding on a daily basis.

Along with testing and balancing, I am also working on the Steam integration of this game, and of course, the steam achievements.

So here's the announcement!

...Um, no drumroll?...Okay, I guess...

The release date for Eredia: Diary of Heroes is 31st March 2018.

Of course, I will do everything in my power to make sure that I tie all the loose ends by then. Unless there are some unprecedented setbacks, this release date is kinda final.

This could not have been possible without the testers, proofreaders and players who gave their constructive feedbacks. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
