I am not taking my project seriously at all. I mean I'm at least attempting to map and such but...well, you'll see. Friggin' VX Ace spoiled me with the auto-chest, teleport, etc. options from Control + 1-4.

I will say that I'm so glad that I understand how roofing and wall tiles work now. No more of that "I made a rectangle that's the walls and roof in one" shit.

Yeah, the fact that your choices in the resort area THAT YOU START IN BEFORE THE FIRST BATTLE EVER affects your relationship values with all of the characters in utter bullshit.
Learning to Use Damage Formulas in VX Ace
I really, really like the damage formula Crystalgate posted. It seems like it makes normal attacks scale a lot better than my basic one, which was:
a.atk * 3 - b.def * 2
What do you folks do for healing magic? I tend to do something like:
a.mat * 2 + 100 + b.mhp * 0.03
So it's guaranteed to recover at least 3% of the target's max HP. This isn't quite so useful for the heroes (although it does give a small boost), but it's better for larger enemies, or even bosses, that can heal themselves or have helper enemies that can heal without having to mess with their REC stat.

[RMVX ACE] Help with HP recovery items??????
In the formula box you should put:
b.mhp * 0.30
(30% of target's max HP)
Also, dunno if you know this or not, but if you hover your mouse over the formula bar it'll give you helpful hints! Hope this helps~
