International Contest?

But then people will know from which community the game comes from and it'll influence their judgment.

I believe the only way to avoid foul play is to avoid text altogether. Games could simply be numbered.

Don't you think?

International Contest?

Or... I could be the only one who knows who made which games. Since there won't be any text it would be impossible for members to tell who did what... unless people who participate show screens of their stuff.

We could then ask members to vote. I'm just not comfortable with having only a few people to judge the whole contest (should it take place).

I also would want to make sure that people don't quit which is why it should be a simple thing.

I'd say 4 communities:
Oniromancie
RMN
Atelier
That Italian forum...

I we get too ambitious the whole thing would get out of hand and collapse.

I think teams should be compulsory. It woud limit the participants and probably provide a better result.

International Contest?

Yes, I do think it would be interesting.

I'm wondering how to deal with the judges. If judges all come from the same community, people will call foul play. Same thing if we ask members to vote...

Any ideas about what process to use to rate the games?

International Contest?

There's the language barrier problem. But then again, it could be a game without text but that'd be a challenge...

I've found the Chinese communities and I'm looking for the Japanese ones. I've also found an Italian community.

I'd need to help to cover the languages I can't handle.

International Contest?

Sorry if this isn't the right section, feel free to move.

What do you think if we had a contest involving both Oniromancie and RMN? I thinking about a contest like the one that gave birth to «Les Yeux Sans Visage». Something along the lines of having a few teams (from both communities) compete.

Perhaps with a Christmas theme?

I'm thinking about some very small games here, nothing to time consuming.

It just seems to me like a really good idea and I could create a twin thread over at Oniromancie.

I haven't fleshed out the details yet but I was just wondering if the idea was appealing to you guys (if people would participate).

Omega Cerberus

It's fully translated...

I'm torn about whether I should do a beta or not but I really can't be bothered to go over the script again...

I guess I could upload it as is but I'd be unfair to Sill Valt if it the text was messed up.

Bonjour!

はくま?Did you mean 悪é"?What's a くさなぎ?
Nice menu, would be interested to know the origin of that weapon and armour name there.

My community (Oniromancie)

There's no doubt Damien (Indy) is making cash but I also think that Aedemphia is more refined.

There's something I've been meaning to talk to you about, the screenshot of the week.
Every week members can participate in a screenshot contest where they submit a screenshot. The winning screenshot is then added to the database and showed all week on the front page.

Here's the link for the current contestants for this week:

The theme this week is something d4rk. It's a bit of a running joke but it means something... you know... dark, like calunio's stuff. Anyways, I'm sure you get it.

I already suggested to YDS that she should participate but I would really appreciate if some of you joined in the fun. I'd be great to see more contestants and a competition which becomes a bit more fierce.

Bonjour!

Alright well I might as well introduce myself.

My real name is Etienne and I'm actually a guy from Quebec (Canada). That's the French speaking part of Canada for those who are not familiar with Canada.

Me:

I'm passionate about languages. I travelled many places to learn languages, starting with English (England, Scotland, Australia, America). I then went to China to learn Chinese for about 4 years. I'm quite ashamed to say my Chinese isn't as good as it should be and that's something I'm ashamed of. I also worked in Tokyo for a while but didn't stay for long.

I love Japanese and study it as a hobby. I think it's decent now.

I don't play games anymore but I'm interested in the creation process it involves.
