over.

I don't know if this is worth the trouble, maybe add some kind of field of vision to the scorpion? E.g: unless the player is within the cone of vision (MGS-style), the scorpions won't give chase. Or make the scorpions go away faster when the player is hiding in tall grass.

The Difficult Second Quest

Played it, loved it.
Might wanna get this checked

Do you think up of an ending before you start a story?

Like in tweening where you have two keyframes. Do you have a planned end in mind every time you start writing a new story and just make aconnection between the start and the end. Or do you slowly develop the story as it goes along?

over.

Just finished it. Defeated the last guy and found the final note, took a couple retries and eventually killed the boss using my badass assault rifle. Overall, a good game, I had fun playing it. Although, I wish those scorpions weren't chasing me like heat-seeking missiles.

Pro-tips (Move along if you enjoy a good challenge):

Save often, I guess.

You hit harder when your stamina is full, Use this opportunity to dispatch those flowers without wasting ammo.

IMHO, Food > Grenades > Bullets > Medicines

I feel like it is better to finish off the scorpions early rather than wasting your stamina waiting for them to go away

There are 2 chests directly below where you start. Get them as soon as possible.

Dead Space

So last week, I picked up a copy Dead Space at a bargain bin for $3.
For those who never played the game, it is basically Resident Evil 4 in SPACE.

Anyway, popped the game into my PS3 and for shits and giggles started my first playthrough of the game on the hardest difficulty setting available. Now the whole thing feels like an abusive relationship to me, mainly because I just can't stand jump scares and this game has TONS of 'em - I can never play for more than an hour and somehow I keep finding myself wanting to go back, craving for more. But as soon I loaded my save file and made some good progress and can't stop thinking stuff like "Why do I keep doing this to myself? Now I can't turn off the game, because if I turn of the game now I'm gonna lose all my progress.".

I wonder if it is because Dead Space is actually a well-designed game or I'm just starting to lose my mind?

I'm now on Chapter 10.

Should a game be completely transparent with its mechanic?

Zidane's Thievery skill from FFIX is one of the main reason why I made this topic.

For those who don't know, the skill's damage output dependent on how many times you successfully steal from the enemy. And of course, the game hides this fact from you.

Don't get me started on Lucky 7.

This looks pretty neat! Is it told in a pseudo-comic style with frames of different scenes? If so, that's pretty interesting.
And a custom battle system to boot? Neat!

No love for 8-bit theater web-comic?

Looking for a Tester (/slave)

Can I jump in? If it's a 2k3 game I can even offer you some advice.

Square-Enix Decides To Give All SaGa Fans A... whole new game! Imperial SaGa, that is. (and it's not online!)

Yes, because he's been doing the music for SaGa since forever with little exception. Was anyone expecting differently?

I'm well aware of that. I just like Hamauzu works better.
*looks at username* I thought you would understand...

FINAL FANTASY ALL THE BRAVEST 2!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh god no.

Should a game be completely transparent with its mechanic?

Should it show the player all kinds of hidden values, hidden mechanics, etc.?

E.g:
Enmity from FF XII http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Enmity_%28Term%29

Cheers.
