Funky Weapon and Armor Ideas
Haha, neat ideas. I think I've made my choice but I'll keep on waiting until tomorrow to see what the others have in mind.

Hey guys,
I'm looking for some funny/original weapon and armor ideas for Slimongo.
So far I've got:
Weapon:
-Boxing Glove
Armor:
-Underwear
-Chef Har
-Friday 13th mask
I'd like to hear you guys idea, the more original the better. It should still be considered a weapon though. If possible, it should be a weapon which is not really emblematic to other games such as overalls for Mario or the baseball bat for Earthbound.
Looking forward to reading your creative ideas! If I take one of your ideas, you'll have a small cameo in the actual game (your name or your project).

@UPRC: My memory must be faulty because I could have sworn someone with your username displayed some mad pixel skills in the forum.
Anyhow, could you give more detail about what you want? It's really vague right now. I think answering the following questions might help:
1. Which final fantasy (nes/snes)? This might help to better determine the number of colors/style.
2. What size do you want the battler to be?
3. Why not provide a description of your final boss? That way you won't have to explain things for every PM you get (although I suppose you could copy/paste your answer but might as well have it here).

Honestly, I just started two days ago so I think I still have looong way to go.

1. The heart.
So I thought it was too small and the text was difficult to read so I followed up to some of your comments and redid it entirely. I think the shape and shading is generally speaking better.

2. The boxing gloves.
As ゆひかる mentioned, it really did lack contrast.
So I actually went ahead and added a third color (it had only two) and changed the other colors to add some contrast/readability.

3. The money bag.
Let's face it, the first version sucked. I was lazy and just wanted it done and over with and it shows. I decided to redo completely as well. I opted for a Canadian dollar sign as US dollar sign was taking too much room on the front of the bag.

As you can see, your comments are not only read but also put into action. Again, I'd like to hear your comments as to how to improve.

I don't really see why anyone would disagree about the part in bold to be honest.

Thank you very much yuhikaru for the in depth feedback. I'm not going for flat things :). I'll fix them all, I agree with your observations.
Those are the icons for HP and MP. Not happy with the readability of the word ''Chi'' on the second. Will need to mess about with it for a while.

I'll try drawing one of the protagonists in that style (what is there to lose?)
There's nothing to lose but the manga influence in your game which would certainly be for the best. The style of your critters is a lot more fresh and unique than those manga characters we see in 3 out of 4 projects. It would be so awesome to see the rest of the game not only coherent in style but also showing off graphics with character and personality.
This, of course, is my personal bias.
EDIT for under: Nobody? Nah, trust me, manga characters are the norm when it comes to RPG Maker, regardless of the community. As I said, I personally prefer people who develop something different and unique. Not that people who draw manga-style are wrong or something.
