AMOONLESSNIGHT'S PROFILE

Hi all, I'm A-Moonless-Night, but you can call me Shannyn.

The name 'A Moonless Night' comes from the title of a story my cousin and I wrote together when we were about fifteen. It was about two cousins getting lost in the woods on the night of a full moon. Werewolf shenanigans ensued. No idea where an actual moonless night factored into the equation though. Well, the name stuck and it has been my username for every website I've frequented for the last five or six years.

About me? Well, I'm from little old Godzone in the southern hemisphere. I love reading and writing, with a particular love for Stephen King novels and poetry. I'm an avid proofreader - seriously, I love it. I foam at the mouth about it.

I don't like MMORPGs or first-person shooters. I particularly love platformers (especially Metroidvanias), RPGs, action games and point-and-click adventures. Some of my favourite games include Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap, the Tenchu series, Suikoden I and II, the Chzo Mythos (aka the John Defoe Quadrilogy), Minecraft, Age Of Empires, An Untitled Story and the Pokemon series.

Looks great. :) May I ask where the tiles are from?

This is actually terrifying. For some reason it reminds me of the first time Missingno appeared for me on Pokemon Blue.

I thought so; thought it was a bit too strange that there were knights in Pumpkin-town. :)

Looks awesome. Would be great if you had custom sprites to go with it: the XP sprites don't match.

If this is a Legion Saga fan-remake, why don't you use the Orb system from LSII and LSIII? I know there is a script for RPGVX at least that allows you have skill-learning equipment; pretty sure there would be one for Ace.

These tiles are stunning. Do you control a person or a cursor?

I agree with all the 'right-align' comments. But I must say, those graphics are impressive. The characters look real and relatable (and I don't even know anything about them). I also like how the men have face wrinkles; it's so refreshing in an art world swamped with anime-styled young people. And they have noses!

Thanks. :) It's all thanks to the freedom of parallax mapping (but you can still do great things with the editor; Enelysion and the original demo of Amulet of Athos are good examples).

Thanks, guys. :) I haven't animated the water yet, but I'm going to make the sea foam move back and forth. You'll be able to see it when I release a demo (which should hopefully be before the end of the year).

I made a taller sprite base and made one and half characters on it, but then I realised how much work it was going to be (since I'm spriting battlers and making faces) ... so I went back to the chibis. Glad they don't look too cutesy though!
