Voting for Puzzles in BQ2

Best Puzzle
Economy Sim: Very basic in this form but it could be a grand thing if expanded. Was it all ready? I don't know.

Funnest Map
Zack's Chip Challenge: Bummer.

Overachiever Award
Setting the Table: Because I wasted a whole day on it when I should have been playing sports with the other boys.

Biggest Rip-Off
Lazer Su Doku: Is that rip-off as in stolen from something else? Because yeah.

Shake Fist In Frustration Award
Lazer Su Doku: Because yeah.

A thing for each map:

Angels & Demons - You can solve the switch one a little too easily by just checking the angel after hitting each switch. I wasn't sure how the angels and demons actually fit in, if they were even supposed to.

Tick Tock Took Book - A pretty simple one-off puzzle. I solved it in about 60 seconds. Having to pick up the book on the table was a devious touch though.

Rocks, Slings and Arrows - Classic dungeon puzzles. I find the switch ones bizarrely entertaining, although I got the left one exactly right the first time by chance. The arrow part wasn't very hard considering the "true" path goes straight across without using any of the stepping stones.

Zack's Chip Challenge - Craploads of fun! Takes me back to 1999. All the little mini-puzzles are well done and I was glad you didn't have to restart the whole map every time you died. The music was delightful until about the 20th loop. Too bad there wasn't "Watch out for creatures!"

Lazer Su Doku - A really well-done puzzle, but it slowed the pace of the game right down and I cheated due to impatience, since these things take like 30 minutes to do. Especially after I made a mistake and mistakes are impossible to root out in sudoku without starting over. And then WTF HARD MODE??? Nice to see the sci-fi chipset.

The Curious Chase of Zack Zachariah - At first I thought this puzzle was broken, but the correct path to the stairs is rather ingeniously concealed, the way you have to waste a few steps at the start. TRICKY.

Lovely Logic - Pretty simple to figure out, I guessed right the first time. Too bad most of the things the Alexes say are extraneous. I like meat too. EDIT: OIC the correct Alex is randomized every time.

Economy Sim - This puzzle certainly has a lot of potential to grow in complexity, and it could use more graphical indications of your decisions. On my second try I ALMOST got to the goal, but it shunted me to the next map anyway. Oh well. The trick seems to be not to use any warriors at all. What are they good for?

Riddle of 7 - Some unexpected sympathy for the baroness! The trick to the greed puzzle is given away by the timer being visible. Oops? A couple times I accidentally blundered into a portal without reading the plaques and I felt sad that I couldn't go out again to check them. I'm pretty sure I beat Wrath by accident. Are you just supposed to get your ass kicked?

Skeleton Ship - This was actually a welcome change of pace after the Economy Sim. Mindless running puzzle win! PS I probably hate you too.

Future's Past - A bit tedious talking to everyone over and over for clues, but not hard to figure out. The hardest part was finding all the parts of the store that needed fixing. Could plants really ruin a relationship?

In-A-Gadda-Da-Vidda - A pretty random puzzle. Not hard to get through by just clicking on everything. I liked spinning grandma, but I'm not sure why she was there, or what the premise of the whole thing was.

Gibmaker: Warriors are there to be exploited on a later playthrough; one command in each area has a random event that is exaggerated by a Warrior (usually one--hey look this is like the description of them--that deals with people). For example:

-If farmers rebel, a Warrior whips them into increasing Food Production twice as much as normal
-If the Nomad Warlords appreciate your stimulating an economy and reward you with Gold, the Nomad Princesses will give a Warrior even more
-If lumberjacks stomp all over a berry bush patch, the Warrior will beat them until they replant twice as many berry bushes

There are more! Also, Warriors don't suck at either Food or Gold.

I see, so they're like Criticals.

@ all: WOW, thanks for liking the tables so much! :D

well, I wrote in my first post that I'm not good with programming and that this is the single complete gameidea that is suited for an rpg.

My bad. :-X

I'll probably put GameOver's LAST because of how evil it is, and Gibmaker's second or third because of how good, clever and fun it is (perfect "hook" for the game!). Craze's is also super-fun.

Good, clever and fun 24/7. :3

Inspiration and Work Ethic

Or that. :(

Inspiration and Work Ethic

I don't think the problem is lack of inspiration, so much as the fact that making RPGs is, basically, work. Planning things on paper is fun and fast, but actually cracking open the editor to do the mapping/implementing is when it gets tedious. That's also the stage when you encounter the bugs and limitations of the system that put caps on your great ideas. My least favourite part of game-making is doing pixel art, so that's where my stuff tends to get log-jammed, but the only real solution is to just chip away at it and try to do a little bit every day.

Also, play other people's games! Whether they're good or crud, you'll probably see many things to rip off inspire you. And a nice side effect is you might feel jealous/threatened by other people's success, which makes you get back to working. :P

Don't know about VX, but XP requires you to pay $60. Also a consideration. If you're a good programmer XP also lets you mess with the code for all the game systems, although if you're happy with the default battle systems then that's not an issue.

There's always the choice of not using RM at all. There are lots of other game-making programs like GameMaker. The main attraction with RM is it comes with a whole pre-made program structure for RPGs.

Wow, even if we don't hear from any of the pendings (which would be too bad ...) it's still quite a list.
