Rouge Rogue Rabbit Puncher

I love the title. Shall play soon.

EDIT: Or .. not.
First by default, it does not run as I get a message that the fullscreen mode makes problems. I then change the configuration and get the game in window-mode .. but then I can't interact with it. My ability to can is gone.

Any solutions?

If the various options in config.exe don't work, there is a way to change the resolution to be smaller than the usual 1600x900. By openning up the startup/game.sgm file in a text editor (eg: notepad, wordpad, etc.), you can explicitly set the resolution of the game. Change the screen_width and screen_height to be some resolution that your monitor/graphics card can support (perhaps 1280x720), save the file and then run the game again. The only issue with this method is that the title screen's overlay may not draw correctly if the resolution is too low, but the rest of the game will be fine (you just won't see as much on the screen at once).

How many endings are there?

Aside from:
> Shoot yourself
> Fight the black mass thing

And what happened to Davis ? @_@

There's really only two endings. If you make it to the second ending on hard you get an expanded version of it. In the 1.1 patch, this will unlock an achievement and you'll be able to replay it (along with it's catchy tune) from the menu.

As for Davis, he's probably at a coffee shop somewhere. ¯\(°_o)/¯

rpgmaker.net needs your help (again)!

Just subscribed. I just dump all my games on here (with two exceptions, since they're non-rpg, custom engine games), and I really don't want to have to find a new place to host them online.

Very cool idea. Though as I look at your maps all I can think is, I want to use that city scape for my City Rampage game idea.
Go ahead. I wanted to make more detailed buildings, and I did go a bit in that direction at first, but it was taking too long and I wasn't getting it to look good enough for my tastes, so I just slashed it down to white and gray buildings. Very easy to make and modify too.

I love jam games! I'll give this a play a bit later. what made you keep this to yourself for two years, though?

Laziness.

And to be honest, I only posted it now since I wanted to post my most recent TOJam game, but realized I hadn't posted my last one yet. :S

Same problem here. I wanted to start the game but all I got was a black screen and when I tried to do something it gave no response so I had to close it again. Might be a little bit late but it would be great if someone could help c:

This is usually a problem with the graphical, or audio settings that the engine is using. Running config.exe and changing the video driver and/or changing the audio driver used will often fix this if the freezing black screen issue persists. From what I've gathered, changing the audio driver to winmm in these cases is the usual fix.

ANOTHER gaming company got hacked...

Well, what they're likely doing is trying to get as many names of people/usernames and passwords as they can so they can hack into other systems. If they wanted to hack into say Microsoft/whatever, then there's a good chance that a developer/manager/whoever that works at Microsoft has a psn account/wii account, etc. and they're using the same password as what's on that system. So, if you get a bunch of usernames and passwords from these other systems, they look for someone who works at company X who's in their database of passwords (say John Smith), guess the correct username (say jsmith), and they're in.

Of course, it's more complicated than that, but having that many people-password pairs has got to be a hacker's dream.

What's the Point?

It takes a few days to learn the ins and outs of a program like rm2k3. It takes years to learn how to make a good game.

When a game developer is looking to hire a game designer, they're going to be looking at various things that person has made (for example, fps levels, rts maps, mods, rpg maker games, and anything else you can pretty much think of). From their perspective, they want to know what the person is capable of with a tool they're familiar with. Most companies make their own tools for designing levels/maps/quests in their game, so they'll have to train the person they're hiring with those tools anyway, so what they want is someone who they know will be able to make good stuff once they've been trained to use what they have.

As said though, most people do it for a hobby, and rm2k3 is a good way of starting to make rpgs, and making rpgs of decent length.

Homosexuality and the workplace

Either you think homosexuality is acceptable in your society or it's not. If someone being openly gay in your workplace is an issue for you in any way, then you don't believe in homosexuality being ok in your society. You are homophobic. Period.

I don't care if you find the thought of two guys kissing disgusting. Maybe you should try to not find it disgusting and try to show some empathy for once.

Im new to the site and I have read alot of good things about this game, I was wondering if there is a how to guide to install it?

Just download, extract the zip to a folder of your choosing, and run engine.exe.

where will you be going when rmn shuts down?

Once I figure out something for hosting my games, I'll likely move towards the community at TIGSource, and keep up a small presence on Spherical. I still don't know what to do about promotion though (Spherical's too small and tigsource is too crowed to gain attention).
