Projects to finish before leaving rpg maker:
1)Left Behind 2 - A game about love (A remake, the original was only 80% finished)
2)Route Through Peaks - A game about letting go (60% finished, currently on hiatus)

For my next game, I would like to have hud in reminescent of the one from Ultima 3, 4, 5. I guess it is possible to do with pictures and it would require custom message boxes. That would be moar pictures. So, if there were a bigger amount of pictures than small, it would be lot of bytes.
Hud, to be of any use, would supplement original menu. That means it would have to change with every hit, item and so on.
Is it worth it? Is it easier to do than it looks with common events?

Soda Time!
Sportsmen as we are can't drink alcohol. So, RMN's Soda Bar have been opened. You can have any soft drink, you prefer. So what's your coke of choice?
Enjoy the Bubbles!
Some of my suggestions for a delicate sip are:
It looks like an energy drink, which it isn't. It's definitely made of gummy bears and it tastes delightful. You can get Bru in Scotland only and that makes the experience of drinking one even better.
It tastes like an ordinary RC cola and it does perfectly fit with my varsity jacket. It's a must have for me at any venue.
It's proved that Lemon Soda is radioactive and many of its regular consumers turned into a walking bulb. It's so sour and I love it.

[Event] Chain of Love
Ok, I don't know, how to do this. So, I inspired myself with Dudesoft's thread. However my aim with this isn't to make something epic. I'm pretty reasonable in my goals. And I want to bake this with love, because it's
Chain of Love
This, sums it up. As for the discussion, we can use #Chainoflove IRC Channel (SynIRC), PMs and once it is set up, gamepage.
I will probably create shared Dropbox folder for passing. If someone prefers not to use Dropbox, I can send the project folder to him via Mediafire.
Now, It's time for some details:
Each participant will make a segment in the overall game
There are no time limits. Your part can be shorter than my morning shower. There are rules for this, tho. You need to include one dungeon area (it can be puzzle, classic dungeon with battles or anything else with some content), one safe area (town, merchant's house et cetera) and one story-pushing dialogue. You can include more of any of these.
You have ONE WEEK to finish your segment
You have seven days to play finished parts, plan out yours, make it happen and test it. Also this sounds viable:
You will work with RPG Maker VX Ace
As this one is the most common maker. It brings some setbacks and use of scripts can get messy sometimes, but it's our safest bet in terms of dynamics of working process.
Database and Scripts are opensource
Anyone can add to the database and no one can delete from it. Anyone can add scripts, which don't break the game. Don't work with switches and variables used by the others.
You can add cameos and hints in already made segments after a discussion with their creators.
You can do anything with the story
You can make all characters pregnant and take it completely different way. Let them settle down, make marriages Game of Thrones style, fill the game with newcomers. However try to keep some continuity and develop story further. In case you are clueless contact your fellow devs on IRC.
Graphics will be RTP styled
Anyone who wants to contribute with custom faces, sprites, battlers, tiles or anything else is more than welcome.
Music is opensource
You may add music and you mustn't remove it. Use small files (ogg is recommended), so the folder won't become gargantuan.
And once again Dudesoft's wise words:
Signing up
To make this happen, you are needed. Choose which part do you want to make. I want to have three segments finished before IGMC launches. I'm expecting to take break there as everyone will be working on an entry.
I'm not taking the first slot right away, so claim it, if you want. Also there is this rule, that the game will be passed on the next person, if you won't deliver your part in time. There is no given number of segments/slots.

Chain of Love
author=Dudesoft
So this EVENT will be a pretty lengthy endeavor. Basically, we will be EXPECTING to take months on this.
Together, we will build a game, each of us taking turns to add a new segment. The project folder including the entire RMN Chain Game will be passed from one person to the next.
We can openly discuss what we are working on with each other, so that we all have ample time to vaguely plan our segments. However, it might be best to -not- jump the gun and work on your project maps before your turn, because you will likely not know what you're following!

Apple II sound capabilities (VST plug-in)
So, I would like to know this and I can't find an answer anywhere (or I'm dumb). I need to make some tracks imitating Ol' Apple's limitations.
Do you know what they were? On Wiki i found something about music cards and how they did enhanced it. That is not what interests me. I want to know about the built-in chip (it probably depends on model)
My questions are:
How many channels did it disposed with?
Do you know any VST plug in or sample pack?
There are some examples of great Apple 2 soundtracks:
Karateka has the feel, I'm likely to aim for the most.
Ultima IV has very clean sound.
There are some brilliant bits in Space Quest (1:38)
This may seem to be chaotic or that i don't know what i want. The truth is, that I don't know too much about microcomputers and the oldest computer I have is a win95 laptop. I'm planning on buying one (probly something slightly awkward like Amstrad CPC). So, any advice is welcomed.
Edit: I found this comment on youtube, which is pretty interesting.

wonder how many simultaneous notes this player achieved. I remember having a hard time cranking 6502 code capable of holding two simultaneous notes (you had to properly time "clicks" on the buzzer by writing/reading to an I/O location, $C020 or $C030, IIRC). It was hard, and this player had a good result. Ever used Musicomp for Apple II?
What is Tactical RPG Editor?
Earlier today, I was catching an internet wave and bumped into this shark:
Tactical RPG Maker
It claims to be successor to Sim Maker and looks pretty interesting. Do you know it? Does someone have any experience with it?

Chain of Love (The New RMN Chain-Game)
I'm here with an offer, question maybe.
I want to ask you, whether you would be interested in another chain-game. There are some fresh faces, who didn't participated in past efforts, such as me. Some of these efforts turned out pretty well (Chain of Retribution), other haven't been finished yet(The RMN Chain-Game).
There is lot of community driven projects going on, like Wyrm Warriors, Befuddle Quest 7, Pokemon, Fast Times... None of them is a chain-game. What I want to discuss with you in this thread is not only whether you would like to take a part. I'm also interested:
-how many parts (chapters) the game should have
-how many parts should one participant make
-how long each chapter should be (30-90 mins?)
-how much time should be a participant given to finish a taken part
-what setting would you like to see (Western meets fantasy, Arum, Lovecraft...)
-which engine would we use
-whether you want to work with RTP or custom graphics or rips
Also you can read this topic, Dudesoft wrote it down with a brill.
My personal preferences is to have a smaller amount of participants (5-10), two weeks for each of them. I would like to create some basics before kicking out too. Like some actors and the setting. I really like absurd combinations where Sci-fi meets fantasy or western, elves dealing with an apocalypse and so on. Also I'm open to use Arum Universe as starting point settling down some limitations. In that case I would like to use the southern continent and place some locations there.
As for the engine, I would stick with Ace. However I would like to alter graphics somehow. Maybe resizing some 2k3 rips or classic chipsets. There are some nice Ace tilesets too (this is not so hot now as the setting should set the limitations).

Zen Games
What do you think about these walking simulators? Like games where is nothing in particular for you to do. You can just walk around and enjoying your moves and beauty of unknown, haunting countryside. There is not any special goal or way to win the game.
I write this cuz I really like walking around in my own games before putting content in. Just listening to some music while walking. I like some other game built upon this as well and I'm annoyed when content is forced to player in these exploration based games.

Night of the Living Dead Phones
Do you remember them? Of course you do. Otherwise You are four years old and can't read anything else, but Apple's logo. Maybe Android's logo either. The big return of Egyptian hieroglyphs, to say my opinion.
What I want to write about. These were good times fer our pockets. Today everyone has black shining piece of display without any significant design. They are monitoring us, tracking us through these tools of uniformity. But that's not what I'm worried about tonite. I've only felt nostalgic fer superb style of old cellies. Beautiful plastic bodies of Nokias and Siemenses.
Which were your fav designs? Phones you owned and games you played on em? Here are some of my tips:
Nokia N-Gage
This phone was genius. I think It wasn't ever surpassed. Of course It was useless fer texting and hanging on the telephone. It was piece of art fer gamers. Just the idea and the style.
Sony Ericsson S600
Just look at that construction. I know, I'm all about the look.
Siemens M55
Very practical and nice looking model with attachable camera. It had revolutionary resolution of 0.3mpx. It could be connected to internet.
Sony Ericsson K750i
I had this one. It was damn popular in my country. Everyone had its K750. The Camera was really good back then and had some funky frames. I made about two thousands pics with it and several animated movies which i was editing in phone's editor. It was so rad. And games I was playing on it. There were many. From classic Playmen to slightly erotic toboggan game. I haven't got such a working and reliable cell phone since.
One more question. Do you think there will be a return of classic dumb phones? There certainly is a place on the market for some cool models with working keyboard.

Tell me your MMO story
So, I'm redownloading Age of Conan right now. I haven't plaid it for some years and I wonder how it is right now and whether I'll be able to jump in again. I wasn't one of these long time players. Frankly, I stayed with it for one intense week full of delicious fight and other memories. I liked it so much back then.
It started my marathon of trying of various MMOs. And so it happened I tried over forty of them in the single month. And wrote an article about it on my Posterous. Good Old Times with Posterous. I haven't come across such a good blogging site since.
So what is my story? It all started with Dark Elf, an predecessor of Travian, which we playd illegaly at school. It wasn't fun and your account was sent to hell after three days of inactivity. You could buy yourself ticket from it via text message.
Then I had chat with some of my classmates. They got me in Runescape. I was returning to this all time Evergreen. However I've never became a premium member and now really spent plentifora of time with it (in contrary to my classmates. They were weeks off school, just to play Runescape. One of them spent pretty much whole eight years of grammar school playing it).
I haven't plaid any MMO games for few years, I guess. But then they came. Ago of Connan followed by a massive tidal wave of free to play titles. I tried Perfect's world whole catalogue, a week with naval themed games, the whole portfolio of gPotato. I played one of their games day before they were shutting all their servers down. It was pretty funny game and it's emptiness was haunting. I met one player. We had some elemental chat. We didn't mention that this world is about to end.
I tried more. DC Universe, Both Everquests, Chains of Camelot (total hidden gem) and all games from three other Asian publishers.
The last time, I returned to MMO playing was roughly about an year ago with Stronghold Kingdoms. It's not a good game in any possible way. I ended up spending several hours a day playing on multiple servers. This time I was active member of a guild. That was the only fun this game offered me. I got crushed by Russians, tho. And with no power, there was no fun. I left.
I know, it's not an interesting story. What interests me more are your stories. What are your fav MMOs? Do you still play em? Do you have any Leroy Jenkins experience?

SEX! and your favourite scenes involving it.
Of lately, I'm in process of writing a screenplay. What was the hardest thing and kind of dilemma whether to include or not and to figure out how to write it anyway (it's just writing, so it can sound like porn and some scripts, I read, sound so.
And yeah, what is this thread about? Share your favorite amongst bed scenes. They can be from films, series, video games. Here are some of mine. They are rather awkward.
-The Last Picture Show
-Kika
-Ride To Hell Retribution
-Fast Times at Ridgemont High
(there are more, but I probably can't post these from Blue is The Warmest Color or other European Flicks).
