Also I'm sure we can probably accuse people of being scum/lead a bandwagon.

Scum has little incentive to lead a bandwagon or make a commotion: Because all votes are cast in secret, town doesn't have a ballot to pressure mafia with.

So I propose this: We should announce who we're going to vote for like in regular mafia and then the challenge of this game is going to be in figuring out who lied and who stuck with their vote. Liberty's going to provide the vote scores, just not the names.

If we announce our intentions then that gives us back some control over the game.

Oh wait no I didn't read the rules again just kill me now. People with powers just can't say anything at all, then.

So information is going to be really hard to come by in general.

I'm sorr y i'm late i m still kinda tumbi-tummil-t-ttumblin' out of the bar there. HIC.

My main concern today is trying to figure out what the mafia can do for leverage. The null vote states that the passer can't divulge who they passed it to, until that person no longer has it. But the person who does have it can tell everyone on that same day, as I understand it. So that might create some opportunities for mafia to try and get someone innocent killed.

What would RMN theme song sound like?

I was just reminded that this exists https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A43JOxLa5MM

When he finished, he seemed so surprised!

Context is Everything

I don't want to argue with people regarding the amount of playtime someone "needs" to make to write a review of a game... AGAIN. -_-

I personally try to only review games that I've completed or come damn close to at least half-way through. But that's only out of trying to keep a sense of integrity. Its probably not a good strategy because I have hardly written any reviews.

I don't think there's anything wrong with writing a review that gives your first impressions of a game. First impressions are very important: If its bad, then that means improvements can and should be made. This is good stuff to know as a developer.

A good game is like a catchy beat. If the song has a good hook, you'll be more inclined to see where its going before changing the station.

RMN BossRush ---CLOSED---

Its not just the plague mask its the wide brimmed hat. ITS AWESOME.

Thank you for doing this, riderz! It must have been a ton of work!

All I want is some bricks to disappear when the boss dies, but that seems really unnecessarily hard to do.

  • Create your layer (CTRL-L) and name it something sensible like 'bossBridge' or what have you.
  • Click on the layer name to select it and then place down the bricks you want in the layer (this can be a bit tricky because the editor often resets your selected layer to Default, but you layer name will show up by the cursor when it is selected; that way you know).
  • PROTIP: The editor is obscure about this and it took me ages to figure out -- in the Layer menu, if you un-check a layer, it will stay that way once you save the level. So for instance, if you wanted a layer of blocks to appear when the boss is killed, you need only uncheck that layer and it will stay disappeared when you play the level. You don't need to have an event to turn the layer off or anything.
  • Now the hard part. Bring up the Events tab (CTRL-E) and create a new event. The event is what will act upon the layer so name it something sensible like 'bossDeath' since that's what will trigger the layer to dissappear.
  • Select your new event, and with the lists in the tab, you can trigger your layer to disappear when that event activates. Adding an appropriate sound effect is usually a good move too.
  • Finally you have to set your boss NPC to trigger the event. So you pick him up and somewhere in the NPC menu (I've forgotten) there is an Events button you click. That will bring up a list of trigger conditions. Go to 'Death' and in the dropdown list of the level's events, you select 'bossDeath' and you're all done.

...Yep, that's a crapload of steps for something so simple. But believe me, once you get the hang of it - it goes a lot faster.
