A Very Long Rope to the Top of the Sky

@kenlan
I assume you mean the
Temple of the Elder Gods? That's a bonus dungeon, far more difficult than any story content. I highly recommend you don't even try to get in yet, but the solution has been posted in this thread before if you really want to take a look (hint: the stone tablet in the middle has all the clues you should need). There's a solid chance the first random encounter wipes your party out within a turn or two though.

As for Julian,
I think he's fishing at the pier near Silent Lake Temple, but you'll probably need to have Sully first.

A Very Long Rope to the Top of the Sky

Ah, so I skipped a step after all... My bad, as I said it's been a while. That's a pretty nice spot to resume at, though, since you'll soon have lots of new info that'll hopefully get you back on track.

A Very Long Rope to the Top of the Sky

I think that's what the guy blocking it says, yeah. If he's still there then I'd check in with your town's council or
Oliver.

A Very Long Rope to the Top of the Sky

Been a while since I came through that point in the story, so I apologize if I get it wrong, but my guess would be that your next stop should be
Corona Lucis - see if the cave in its top right corner is available or still blocked. It's the pilgrimage site you passed when you were going to Avishun for the very first time.

As for using that key, I recommend going there much later - probably either when you're close to finishing the storyline or even slightly after it.

A Very Long Rope to the Top of the Sky

Ok, Housekeeping, you definitely got me intrigued and I'll be looking forward to it, but whatever people say - don't rush perfection, it'll be done when it's done! ^^

@kenlan
Interesting, i never even tried to leave there... I think you're supposed to
do any training you need to beat him in the castle itself - the random encounters give XP and cash, and Oliver offers some basic wares, including fairly good gear.

A Very Long Rope to the Top of the Sky

Hm, level 52 sounds like it should be enough to beat that third level, so let's see...
There's one skill that really helped me there, and I think you've already got it:
Gainer's skill EMP Generator, learned from Switch for her quest. I'd make sure Gainer is faster than the chatty fellow (which he probably already is), but if you get a good paralysis hit, he won't get a chance to talk even if you take a few rounds to take him down.

EDIT: Sounds interesting, Housekeeping, but you don't seem to mention - same genre as AVLRttTotS? Just curious of course, feel free to keep it as a surprise if you prefer. ^^
As for more polish... I'll admit that AVLRttTotS has had some glitches or typos, but they've been such a drop in the ocean that I never paid much attention to them. The story is wonderful and the characters simply lovable. All in all, I'd say you set the bar plenty high already! xD

A Very Long Rope to the Top of the Sky

Thanks for the reply, but i got the ones from chests - I'm looking for a second one of each though, so I guess farming is the only option, barring a new game plus. I'm trying to craft some armor to give everyone some dark resist, to better survive the Phantom Storms which've been tearing me apart whenever the buff/debuff situation gets out of hand for a bit.

EDIT: Also to confirm my claim, Griff can't find any more chests, anywhere. Hunting them down is pretty trivial once you finish the story, thanks to Griff and the
Saecelium Shield.

A Very Long Rope to the Top of the Sky

Brunhilde is in her mansion in the rich part of Silver Spring - the one with a small hedge maze - check the top floor. I assume you want her soul tear quest? If so... good luck, it's rather different from the rest.

As for me, I haven't been playing much lately, though I still skulk this thread from time to time, but there's something that's bugging me. Being stuck on some of the bonus bosses, I decided to craft something that'd help, but I'm starting to wonder if I'm even farming the right enemies:
Red Claws for a Fire Dragon's Skull
Behemoths for an Unstoppable Beast's Horn
both found near the top of the Space Elevator

I don't know any other enemies that might drop those, and yet I have yet to see one drop after roughly two hours of farming just those two enemies, escaping from the rest to save time. Could someone please confirm if I have the right place? Or perhaps an alternative source I may have missed?

A Very Long Rope to the Top of the Sky

OH right, how could I forget those maps. I'd make sure you can beat the snowfield enemies easily, or even escape most of the time though - if you want to hunt down all the goodies, you'll have to do a lot of running.

A Very Long Rope to the Top of the Sky

Ok, let's see...
The soul tears you asked about:

Magnus: found in your town's barracks, and he asks you to go to the warped surface area, where you saw Rutger's nightmare scene. The throne will be occupied by someone else this time.
Glass: found in the caves where you first entered Balfur (near the swamp), he's one of the ghosts. If I recall correctly, he asked you to kill a dragon? If that's the one, remember where you fought three baby dragons earlier? This time there will be an adult one.
Switch: found in the Nexus, she asks you for some raw Saecelium ore. There was a mine on the surface, where you passed through right after the time skip. Check the Saecelium crystal room where you fought the boss.

Not sure what you mean by odd things... Odd Lumber maybe? Those are crafting ingredients. As for treasures, or the contents of chests, they're generally unique items (unless it's a consumable or one specific ring), and I recommend not selling any, in case you need it for crafting later. Feel free to specify what you meant if I didn't answer right.
