Here are some awesome ones I'm working on.

Edilace's Grace: 10% to chance to proc dodge when hit by a physical attack. When the dodge is proc, your character gains a shield which negates all magical damage for two turns and heals you for 10% of your character's Max HP.

Deimos Curse: On hit, 14% chance to curse human mobs.

Pillagers Remorse: Increases success rate of steal by 17% for 4 turns. If steal crits while this effect is on, 50% of the loot acquired is given to charity.

Mega Firaga: Burns 3x+y/level

Darkness Infinite: Shades of Darkness. confuses all party and enemies.

Reset! : Heals all party members and enemies and removes all status ailments.

Martyr: All party members blow up down to 1 health. Enemies take lots of damage additional bonus damage of 20% of their maximum health for 3 turns. This effect works with only holy damaging abilities.

Confuse Ray: Confuses enemy mob that has the letters "R" "A" or "Y" in their name. This effect last for 3 turns and the final turn will make the mob attack themselves 100% of the time.

Dialogue when recruiting characters

As long as you guys have me thinking about this, I'm pretty sure the problem is that a lot of people are trying to apply a very general template to their project, when every project is (or should be) entirely unique.

I agree with what Magi said and the above quote by Soli holds true as well. Don't limit yourself by following some generic template. I can understand the frustration one can have for not being able to capture a character persona (dialogue, style, etc) because of perhaps the lack of literary skill, imagination, etc. This is a cause of concern to only the developer and an area he/she alone can improve. Think of it as a life skill if you will. Study, take a look at other mediums that is interesting and done well (subjective), and then apply it to your own game. I find this process to be far more rewarding then to make a plea to the gaming community.

I feel that the specific question the op asked is completely subjective as Magi stated. Following up on Soli's point, the more you try to add your own flare to your game the better. No idea is truly unique and referencing other sources is fine, the point is to make your work your own. Sometimes you can be overwhelmed at how professional some other person's work is. Admire it, learn from it, and then try to extract elements you like. If the literary portion is something you wish to improve then really, that is something you are perfectly capable of doing!

Guys, let's stop trying to scale everything compared to terrible stuff, and start scaling work in terms of actual quality.

You don't know anything about quality.

I just proposed to my fiancee using RPGmaker VX. Video included :)
