I'm a very big fan of music of japanese role playing games for it has influenced me throughout my life since my early childhood. The day I saw Nobuo on the stage in front of me I decided I too will become a composer one day. It has been 9 years since that day.
You can't find my works anywhere right now, but that will change very soon this year as I will be contributing several original tracks for RMN Music Pack 2.

You could probably make it look better with proper resources. I only used what were available in the original screen.

If this scene happens on this one area only, it's pretty easy to edit. Do it entirely in the perspective of the Metal Slug rip. Have the RM sprites only face either right or left, make the ground to show a few tiles of underground and then the ground level. The ground level shouldn't have any actual tiles as usually in sideviews. Then just throw there some neat desert panorama.

Weird. I've got absolutely no problems with the message display with the actual message, but rather with the layout for the name and the portrait. The name frame takes up way too much space and makes the alignment of the whole layout pretty awkward. I'd consider bringing the face frame to same level with the name frame at least.

Bumping this for the sake of Halloween.
If you feel like giving a chance to a short Halloween game that won the 1st place in GW halloween game contest and has a sweet little Halloween story to tell, now's the most appropriate time to do so!
The game is still pretty difficult, but if you can beat the 2 first levels, you're very likely to beat the entire game easily. So, if you can get past those, then all the rest is easier. =)
