Love and War is a tale taking place on the world of Terra. Ever since the birth of the first nation-state on this world, Terra has been wracked by the scourge of war. Five nations managed to survive throughout the ages, yet it seemed as though with each passing day, humanity slipped closer and closer to self-annihilation.

One man made a difference, however. The youthful Emperor of the Zion Empire, Geraud Valtemond, was this man. A brilliant, honorable, and benevolent monarch, he managed to open the eyes of the leaders of the other nations, showing them what lay ahead if Terra persisted down this road. Through diplomacy and sheer force of will, Lord Geraud created the Commonwealth; an international governing body, comprised of democratically elected representatives and Peacekeeping Forces, which would forever make war a thing of the past.

Three centuries have elapsed, and people have forgotten the lessons of the past. Tensions are rising between nations once again, and it seems as if the Commonwealth is powerless to do anything but watch as its order crumbles. Can one man make a difference, once again?

Hiya everyone! Just wanted to report the release of Love and War: Jaina’s Story!

It’s a new short video starring Jaina Vellin, on St. Mikhail’s Day. Please feel free to check it out, and let me know what you think! Special thanks go to DollVA for voice acting Jaina (and Helen!), Khaishian for the artwork, and Aekenon for recording and editing the video itself. Merry Christmas, and Happy St. Mikhail’s Day to you all!

I'm stuck in the mine with Juno at the part where you have to get across the squeaking bridges
Just completed it. Great ending
I tried downloading the full one but it's not working.
Hmm? Checked and it seems to be fine, perhaps give it another go?
Oh my god.. How much HP does that dang boss have at Alton marsh.. The gargoyle one. 20th time, I got my butt handed to me. But over all, I love the game!

It has a plot that just reels you in like a fish. And oh my god >w< I love The voice acting. Especially Ryan's. But yeah.. Seriously, how much HP does that gargoyle have!?
Glad you're enjoying the game so far! Ah, that's definitely a tough boss. If you're below Level 8, you might want to reload a save and level up a bit more. Otherwise, you should make sure to use Ryan's "Rally" and Henrik's "Lionheart" skills, and maybe even consider using one of Ryan's precious cartridges if need be. Henrik's "Phoenix Feint" might be worth trying as well, to knock the Gorn Jabola's speed down. Otherwise, keep your HP up and keep hammering away at it. Best of luck! :)
... All I can say to that is.. Oh my god! -fangirl squeals- This was AMAZING! Truly amazing. I loved it! Though Juno kind of shocked me. Both him and Ryan.. Have such sweet melodic sounding voices. And lavie <3 My favorite girl character. Looking forward to Act II.

P.S: I love the artwork. It was brilliant!
Very glad to hear you enjoyed your time in the Kingdom of Galvenia! Please do feel free to follow the LAW page on Facebook if you'd like, for random updates and other little things here and there. :) Thanks for checking out Act I!
Oh my, this game is wonderful, I love it! **
Actualle I have lots of trouble with the Queen Worm because she is not only very strong but I have to see every time the long scene before the fight... pretty annoying. Can someone tell me some tips to slay this beast? Ryan's level is 11 and Juno's 10.
ps: sorry for bad english >.>
Hi there, I played this game like a year or so ago I believe and I really liked it, but I don't remember much of it. This re-vamp makes it seem almost like a new game. :-D Great stuff. Just a question about Armin's mechanics... is he supposed to have his thievery stuck at lvl 3 even though he's lvl 9 and I've seen him get "+2 to thievery" twice?
@Littlexwing, I like Lavie too haha

I think Armin's thievery skills do plateau at Level 3, yes.

And I wholeheartedly concur with all those who have declared their admiration of Lavie here! :-)

Since it's Christmas, here's my Christmas list for Act II (whenever it's released!)

1. More quests / play time as Lavie.
2. A Ryan / Armin quest to balance Ryan / Henrik from Act I.
Strange, kind of didn't make sense to me that lvl 3 was the max. Felt like it was a bug, since I had lvl 3 in the first area. I figured there had to be higher levels, like say up to 20 or something. Especially since I consistently fail to steal from some enemies.
Howdy NathanFrey, good to hear you're having fun so far! The Queen Worm is definitely a fearsome opponent, but it sounds like you've got the levels to beat her. If you're struggling with this one, I would suggest that you repeatedly clear out all the Shagath worms she spawns to ensure that they don't self destruct - Juno and Ryan can't take too much of that punishment. Juno's Bladestorm is ideal for that. If you have a Bang cartridge for Ryan, he can help as well. Otherwise, he should mostly heal himself and Juno and take a shot when he can. Finally, if you did a certain side-quest, you should have a Feather item that does Lightning damage, which this boss is weak against. Best of luck!

Kanifer: Always great to see former players return to check the revamp out. :) Yes, the good Professor is correct in noting that Armin's Thievery maxes out at Level 3, though if you got that in the first area, you're really persistent!

Professor Q: Hehe, well... Act II is not necessarily Lavie's time to shine, but she's not forgotten, certainly. And I really like the idea of an Armin/Ryan quest too, but I don't know that there's opportunity for such in Act II, either... Ah well, time will tell all things!

Merry Christmas to all by the way, and a Happy St. Mikhail's Day!

The Queen Worm is weak to lightning? Oh bother, I didn't know that. I just leveled Ryan up to 15, Juno to 12-13 or so, stocked up on healing items, and stood my ground. Talk about feeling stupid now. =)

As for Lavie and Act II - I do hope she gets to use that "Burning Arrow" at least once, even if she only has a small quest!
so did anyone find all the dog tags? I only have 1 and I've already defeated the queen worm or conquerer worm in the mines, and have a certain vegeta-like blue haired fellow in my party haha
oh, looks like i finished episode 1 and only had 1 dog tag... either I seriously missed out on some things or the rest will be in episode 2

It's been a long time since I played that particular part of LAW myself, but as far as I recall...

One of them is at Lake Derren, but you have to fight a creature to get it.
One more is hidden in Blackwater Park, during the Ryan/Lavie quest
One of them is found after defeating Easton Stokel at Straukpass
And one of them is in Mr. Ridane (the war veteran)'s house

(Note that these last two require you to take on the sidequests in the Explorer's Guild, otherwise you can't access those areas.)

I'm not sure where the other one is, but it was somewhere quite straightforward if I recall correctly.

Finding them all is rewarding, and strangely, is connected to the blue-haired Vegeta guy. Or at least, that's my theory. =)
Fight for four times and finally kill that worm! I didn't know how to get the feather, the only sub-quests I done are
The Explorer's green tasks and the other one when you have to find the three chests... are there any other sub-quests?
.
Anyway I
Kill Kodenai
and Juno is a badass, this game always surprise me ^^
