One day, I'll learn programming and make custom scripts and designs for my game to make it awesome.. for now, I'll just do with what I've got =]
I also happen to enjoy mapping, and music making!

Ok, I GIVE UP >< I can't seem to be able to enter the code to the security room... And yes, I did count the extra butterfly at the back and put the code in the order of the butterfly's life cycle (PRETTY SURE)...
Soo.... is it a bug? Am I doing something wrong :<?
Hey Shira! (LOUD! xD)
I'm sorry that you got stuck at that part, I've been watching the let's plays and felt pretty bad about all the bugs and stuff lol
Here's what happened,
You definitely had the right Idea on how to solve the puzzle, but your combination entry starts off from the butterfly (which is completely okay). Due to developer assumptions, all players were expected to begin counting from the "egg" to the "butterfly". In fact, I've changed that for version 2 (as well as making it easier to understand the solution) so that the players will know which cycle to start from =]
Other things I just wanted to say: I lol'd when I saw your reaction to trapping the kitty! Well, I feel bad. So I've changed that to making the cat follow the player around instead of catching it (still not released for download though. I've found myself kinda busy working with a project worth playing and grounded is now kind of left just as a competition entry). Thanks for the youtube uploads!! It was a great pleasure watching them while you played! esp the ending! =P
[Poll] Unofficial RMN All hallows' event voting poll
Well, least we all had a great time, no? =]
I'm just going to keep trying to build up a good fan base and continue to work on my horror games along with team abystree.. lol it's really funny seeing how people get shocked and all!
Cheers to everyone that participated! =D

Grounded Review
Thanks for the review, Fumaira!
I've read through it all and (open-heartedly) took all of your considerations for the next game! It's true, this game lacks BGM. But I can assure you that it's all fixed in the next version release (which I hope I can finish sometime soon if not for all the constant issues and obstacles preventing me from continuing)!
As for the story/plot, I really hope we could spice it up a bit more ;] Maybe I'll ask our team artist to make some character face sets (although I know that she is already busy working on a new project called "Brittle Faces" which is also a horror game for free)! We should have that game page up and running soon so you guys can get an Idea of what it looks like and how events may turn out. As always nothing is set in stone so suggestions are most definitely welcome! =D
I'm already adding in Punishments for hiding (in crazy or ridiculous places) and rewards for being clever with items that are discardable. We are also working on making more choices but the problem is we are kind of limited with what choices we can make for the main story. I guess we could make it something like "you see a towel thing here. your first and only choice would be to tear it apart if you don't have scissors and the result would be having to find a new towel" or something of the sort. I guess that would allow more "smart" decisions for the game. other punishments include wasting your time reading paper which has a random chance to make the stepfather appear.
Items of importance such as "problems that need to be solved" or "obtainable" things will sparkle =] I've been adding that nice little glow to everything important for the story progression but there will be secret hints and clues (or just call them rewards) that don't sparkle which will help give a better understanding main story puzzles and solutions (or maybe even lead to alternate endings, if possible!) =]
I'll also be sure to make the speed adjustments for the main character. Instead of having to press down "shift" while being chased... it will be automatic instead for the sake of convenience.
I'll admit. I was wrong about the 2 week estimation for V2. This may take a much longer time than I had hoped (rookie developer making bad time estimations), but I am hoping to see it all done soon. But I've got all the time I need to continue working on it with my spare time =D
Dou Itashimashite and you can bet I'll finish this version!

@luchia - That's pretty strange... whatever happened, it's because the launcher cannot find the required files to run the game.
This link will take you to the RTP-Material required for the game to launch.
Scroll down and select "RPGMaker VX Ace" as the program and download that.. this will give you all the required files in order to run my game (including all other games that lack basic material).
Sorry for the trouble!

_(:з」∠)_Hi~I can't find the second clue.I did what the Walkthrough said, but nothing happened, push the statue then I found nothing.:( Can you help me?
Hello Cleric!
I'm sorry that you had to encounter this bug (in fact.. you've helped me find an optional game-breaking bug!). The problem is that leaving the area after pushing the statue causes the event to reset and makes the "second clue" disappear permanently. This will be patched up next version so that you may leave and return to finish the quest!
In order to avoid this conditional bug, you have to retrieve the second clue immediately after pushing the statue from underneath (currently the only possible way to avoid this conditional game-breaking bug. You may also chose to cheat and skip all the clue quests by referring to the "spoiler" below).
Or you could just enter the vault solution from the walkthrough and bypass all the hidden clue quests (1-4) and continue the game. If you've done far too much and would like to keep your progress, I'd recommend this temporary solution.
Thank you for helping me find both of these bugs!

i love love love this game but i cant play it because every time i click game. it says "unable to find Gothic font" pls help.
Hello Luchia!
Just wondering what kind of computer are you using? It appears that your computer is lacking the appropriate font (which normally comes with all the computers). Have you tried installing Microsoft Word? By doing so, it should download all the necessary fonts on your computer required for this game to run =]
Hope that helps! =]
Grounded Review
Thanks for the review, Kyugoroku! Although I'm pretty sure the overall community would rate this game about 3 stars or something, I'm still happy that you enjoyed the game =]
I've got to say, making music a part of the game atmosphere really should have been implemented... it would have added a good taste to the game keeping the player on guard (and I can guarantee that there WILL be more music for the next version. Being that this the first game we've made, there are quite a number of areas that need to be worked on and we get that from all the reviews you guys make (and some let's plays/comments left behind from others)!
These suggestions are all amazing btw! esp the one about having multiple endings and a punishment/reward for decisions made in the game =D Since we already have the chase system created... might as well have some fun with it, right? (For a punishment choice, we could make reading useless newspaper = time wasted. result after leaving the room = surprise chase scene)! Or how about make decisions the character make affect the end game choices?
And because I haven't really been active lately.. It's because we've moved on to working on our main project again (the project we had before this competition). I'm really thankful for this competition, though. It helped us realize that we need to improve our ability to "guide" the players (without actually telling them what to do!) in the right direction. Our main project is also a horror game... but we've had more than 2-3 months to plan out the back-story and everything... So I guess, this game, Grounded, is just a quick reveal (rough draft) of the main project we've been working on for sometime now ;]
Anyways! I really Love your suggestions and I'll keep note of them (acutually, I'm gonna steal em for our next game too!) to make a better, more enjoyable game in the not-so-near-nor-far (inevitable) future~! =]

you're game is really awesomeee! haha i cnt stop playing til i finish the puzzle.
I'm kinda stuck ini wpuld be so glad if you could take me hints or answer my question :D|the vault's code and the vault clue seems not connected, or im just really stupid not knowing it >< coz the money is in the vault and i cant get a way to open it.
Btw this game is really awesome, and must a featured game :) i hope you will continue to make games like this one. coz this is really interesting XD i might works some fan art of the character too when im done playing this. And a review too :)
Haha, I'm glad that you're enjoying the game so far! I'd love to hear about your review (esp the artwork! I'm a big fan of people like you =]) honest feedback and criticism will surely help me improve the game as I continue working on the next version ^^ Thank you for the support, Kyugoroko!
And here you go, hope this helps you out a bit! =]
The vault clue can be deciphered after collecting all the clue pieces (you can initiate the quest by finding the "first piece" inside the same room, under the table). Once all four notes are collected, you may then decipher the vault combination (hint: the left side represents which vault numbers take precedence over the others)
Good luck and have fun! (Minor note: game is currently being upgraded as we speak... there will be some drastic changes with the next release (more detailed here), but criticism and feedback will greatly help with making changes to the next version) =D

@Shayoko - Thanks for the feedback! We too are happy about having her as the protagonist =] But I wouldn't expect too much from this game in it's current version (we really had only a month to make this from scratch... so it won't have all the features we had hoped to give it). Version 2.0 is on its way which will include a much better gaming experience, more music for the game and even more scares! Hopefully you could wait a bit longer for version 2.0 (it will be a blast and will totally be worth the time!) =D
@Mizumori - The walkthrough is out, but version 2.0 is also making its way out too!! Hopefully you could wait just a week or two longer till the release (As mentioned more descriptively here)! Although version 1.1 is playable... It still needs to have several more upgrades and improvements to the dialogue (needs foreshadowing hints and better goals). I really don't mind if you just want to play the game though, I still think that version 1.0 contains everything it needs for a good game (esp since the walkthough is out now!) =D
Alright then... time to get started on version 2.0. Feel free to leave a comment / suggestion / bug report! The experience you have with the game is really important! I'll do the best I can to make it a good game for everyone (I might have to change the status to 'development' for version 2 if possible.)

Thank you for the review, Marrend!
You are definitely right about the BGM being scarce. I also agree that the game does not live up to it's expectations (not even my own expectations). I had hoped to make a game with: a stable save system, punishments for hiding in wrong spots, options with life-threatening results, and more chase scenarios when foolish actions are made... but that was just impossible given that we only had less than a week to start making and finish before the 31st.
I'll try to update this game and continue doing so until it becomes the horror game I had hoped to make in the beginning (version 2 will be the one I hope). Till then, thank you for the review for this version... I will be sure to change up the game as much as I can based on this review. It will take some time, but It will be done and I have you to thank for helping me see from a different perspective =]

do you have any full spoiler, please? I'm stuck with the first chasing guy D:
I see that the game is getting a lot of people stuck right off the beginning... (did you make sure you have the latest download available? version 1.0 has plenty of game-breaking bugs!) I will make a walkthrough for the game, I shall get it finished by today and post the link up for people to see =]
Thank you for the suggestion! Oh, and here's what you need to do after the first chase:
You have to find a hiding spot in one of the following rooms (surgery room 1, 2, ??? room 1, 2, and your starting room. Currently, this version only has hiding spots under beds and cabinets (though only a few actually have space large enough for the character to hide in) Hope this helps you out!
