You know what's be great? If homework would just... go away.
Dude fucking physics. Its horrible. I feel for you.
I'm only in general physics and that alone is killing my brain. EVERYTHING IS A VARIABLE, and the teacher refuses to explain shit. "Numbers are not important in physics, its easier if you think of everything as a variable. Numbers are only confusing, because you'll lose track of what number is supposed to represent what."
Okay dude, that's a fair point. Fine. But:
FUCKING SERIOUSLY.
And then when he pulls out actual numbers they seemingly come from nowhere. Like he pulled them out of his ass.
We're literally talking about relativity and he does not seem to understand why relative numbers are important in understanding math!!

Okay dude, that's a fair point. Fine. But:
Ax = R1 + R2
R1 = (X2-X1) + (Y2 - Y1)
Rf = R2 = Tan (R1) * |Ax|

You get a milion dollars, but...
Mario Maker Super Thread
Here is a level I made that doesn't completely suck:
Potatoes for Lunch: B430-0000-0045-BF8A
Those SMW Goombas have never really been goombas because they don't squish when you jump on them. So I always call them Potatomen.
I've found that its really hard to make levels that are fun and memorable. I'm making good levels technically, but few of them are actually so fun that you'd want to play it a second time. Gonna keep working at it.
I'm very glad that the stage lengths are kept short. The nature of Mario Maker and it's online play means that the shorter your stages are, the better it is. Since there are so many other levels to get out there and play.

It appears I am a member of the grammar police in made up language too.
I spy a new site tagline.
The best tutorial in gaming is good level design.
Good visual design like in those videos is trickier to do in a medium that is primarily text based. RPGs don't have a ton of mobile elements and are mostly menus half the time. So yeah, contextualized button-presses warrant someone to explain that to you.
Of course there's smart ways and dumb ways of explaining tutorial junk. I swear we had a thread about it a year ago or so.

I wanna make a game about a goose and a human police officer that likes to solve mysteries and crack down on crime
Okay. That's it. I pre-ordered Mario Maker.
"the Godiva of Wingfield" - On a scale of "eh" to "I would literally sacrifice children to play this," how interesting is this title?
If you make the title plural and change the name of the place. The Godivas of Windfeld for instance. The intrigue levels sky-rocket where before it was only "meh."
Makes it sound like a 19th century period-piece that promises an adventure with a rich family history with lots of drama between multiple characters and the hangups our main protagonist has to deal with regarding their dubious family history. And that's good stuff. Also the more natural-sounding place name makes it seem like a place and not two words put together.
It goes from "That looks neat." to "I want to play this and see what its about." At least for me.
