Release Something! Day V for Vendetta [Dec 21st]

Well, I decided to go ahead and release Dragon Fantasy II ahead of time. It was done, I was...happy, and my mind just really wanted me post it. So...I have it! Gah! 'Twas a hard choice! But since I've got it on other forums, it's just as well to put it on here, too. I was going to wait untill RSD V, but then thought that it didn't really make much sense since it was technically released already! So...yeah.

I'll just make a few videos or something.

Hope it goes well for everyone else!

[Full/Complete Game] Dragon Fantasy II

Game Link: http://www.rpgmaker.net/games/430/

The Main Story:
It has been 100 years since the end of the first Dragon Fantasy. Veryl has been destroyed and the planet's original power has been restored. However, even the Crystal's could not destroy the power of the Dark Lord comletely. Instead, they destroyed the castle's outer shell and contained the vast power of Venaitura within a sphere of light.

But now...the skies once again are covered with a vast and expansive wave of darkness. The temple where the orb was contained had been breached and the power of Venaitura stolen! Using it's power, a fiend by the name of Emperor Xyan has opened a gateway to the Dark World and has called forth a plethora of demons to do his bidding.

You are the Hero's decendant. Having the blood of the legendary Hero who had defeated Veryl, the King of Zebon calls you and your allies to his chamber. He tells you of your duty, and thus you must embark on an epic quest in order to save your homelands from destruction once again!

Character Classes:

-Unlike in the first Dragon Fantasy where you had a pre-set party with specific classes, you are free to choose whomever you want your party to consist of from the beginning in this second installment. Your main character is ALWAYS the Hero class, but you may chose his/her gender and three other companions and their classes.-

The Hero
Info: The class that your main character is set as. He/she is named by you, and is also given a gender by you. The Hero is pretty well-rounded, and is able to cast a nice variety of Healing Spells, Damaging Spells, and Status Spells. His/Her stats are pretty even, and he/she does not fall short on many things.

The Knight
Bearing a strong ATK and DEF, the knight is the basic damage dealer. He can cast no magic, and has no MP, but he can dish out the damage against enemies using his physical attacks. They bear high HP, but low INT.

The Mage
A class based soley around Black--or damaging--magics. They learn the greatest ammount of Black Magic spells, and have
a high MP count. They have a low DEF and ATK count, but make up for it in AGL and INT.

The Priest
The Priest is a class based around the art of White Magic; Magic which focuses on healing the wounded and curing the ill. They receive the greatest ammount of White Magic spells, and are also one of the fastest mages. They have a high MP, INT, and AGL count, but lack HP and DEF. A must have for any adventurer.

The Inflicter
Revolving mainly around inflicting hindering status-effects against the enemy, the Inflicter has no real abilities which directly
inflict any sort of damage. However, they have great AGL and MP, and learn boosting type spells earlier than any other class.

The Sage
Having access to both White and Black Magic spells, and bearing the highest INT count of all the mages, the Sage is a fairly diverse maigc user. However, it lacks a majority of the higher level spells from both areas, thus it must fall back on weaker spells as it makes progress. The sage has the highest INT and MP count, but lacks HP, AGL and DEF.

The Dark Knight
A fusion of both the Knight and Mage classes. The Dark Knight has access to a limited number of Black Magic spells, but has a great ATK and DEF count. It is also one of the two fastest mage-type classes.

The Holy Knight
A fusion of both the Knight and Priest classes. The HolyKnight has access to a limited number of White Magic spells, but has a great ATK and DEF count. It is also one of the two fastest mage-type classes.

The Berserker
A purely physcial-based class that has no mind of it's own. Bearing the absolute highest ATK count of all classes, the Berserker can break down some enemies in one fell swoop. They also bear a high HP count, but lack in DEF and AGL.

Final Mix+ Version:

Info on the "Final Mix" version:

This extension to the game has finally made it give me the "complete" feeling I was looking for. With it, Dragon Fantasy II has come to a great conclusion. Included in the upadate are the following:

-Better weapons and spells for late-game mgaes.

-Small stat increases.

-Access to Bigsby's Tomb once you beat the final boss once.

-The chance to fight the final boss two more times after defeating it once. Just go back in to the room you fought it, and talk to it after the credits. The third time you fight it is the hardest battle in the entire game. So be sure to complete Bigby's Tomb before fighting its 3rd phase, and make sure to be Lv.40-43.

-Fight Dragon Warrior 1-4's final bosses as Optional Bosses in Bigby's Tomb.

-A hint: The tomb opens/appears to the far West on the Dark World map.

-Another hint: Bring your save file from the old game into this folder. That is all that you should need to do! No need to start a new file.

Dragon Fantasy 2 Testers

Ah. Yet another request. I've gotta stop making these, as I think I ask enough of some people as is! Ha ha. But still, this is essential, and definitly something that is needed.

I've completed Dragon Fantasy II, and I was wondering if anyone out there would be willing to test the game for me? And, as one would expect, this means testing the ENTIRE GAME, all the way to the very end. So the people who like NES-like, not-so-fast RPG's are PROBABLY going to be the people more suited for the job.

But if I can't get anyone, then that's all I can do, I suppose! At least I made a topic! =P

(Screenshots and info of the game can be found in the following link. If anyone wants to volunteer to test this, I would be very appreciative. If you do choose to test it, then I'll PM you the project. Thank you!)

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?

Grandia 3: Though it sky-rockets in difficulty druing the later part of the game, and the story is just shot and left for dead before it even gets halfway through...it's still fun! It's addicting to me, and whenever I play it it reminds me of Christmas (when I got it.) It has a fun battle system, the story is OK, and it's fairly good overall. I just hope if they ever make a 4th one that it's just as fun, though more balanced and with a...better storyline. One that they did not decide to leave about 1000 different unanswered questions in.

Kingdom Hearts 2:
I also got the urge to play this recently, too. But Grandia 3 has taken priority over it for the time being.

Chrono Trigger DS: Just beat Zombor. I hated this part of the game, because I got lost for such a long time last I played! (on the PS) Other than that, it's all been smooth sailing. Alot better than what I remembered, and what I did remember was actually real good!

And so, RMN reaches a (minor) milestone. Every top 10 poster has 1000+ posts. Yay!

Pleh. I'm here a while and I STILL don't have any higher than 500 posts. GAH! But...maybe that wouldn't be the problem if I posted more, yes? But I take up most of my free time working on Dragon Fantasy, so...>_>

I'm usually in the mood to post and such when I don't have anything like that to do. Especially when I've practically set a due date for myself! (Of which is unlikely to be finished by then, but eh. I'm trying not to rush.)

What would RMN be like without the user above you

We would not have very much Gaara love, nor very many noble people whos name just happens to be nick. Those are quite hard to come by these days.

Your Game Maker

I like to switch it up between RPG Maker 2000 and RPG Maker 2003. Though, out of both of those, I'd have to say that 2000 is my personal favourite. I like the look of its RTP, and I've grown accustomed to it's front-view battle system. Dragon Quest/Warrior sort of helped me get into it a bit more, as did it do for DQ/DW.

I'd also rather these two over both VX and XP. I just think that they have a certain feeling that VX and XP just do not give me. Sure, they're great and all, but IMO they're not the best. Besides, there are alot of graphics and such readily available for 2000/2003, so it's pretty easy to find the right combination of graphics suitable for your project!

And for what I am working on currently, I find that RPG Maker 2000 fits it perfectly. (Ha ha, sort of rhymes.)

What do YOU want for Christmas v2.0

Oi, I had a list but I went and lost it. I'll have to get it all from the innards of meh brain. And believe me, that could be quite a chellenge.

Ah, nope. Here we are.

-Dragon Quest IV DS.
-Black Cat VOL.5
-X BOX 360
-Lost Odyssey

And that's about it. Doesn't sound like much, but it still costs a fine dollar! I just hope that I can get it all. But eh, if I don't I don't. I still want a 360, though. >__>

Release Something! Day V for Vendetta [Dec 21st]

Gah! I'm beginning to doubt wether or not I'll have my entry done before the due date. I still have to finish up the ending and final bosses, as well as have it tested for bugs and the like. Blah. I just hope I can do it in time!

But I'm still looking forward to everyone elses entires. Best of luck! I hope everyone else manages to get something out.

@ Rei: Whoa, I love that map. Well, the inside of the town, anyway. Way better than anything I could do 4 years ago. (Or was I even using RPG maker then? Cant remember, but I doubt it.) I just dislike the outside. Looks a tad too...bare.Other than that it's great.

@ Kentona: Ha ha! And the great RTP maps are still pouring out! And Yang! One of my favourite Monks is in there. And it's the home of Cid, 'eh? SO he named the town after himself, did he!? The bastard! >:( But I suppose I'd do the same. =P

How long do you think Hero's Realm is going to be? He he. From what i would gather, it appears like it is going to be a fairly lengthy game.

Here are some new Dragon Fantasy II Screenshots. Just exploring the Dark World and it's dungeons.

And I had to put this in there for the fun of it. =B Especially since Hero's Realm and all of that helped me to get ideas for DFII.
