Sarasaland Adventure
I tried this out a few days ago. Didn't get too far though: Only to 1-5 or thereabouts.
I really liked that first fortress. The tower bit in particular.

What happens if the player uses the move away from player command?
The Imperial Scrolls of Philosophy
I cannot into forums apparently.
But yeah, I just wanted a general non-specific Philosophy topic: You got questions? We've got more questions.
Caz is pretty much on the money though.

The Imperial Scrolls of Philosophy
I was just about to pontificate over the potential butterfly effect my mistake may have caused but you beat me to it. Is it fate? Or is it proof that fate is easily overturned by mankind's will?
The Imperial Scrolls of Philosophy
Because I like talking about pointless crap.
I posit that most people follow the axiom of either "Life Sucks" or "Life is Fricking Awesome." Where you fall on this spectrum is directly proportional to the amount of hope you possess. The only way to come to either of these conclusions is via your own personal experiences. Note that witnessing the experiences of others can count as your own. I imagine most people find some things about life to be sucky and other things about life to be awesome. I also imagine that many people have questions. Well so do I.
(Hint hint: This is a Philosophy thread.)
EDIT: I just posted this in Game Design when I meant to put it in General Discussion. NOW WHAT?

Why is "The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past" such a great game?
What is your biggest question in life?
See I'm the opposite. I ask myself that same question and usually I come up with loads of reasons why I'm not the main character. I'm just an extra, or side character at best.
The existence of everyone else as a distinct self is definitely there: otherwise they'd not be as interesting as they all are. But the main characters in life are the people who are out doing things or having things thrust upon them. In every great story the important people are those who've got stuff going on, for better or for worse, and are the people who the story focuses on. As that's where the reader/viewer/player gets their morbid jollies.
And I just don't see myself as a person others could get invested in, I guess. Or that's my rationale at any rate. On the positive side, because I see myself as completely uninteresting I see everyone else in the world as very interesting and complex.

Under-Rated Games People Should Play
author=Jawnsunn
Just going to throw this in.
Mr. Gimmick/Gimmick!
This game is, hands f'ing down, the best game on the NES.
It has a kickass soundtrack, radical art direction, unique enemies, and
physics.
PHYSICS MAN. IN AN NES GAME! WOOOOAAAAAHHHHH!!!!
If you played this game all the way through, which I recommend, it's a freaking blast.
What he said.
Plus this game actually has ENEMY AI. No enemy is the same graphically, yes, but neither are they in their actions. Examples:
-Black blobs that shoot arrows at you when you're on the same point on the y-axis as them.
-Foxes that will actively avoid the stars you can throw AND you coming after them.
-Little devil guys that work together to attack you by flanking and keeping you in-between them.
-A furry creature that wishes you no harm at all, but rather chases after the stars you throw.
-A boss that attacks you when you back away, but will back away himself if you approach.
Honestly though, the reason you should play this game isn't because it's technically impressive, but because of how much thought the designers put into every level. There's things that are in this game for NO OTHER PURPOSE than to give you the warm fuzzies.
Best of all, despite being utterly cute and adorable its pretty difficult at times, and has a bit of a learning curve. Plus its short! I don't think it's the best game on the NES but it is terribly underrated. Mainly because no one knows about it, I think.
GO PLAY THIS GAME. ITS FUN.
