author=StrakI totally get that and that's me being picky as well. Because the character battlers look great and I don't mind the backgrounds at all with the pixel characters/HD backdrops.
Ha ha, yeah, I've gotten feedback about the sprites before. Haven't seen an enormous amount of side view battlers that I felt fit with this game. Nowadays there's more available, but it just wouldn't feel right to change them now. Same with the encounters, if I could make this game over from the start I'd probably go with something other than random encounters.
Curious what you mean about the menu and inventory screens though. Is there something that could be done to benefit them? Or is it just that je ne sais quoi?
As for the menus and such, I think they are just too HD or crisp. This could simply just changing the font or using a lower res menu graphic. I'll always understand not being able to go back and change fundamentals of a game like enemies, but maybe play with some system graphics stuff. Or don't, my games aren't masterpieces! haha XD
What technology do you hope will be invented before you die.
As for my desire, consumer grade and affordable bionics or exo-skeleton like gear so I can have a glove dealy for my bunk right hand/wrist.
Esper Unleashed
Uhh, downloading! Love the style and look of it and of course, survival? Oh yes, please and thank you!
Reaper of the Starless Sea
Yikes, didn't intend to start something and I should have been more detailed. My apologies, I left a short comment after viewing the screenshots without thinking about how it would be taken.
The art is very precise and obviously very well done. My problem with it that for me personally, it's almost blinding where I can't literally look at it for too long because it blurs and physically hurts my eyes. That's on me. I just had this come up with another game actually. But I know I'm not the only one. It's a very contrasting palette of black and white that is incredibly sharp and well defined. Again, it's amazing artwork, no question about that. It's the brightness that jumps out and makes it hard to focus. And this is just me looking at screenshots and not playing the game.
You're justifiable in defending it and I wish I had elaborated more. You and Arch are great artists and respectable as well as those that came to defend me and I appreciate that as well.
edit: Good example is the screenshot of character cards, where those unhighlighted make a good contrast for the bright white highlight card. That doesn't bother me in the slightest looking at it because it's not just two stark colors.

Ninth Day Memorial
author=torichiIt's definitely on me, getting older! Best of luck with your game and what I can see is that you're really talented, keep it up!author=InfectionFilesThank you for the comment! Not sure if you're referring to either the generous amount of text or the primitive pixel graphics with lots of dithering (or both even) but sorry to hear you're feeling uncomfortable playing this and games with similar elements, catering to everyone's preferences is hard, after all.
I'll start with that I love the artistic nature of this game but it's painful to look at it and read. It's seemingly becoming more normal the past few years even from people on this site that have made or worked on decent games.
edit: The text is pretty smooshed after getting the harmony dll and setting compatibly to windows7, it's been awhile for playing rm games for me and I got a new comp recently. Have you come across this problem?
