I'm a very big fan of music of japanese role playing games for it has influenced me throughout my life since my early childhood. The day I saw Nobuo on the stage in front of me I decided I too will become a composer one day. It has been 9 years since that day.

You can't find my works anywhere right now, but that will change very soon this year as I will be contributing several original tracks for RMN Music Pack 2.

I didn't know RMN had submarines!?!

Wow, keep it up guys! I only wish you had included captions in the photos...

Are we scouting out any new voices for future podcasts, or this just the Music Pack? Because I'd totally be down.

If Craze and I did one together, it'd be comedic gold tbh.

I'm pretty much just scouting any usable voices in the community, at all. I don't know about possible future podcasts and whatnot, but at least I'd be able to refer people to whoever would be organizing them. (And I could possibly be involved anyway, helping with editing and stuff.)

I really should get myself a nice microphone. Maybe after my summer paycheck comes in... won't be able to help out until then, though.

Looking forward to that! I should get one too...

are children screaming and playing and asking constant questions in the background considered notable?

That could actually be a fun take if the mic quality's good.

Hey! I'm looking for some new announcers to RMN's future audio posts!

I am looking to have some variety in some of the coming announcements, so any voice types are welcome! You should have a good microphone capable of recording clear quality audio with no notable background noise or other audio artifacts.

The commissions will generally be short, ranging from 15 seconds to 1 minute.
I'm not expecting a great tonal range, or range of expressions, but it would be good if you had a good control over your voice and manner of speech.

If you're interested, send me a PM, or email to musicpack@rpgmaker.net
Include a sample of your work eg. an example announcement consisting of couple of sentences.

Professionals should include their price quote.

For reference of quality I am expecting, and the type of instance your voice will be used at, see: https://soundcloud.com/rpgmakernet

Cheers,
Happy

I now regret not having banned Mafia a little...

... No, don't change the latest topics. Turkey suggested changing the latest posts list and Elipsis just started making it confusing.

If you changed the latest posts list so that it only showed the topics that have been posted in, it wouldn't need to have multiple entries on the list for the same topic.

It's not that complicated? ... XD

I think they mean a Latest Topics view. A list of the topics in order of most recently posted on.
We already have a Latest Topics view in the Community portal.

I don't think you read the post you quoted.

Real talk, though: While I honestly don't care one way or another (I just brought up the quote for giggles), sometimes I wonder if it would be worthwhile to have the Latest Posts page actually work more like the way topics are listed when viewing the forums - so, listing stuff (game pages, images, forum topics, etc) in order of mostly recently commented on.

+ 1 This would seem like a good way to do it.

If I were to hypothetically make a podcast that talked about game design what would people want to hear discussed?

First thing that comes to my mind is audio design. It's something that's never really looked into and even in most of game reviews in professional magazines they tend to skip the matter entirely.

It would be cool to have some discussion on how to handle game audio well as its effective use can have huge impact on the game's immersion and atmosphere.

Another matter that seems important and usually not discussed enough is the game flow, linearity and exposition, both story and game mechanics-wise.
