I've tried brute forcing all the numbers on the floor, left to right. It didn't work, did you change the code on the toolbox? I can send all the ones I've tried.

Sorry for the late response. The correct answer is 394. How/Why? When standing in the corners, your lantern only lit up those 3 numbers, from left to right.

Datau; I've read and I am hearing you. In the newest version, I added a short hint for the toolbox puzzle (maybe this helps future players). When interacting with the mirror in the tv room, Felix now points out that there is something hanging on the wall behind. While it may be well hidden, when playing the game the next time, you don't have to do anything to get the key, you just simply know where it is. It's meant to be easy to get once you know WHERE it is.

However, I'm still glad you liked it and I'm happy you are honest, thank you. =)

lycorisaurea; The tempo hint for the piano is in the library. The puzzle page has the solution to 3 of the puzzle in the game, you could check that out if it maybe helps you (it has the teddy for example)

I did start writing a walkthrough, but it became a big mess. Check out the media tab maybe?

What ending is it you always get? Could be easier to help you if I knew that.

Standing in the corners will hide all the irrelevant numbers. The toolbox leads you to another room, and the inside of that room will in turn lead you to yet another room, so there are rooms you haven't been in yet.
Thanks for the tip! Not that it really helped, because I still could't figure out how to use it. :P

However, now that I was certain of which numbers were not present in the solution, the next most logical move was to tackle the problem via brute force (I.E. to try each combination of each certain number). And it was surprisingly effective, if a bit slow.

Now onto another question: What is "the deadliest word"? One would imagine the answer to be deducible from the books and the notes within the house, but apparently this is not the case...

I don't mind a challenge, but obscure mechanics in puzzles make for one hell of a stonewall.

The toolbox numbers aren't brute force, they are in the correct order in the room (from left to right). Just sayin.

The deadliest word is a play on words puzzle. The correct answer is sword.

As the creator of the puzzles, I can't really say what's obscure or not. Maybe my way of thinking is very different from everyone else. It would explain a lot.

Hello.

I am stuck on the toolbox puzzle. There's three sets of three numbers on the floor and three other sets of two numbers, always on the floor. I can't seem to understand what I am supposed to do.

I *think* I have looked everywhere else too, because otherwise I wouldn't know how to open the door with a two hole mechanism, nor how to get Marcus' Orb. And if there's a use for the rope, then I haven't figured it out either. :(

Am I missing something obvious?

Standing in the corners will hide all the irrelevant numbers. The toolbox leads you to another room, and the inside of that room will in turn lead you to yet another room, so there are rooms you haven't been in yet.

The rope has a function, that's all I'll say without spoiling.

I just wanted to say that I'm really liking the game so far. It's scary, oppressive and unbelievably atmospheric, and I'll be sure to write a review as soon as I manage to beat it!

Thanks, looking forward to it.

The number of times you've had to send people the answers to certain puzzles, the teddy bear appearing to the worst offender. It makes sense for you to create a page here and put all the puzzle answers on it in separate hide tags, that way if someone is stuck they can access that particular puzzle answer without seeing the rest and without having to wait for a PM from you.

You are right. It's been out for a while now, so I guess I should do that.

I feel like a wimp...I need the code for 'Mother''s room, I need help with the teddy bear room and the door across from said teddy bear room. Last I checked, the guy in the mask was bashing his head against the bookshelf.

I'll send you a PM with some help, PM me back if there is anything else. :)

I'm not gonna lie, I saw the answer to the mother closet with the "pebble" riddle.
Just curious, how do you come across that answer because I can't figure it out? Legitimately I'd like the know the process to that. Seriously, you have good puzzles, just probably something I'm missing or skipping over.

I'll send you a PM.
