Game Drive Week 03
post=suzuricho
I LOVE making bosses, muhahaha. But not every mook can be a boss.
I feel your pain :) I put in as many bosses as will fit the storyline, and sometimes some random ones too. I just love making monsters in general though, but bosses and Final bosses are my favs :) I'm proud of the one(s) I came up with for my game so far, but it's not many...

Game Drive Week 03

Alexa is the main character of my entry. She is a sixteen year old orphaned girl with a foggy past and future. She awakens one morning in a strange place surrounded by people who claim that they know her. She quickly uncovers that she has received amnesia by some mysterious means, and that all she can remember of her past is a fading, unclear dream in which a strange man came to her peaceful mountain town and kidnapped a friend of hers. She quickly begins to aid her new friends in their affairs, but soon discovers that they are wrapped up in a war against the Imperials. She is quite irrational and will speak before thinking very often.
Game Drive Week 02
Anyone know of a good bestiary script for XP that I can use? I was hoping to put in some kind of monster log so you can keep track of how many times you need to fight each monster to gains skills.
The Beginning Demo Released
Ur welcome, btw I played again and I apolagize for my comment about the first dungeon being impossible, I found the way out without dying this time! :)

The Beginning Demo Released
Ok, I played for a while and I have a bit of positive and negative feedback for you :)
Positive first :)
I loved the intro, it was really well done: The mapping, and the story... there were a few gramatical errors, but those don't matter at this early stage of your game.
I always sort of liked being able to name your character, so that was good.
All the music and graphics were well done, they fit together which was nice :)
And, the negative :(
Even after I named my character, his name always appeared as "Lute" in the battle screen.
I liked the purple crystal idea, but there were two major problems to it:
1. I really didn't need to have the whole thing explained to me each time I selected it.
2. It was really bothersome to have to walk all the way back to the start to restart any puzzles, especially with all the battles
As for the battles themselves: They were a bit unbalanced, but I found out that was actually a GOOD thing in this game: if they dealt nearly as much damage as you did you would die in one turn!
Also, I died multiple times in the fights, this was my biggest complaint:
There was no way to heal in the first cave!
Because I couldn't use the menu(I didn't get any items anyway) and the Purple Crystal doesn't heal.... I ended up dying very often
Over all, good game! I'm going to keep playing, but just tell me if you want any more feedback.

Game Drive Week 02
I have only about..... 15 maps done so far, but I got a lot of the storyline and dialogue.
I'm trying to implement a special skill system for the main hero. Basically, when she defeats enough of one type of monster, she gains a skill that works especially well on that type of monster. I'm not sure whether I should make this happen only after a special quest or plot point, or if it should happen all the time. Any thoughts?
