Cootie Patootie

Does Cootie Patrootie hook up with Fido Dido?
... damn I'm old:( Nobody's going to know who that is.

EDIT1: Just started playing. I'm seriously like 30 seconds in and I'm already laughing my butt off with my teeth cracking.

One odd thing though. You'll need other people's input on this but to me it really sounds like the voice is saying "cutie"

EDIT2: I got up to the... ummm... dinosaur-esque thing. It's really interesting, a+ for audio and there's a good unsettling feeling. Using checkpoints instead of saves is interesting too.

I'm not a fan of the style of chase you used for the dinosaur-esque thing. You get going really good and then you're just outright screwed. Try again. But to make matters worse (something that isn't your fault at all) I meant to exit fullscreen when I accidentally hit F5 instead of F4. Damnit, MV why the heck did they have to put the "ruin everything" button right beside the "hit semi-frequently" button.

Anyway, I'll come back to this later. So far considering it's an event entry it's pretty cool.

EDIT3: Also, it's it Patootie or Patrootie?

This is my type of scene. Giving RPG Maker the giant middle finger and forcing it to do what you want. Beautiful.

As for it standing out, I agree. But in this case I'd say the trade-off is well worth it. The only solution I can think of is to have 100% of the graphic assets made by a single person. And take it from me that adds years to your release date.

I think it works because of the webby overlay. Perhaps if the fangs were white?

Trick & Treat Review

Good to know and thanks. I figured it was either extra content that I was missing or something that was cut. Ugh my game is barely out of draft and it already has cut area. I think that type of stuff is pretty much unavoidable.

I mistook these other witches for preliminary designs of the characters. Good to know that you have so many characters already lined up. I can't decide on a favourite but Andrea is up there:) Really, they're all good. Especially since the dates are so close together, it means you work quickly too.

Mommy

Reading the book of nightmares crashed my game. Using the mirror did too. It couldn't find the correct image. Possibly a language support-related bug in the filename.

On the topic of images it'd be a good idea to use your own pic for Hell just to stay consistent. I figured all the Microsoft Paint art was using cover up a lack of drawing skills (that's OK) to make it seem like it was through the perception of a child.

So far though it's a pretty miscellaneous game. It's just been moving from room to room and they're just not exciting.

While the text is full of bad English I could still understand what you were meaning to say. You can ask on forums for a volunteer to clean up your English for you if the person likes your game and has the time.

Some suggestions:
-Stop chase events when the player is accessing an event. The player needs to read what's said in case it's important and it's annoying to be cornered by demons or whatnot because they player was playing as they should.
-Their house has an indoor garden with a piano and a pipe organ? Weird. But checking the instruments makes her comment on the flowers.
-In the room with the nightmare book you can still search the barrel even when you're not facing it.
-Another option to compliment your art choice may be to learn parallax mapping.

I made it up to the door puzzle and just couldn't stay interested. Sorry. I browsed through the pictures folder and it does look like a deeper story pops. Maybe after a revision of some sort.

Trick & Treat

Oh, darn. I underlined the words that were problems for grammar fixing but I guess that didn't copy/paste properly.
The "you are in the wrong idea" is my mistake. I went back to check and turns out I read the line wrong. HAHAHA. See, this is what happens when I play games before I get my coffee. I did find another passibility error though. When you play as Charlotte and the timer starts, you can stand on the desk near the book if you enter from the bottom middle where the ink and paper is.

And yeah, it's always best to hold off on an update until you get more players to add their input. It's much easier to do bulk fixes than a bunch of little ones over and over.

As for the spell animation, it's possible it's just a problem with my system somehow. I always play full-screen. Let's wait and see if other players see the same issue. As I said I have no clue what could cause it. It's really weird. If other people have the problem then maybe it can be fixed by making the map bigger on the bottom with blank space. Perhaps it's getting confused on where to put the part of the animation that's cut off by the bottom part of the map. Other animations like when you break some pots work fine.

*PHEW* sorry for writing so much.

Trick & Treat

Congratulations! I'll give it a run ASAP

EDIT: I just woke up so I seriously need to make some perogies and sausages first. I'm totally starving. I'll get to it after that.

EDIT2:
I got delayed a lot, actually. Anyway, done with, like, 3 endings. Got about 7 or 8 of the dead ends too.

First I'll get the problem list out of the way.
-There's a typo in the first line of dialogue.
-The whole section of fire in the fireplaces move, kindle, base and all.
-In the library you can walk on the right side of the sofa but not the left.
-The tree in the green room shines like a lamp? Might be intentional.
-"you are in the wrong idea"
-"Miss Charlotte haven't allowed me me to visit the town myself."
-"Well... It looks similar as my usual one."
-In the bonus room, Dead End book 8 and 9 don't have )'s after them.
-In the bonus room you can walk on the backs of the sofas.
-When spells are cast a bit of the animation is visible in the top left of the screen. I actually have no idea why this is.
-I never needed to heal despite breaking all the barrels and getting punched a few times. Is it even possible to loose all your HP?

Now that that's out of the way I can say that I really enjoyed this. I can feel a lot of love in it. I'll do a formal review later (hopefully) but I strongly recommend this one to people who like lighthearted stuff. It really reminded me of the Halloween episode of a show.

I thought it looked like one of those... darn. vocabulary break.

It's a type of rug made by weaving thick strips of fabric. Some native american things I see at the flea market use that style and it does give things a kind of pixelated look.

EDIT: Come to think of it "tapestry" is likely a better term than "rug" because I never see them on floors. They're always hanging up. Although that might just be us ignorant types using them wrong.

Oh, wow. it WAS a drink beer button.
