Comic project thingy

I actually like the original better- I guess it sortof has that "newspaper comic" feel to its grittiness. The new one looks pretty much like any other webcomic- the lines also might be a bit too blurry. If you were to start an actual webcomic or something, doing it in the style of the first could be pretty unique.

Item carrying restriction

As I see it, restricting players is never a good thing. A player will never WANT to have to choose to throw away an item. Lots of people out there will jump at the idea of limiting items in their game because it's just one more CUSTOM SYSTEM or whatever but honestly it doesn't add to the gameplay- it takes away from it, and quite literally (ohoho).

I'm fine with the reasonable limits- as many item types as you want, 99 or so of each. I mean there's no reason to have 99 anyway, so it's pretty much limitless as it is.

Help Desk For Newbies

YES!
Fuck was that game ever finished. It was so cool (unless it really wasn't cool and I just think it was because it was so long ago).

Hello there, hope the site grows :-)

Personally, I was never overly fond of tutorials.

I find the most effective learning tool is to download other people's work and dissect them.

You can see ingame what those functions DO and then look at the events to see how they did it. I've learned more by doing this than I've picked up from tutorials.

Yeah man, back in the day I downloaded that old irc based game with the ABS and that's pretty much how I learned variables. That and the caterpillar system in Jay's Journey.

Okay, but it's worth mentioning that in the years since I made Maranda, the only other "games" of this type I've ever been aware of were Onehours or crappy little 5-minute RTP projets slung around GW.

There were two or three really decent ones on RMXP.org actually. It was sad that they didn't have any gameplay to tell the truth because visually and sylistically they kicked every other RMXP game's ass.

RPGS... you've beaten

Pokemon: Blue
Pokemon: Red
Pokemon: Gold
Pokemon: Emerald
Paper Mario
Paper Mario 2
Grandia II

Pretty sure that's it.

Japan Time

Even the rotating Metroid stage was cool.

It's probably my favorite stage, if only because it's hilarious when it glitches and people fall through the entire thing.

Japan Time

I'm looking forward to this game. A couple of my friends are really into Melee, going to national tournaments and stuff. One of them is ranked the best in Connecticut, I think. I used to be just as good as them, too- like four years ago. Then I stopped having time to play as much and they just kept getting better. I suck at the game now.

So I'm hoping to pick up Brawl early, and with the online play I plan to keep up with the times. :)

Also Mega Man better not be in it. I hate that guy. I'm still mad that Snake is in the game. If any non-Nintendo character fits, it would be Sonic, but I like the feel of it being strictly Nintendo characters.
