Super RMN Bros. 3

Something terrible has happened.

I have accidentally removed myself from RMN 3.
No, I don't know how I did it. It was an accident. My mouse buttons get weird on me sometimes. =(

Am I out of the project for good or can I be reinstated? If not, can I at least PM my levels or something? I would hate to think that all of my work has gone to waste.

If we're really extending it for another month I might be tempted to make more levels as well. I'm with Apa, we oughta set some restrictions.

I've updated Narbacular Drop with fixes to my specific section and I also fixed the folder name issue so the custom graphics would work. Also, my Arctic Adventure level has been updated with the suggested fixes. Hopefully, both things will be more to your liking Halibabica.

Thanks for that, I didn't have any time to get around to it today. Looking forward to seeing this all put together!

I thought all you have to do to BEAT the level is to kill all the enemies.

Crap I misspoke. AGAIN. I meant to get the secret star, not 'beat the level'. I was just saying that I wouldn't have done it like that in that particular instance. But I wasn't trying to review his level or anything: Just gushin' about it. X)

I thought Chainsaw Massacre was a shiny example of what a good multi-path level should be like. I've got a pet peeve with levels that are big sprawling affairs which are completely open-ended and often lead you on a wild goose chase. But with this it's still ultimately linear, just that you get to choose the order of the paths you take, which is totally awesome. Changing the enemy speeds up was also a nice touch. And that secret star is a pretty damn good one.

I'm not sure I liked how there were both Tanooki and Hammer suits that are required to beat the level. There aren't any other suits in the level as far as I know, so you pretty much can't get hit at all once you've got one on until the job's done, which is not the easiest task without a few more goes from the start. That can get old for some. I'd just get rid of the tanooki suit bit and put in some moving platforms instead. Also, if it were me I'd have put the four different paths into four different sections, with the hub being one of its own, just to make it more Metroid-y. Awesome job.

Okay, so I renamed the chain level to Narbacular Drop, but its otherwise the same. Everything else is in the process of being reuploaded. Sorry about that.

@halibabica
-I moved the checkpoint in Power Plant, which was probably for the best. I figured it'd put more pressure on the player to do the gauntlet right knowing the checkpoint was right at the bottom, but it is kind of easy once you get it.
Those two pipes at the end are passable with a running jump. No shenanigans required.

-In Labyrinth I fixed up the key room. All enemies are now killable. However I feel that it would be too helpful if the pipes stood out anymore. When I first changed the level I made them blue, but it took all the maze out of the maze.

-For the castle I checked the vines over again, and you can reach all of them. Either big, small, or no spin jump, you can get to the other side unscathed. They were somewhat misleading though, so I changed them up a tiny bit to make it more doable. I respectfully disagree about the checkpoint though: The level's short enough! If I put in a checkpoint I'd have to rename it to Castle Easypeasy.

I ment that pipe leading down underneath teh first ship

Oh I see. Well I already did all that! Hence my confusion.

In that case I'll upload version 1.3. Which should be the completed level. Once we've decided what to name it I'll update the link. Personally I like Narbacular Drop. You guys decide.

Isrieri?
Just delete the darn pipe on the first ship
And as an idea
If you do add a second path
One is easy
One is tough
Simplicity itself
...
Probably

Wut? I don't get what you're suggesting. If I deleted your pipe how would anyone get to your section?

Well, she's up. Chain Level v1.2.

@seiromem: Put a pipe at the end for the sake of consistency with the other sections.

@apa649: Moved the thowmps up a block, added some donuts below them, and took out a bit of the fence. I really liked your idea, but I think this might be equally challenging.

@Darklord_Keinor: Lowered the lava in some of the pits by one block. When its that high, the lavas' hit detection gets wonky, and I figured the level worked equally well with it a bit lower. Also turned the DEATH PIPE into a BONUS PIPE and put it further back in the section. I couldn't think of a good hint for your hammerman to say so you might want to fix that up.

@Jackalotrun: I was going to go and change a few things around in your level. But then changed my mind. I kinda got caught up making my little bonus thingy, and realized that if anyone ever managed to find the bonus then they would just always go that way if the airship bit got too long or hard. So I left yours shorter to serve as a more appealing alternate pathway. If you want to add anything else to it though, I encourage it. :)

My bonus part isn't too tough: Put an Amazing Flying Blue Boot in for the lulz. But it also means 1 hit deaths, so challenge is there. I think I did a good job overall. The level still needs a name, so get to brainstorming! (I'm not very creative with names)
