I feel sorry for people who find SNL and The Big Bang Theory funny. They aren't comedies.

You're right, Dy. I don't want that to come off elitist or I'm a genius because that's certainly not the case lol :p
That's a great way to put it!

Ah, you guys are thinking wrong. You should be celebrating that your tastes rise above mediocrity. It makes you appreciate the pleasures you discover that much more.
I really agree with you Blind. The sad thing is I wish I could just enjoy it. I wish I was dumb enough to just go AHAHAHAHA SHELDON
Isn't there a Big Bang Theory spinoff coming out this year? Lol..
Tbh, I wish I was the sort of person who found BBT (or similar shows) legitimately funny...because I'd probably enjoy most mainstream entertainment a whole lot more. Most people just have bad taste.
Maybe "LOL VIDEO GAMES" was funny 10 years ago, or whenever the show aired, or maybe it was always bad. It's hard to tell. XD

Zeppo was in Horsefeathers which is freakin fantastic. Also Animal Crackers, which, same.
Watch the Marx Brothers they are so great.

@Sgt- So true!
And I like how this is getting educational. :P

Yeah, there was a fourth Marx Brother (there was actually five, but Zeppo is the only one of the two non-comedians that appeared on film with his three much more famous brothers). His name was Zeppo. He wasn't a comedian. He was an engineer. He played in the first five Marx Brothers movies. He played the guy that you would usually expect to be the protagonist; handsome, heroic, and usually getting the girl in the end, except these are Marx Bros. movies, where the protagonist is upstaged by the bumblers. Yeah, he didn't participate in the slapstick.
I know he's in A Night in Casablanca. I'd swear he was in A Day at the Races.
Edit: And yeah, I've gone all the way back to the 1920s with this reference, so I don't expect a lot of people to get it. But there's never been a better analogy of someone being not funny.
EDIT 2: Okay, so he was in more than five, but the first five are the only ones that he starred in back to back. And he's been a few things besides Marx Brothers, too. All in all, it looks like he starred in about half of their more famous movies. And yes, he was in A Day at the Races. I kept thinking I might have been confusing it for Horsefeathers. Most of these, I haven't seen since I was a kid. A Night at Casablanca is the only one I've seen fairly recently.

I.... I don't get the reference ._.
I'm always ragging on millennials for not getting my 80s pop culture references, but you've gone even further back in time than me.

Be fair, piano. The Will Ferrell years were pretty good too.
Ah! Yes! Will Ferrell. I always thought he was about as funny as the fourth Marx Brother.
Big bang Theory definitely encompases a decades-old representation of "nerd culture"... so yeah, it resonates well with boomers and older folks. I know the show isn't for me, nor is it aimed at anyone even remotely niche on the nerd spectrum.
I think the show knows what it is and who its aimed at.

Yeah, I don't dislike all of SNL. Just the last 20 years or so lol

SNL's humor ebbs and flows. It'll be hilarious for awhile, then shitty for a longer while.
Problem is, the ebbs and flows can last decades x_X;
Yeah, the last flow ended when Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Jon Belushi, Chevy Chase, and Steve Martin left.

author=kentonaYou're welcome.
I appreciate your concern for my sense of humour.
@Liberty- It's not the nerdy stuff. It's just very poorly written.
