Hi!
I'm a composer living in Germany and I'm a huge fan of indie games. I especially like RPG Maker games. One of my biggest inspirations is Joe Hisaishi. I'm already active on the German RPG Maker VX Ace forum. There I'm part of the Ressi team where we create resources for the community every two months.
If you're in need of a composer then feel free to visit my website! You'll find my demo reel there and infos about me and my music.

Original HQ Music needed for your Project? (RF music inside as well!)
Hey, a fellow German composer! Your work sounds great, I especially love your pieces that you recorded with the Budapest Scoring Symphonic Orchestra. It will probably be hard to find clients that are in your price range on this forum since most people on here are hobbyists but some more serious game developers check in from time to time. I wish you all the best, your music is definitely awesome ^^
Composers- how do you charge?
It definitely differs from composer to composer. Most charge per minute. Additional costs may arise depending on how many instruments you want to have in there (since composing for a whole orchestra is understandably harder than for a solo piano). I for example start the bidding at 50$/minute, no matter how many instruments are used. But it can be anywhere in between and beyond 100$ and 10$. Composers for bigger studios get 1000$/minute by the way, but since you're an indie developer I doubt that you would want to hire those. How much you want to pay just depends on how serious you are with your project.

RMN Composer Introductions
Yo! My name is Tim Reichert, also known as Fulminis-ictus.
I've been a composer since 2009 now and I've been composing for over ten different projects of different genres since 2012.

If you want to check out my work then you should take a look on my YouTube channel.
I'm not only uploading original compositions on my channel but also piano covers and synthesia tutorials of some pieces which I've transcribed by ear.
I also have a website if you want to read more about my work.
Contact information for commissions:
This is best done by either writing a PM or an E-Mail to "fulminisictus7@gmail.com"
Music genres and style influences of my work:
I can compose in quite a lot of styles. I've composed electro, jazz, traditional Japanese pieces, Arabic pieces and so on. I think this is quite necessary for a video game composer so I'm trying to try out many different styles.
I'll just copy the part about the musicians which influenced me most from my website because I'm lazy ^^
One of my favourite musicians and the one who influenced me the most is Joe Hisaishi. He composed and is still composing music for the films of Studio Ghibli, the movies of Takeshi Kitano and more.
Another composer who influenced me a lot is Jun'ya Ota, also known as ZUN. He's the developer of the Touhou games.
I listen to a lot of J-Rock and Metal, so it's natural that I get a lot of inspirations from these musical stiles. I also like some Metal Core Bands (especially Atreyu).
Many japanese pianists inspire and influence me. Some examples are Tempei Nakamura, Yurima and Marasy8 (YouTube name).
My choice of audio software:
I recently switched to Cubase after using FL Studio for quite some time. I'm also using Audacity to do some changes like normalizing or incorporating loop points in the OGGs.
Instruments I play:
I mainly play the piano and some brass instruments (my first one was a trombone with buttons, my second one was a tenorhorn and the one I'm playing right now is the euphonium). I can also play a little guitar and recorder I guess (I had to learn it in school ;_;).
My proudest accomplishments (yeah, I have more than one that I'm proud of ^^) as a musician:
Getting my first payment! :D
Joining the (German) RPG Maker VX Ace ReStaff Team.
Getting first place in the Symphony contest on the German RPG Maker VX Ace forum.
Well, that's about it. I'm looking forward to reading the introductions of the other musicians and hopefully I'll find some new great composers ^^

DEEP 8 composing process
It's nice to hear that you haven't given up on composing!
Your new track actually kind of reminds me of some of Alias Conrad Coldwoods pieces, style wise. Especially Unreasonable Behaviour (link). Mostly because of the combination of this kind of beat and the choir. I wonder if your girlfriend was able to sing to it. I wasn't able to imagine this as a song that easily.
An easier way than learning pieces from sheet music is learning it with Synthesia. The problem is that you would have to find a Synthesia-video of the piece which you want to learn (this (link) is how it'd look like by the way) or a MIDI file which you can load up in the program yourself. But learning how to read sheet music is still something I'd really recommend. This way it will be easier to analyse pieces (if you ever want to).
The English word for "Tonarten" is "scales". I'm going to send you my E-Mail per PM. This way you can just send me your questions without spamming this forum ^^
Choir (A) means that the singers sing "Aaah", not that every note is an A. It would be pretty boring if they would just be able to sing one note ^^
Feel free to ask anything if you have any questions and keep on composing! I'll be rooting for you. And good luck with your game too!

[RM2K3] Looking For Mappers, Scenario Writers, Testers, Spriters, and any other position that you think may help.
Sounds like a pretty cool game! It would really be a shame if you wouldn't be able to finish it because you don't get enough help. Especially because I already like the cat. I like cats in general but I like this cat even more because it seems to be quite unique because of the fact that it doesn't like milk. I'm also a fan of Earthbound which also is rather lighthearted game but still has some deep motivs just like this game and of course Yume Nikki, my most favorite game. So I'm pretty sure that I'd like this game quite a lot.
I would like to help you out with music but the problem is that it's currently hard for me to take on an unpaid job. I already have rather low rates for indies but getting paid nothing at all at this point wouldn't be easy. But I think that this game would still deserve some original music. If you aren't able to find someone who is able to make some decent music then feel free to message me and I'll try to help you out any way I can.

Feedback on a Battle Theme
author=turkeyDawg
Overall decent battle theme, but my primary complaint would be the guitar sound and programming. There's no pitch bending or vibrato.
I totally agree with that. I'm planning to get a decent VST for that because I think that things like that really add to the realism of a piece. I'll probably get "Ministry Of Rock" as soon as I save enough money.

I'd be interested in hearing more of your work ;)
You can listen to some more of my stuff on my YouTube channel or in the resource thread which I made not too long ago (http://rpgmaker.net/resources/128/).

Are you composing in a midi program?
I used Cubase to compose this piece. The instrument sample was the one which came with the program because I wasn't able to afford a decent VST yet.

Now, in an effort to spice things up, this piece could use a bit more variety.
Yeah, that would probably be a good idea. I didn't want to bring in too much variation because I wanted to focus on one idea first and see if I can get a battle theme like feel without using too many different themes. But in any other case I think that some variation within a piece never hurts.
Thanks to everyone who has commented so far!
Feedback on a Battle Theme
I composed a battle theme a while ago and wanted to ask for some feedback. I actually was a little afraid of composing it because I had some bad experience with this kind of pieces. Mostly because the ones I made before didn't seem to sound like actual battle themes. So I studied up on battle themes some more and decided to give it another try.
I would appreciate any kind of feedback!

My music ressources
I just checked out your thread and I gotta say that your art looks awesome!
But I currently don't have enough time to work on bigger unpaid projects. If it was paid or if it would be just a short game with only ~5 pieces then it would be different but it seems like this is not the case.

My music ressources
Hey!
I just uploaded some of my resources over at the Submission part of this site and wanted to advertise them a little. The thread is over here: http://rpgmaker.net/resources/128/
I'll also create another thread in the creative corner whenever I've uploaded something new and ask for some feedback. I hope that's okay ^^
