Tactical Battle System Movement

I would totally pay you to do one of these for my game I am making.

School Tileset

I am trying to make a game about school and high school life. However, every single tileset I have doesn't have the proper desks, chairs, cafeteria, and other things school related. Anyone capable of making these? If so, please PM me. Willing to pay.

Willing to pay for help

I would like the assistance of a very good spriter to create some modern tilesets for a gae I want to do. I want modern tilesets so any help is appreciated. By the way I want 2003 tiles.

I like the world map myself. As far as the north being snowy, nothing wrong with that either. Good job if you ask me, but I do see the points people are making.

My avatar is beautiful.

I still don't quite understand what you're talking about with the photo editing thing, you will need someone a little more versed on photo editing for that.

As far as the escape thing, you just need to make a common event that runs as a parallel process that waits for the key input of the escape keys (esc, 0, etc.) and make it so nothing happens after it's pressed.

Oh, and by engine, I meant what RM program you're using.

Thanks, you really helped a lot.

Also, just kidding with your avatar. I have no problem with people's lifestyles, just playing around with you.

First, it's really helpful is you provide us what program you are working in. Sometimes the solution to your problem will vary depending on the engine.

Second, I am not entirely sure what you are asking about in your first part of your post. As far as getting rid of the escape command, are you wanting to remove it completely or just make it so it can't be used? The former will likely require a patch, but the latter you can simply make all the battles inescapable. I'm not sure that is an option with the default random encounter system, but you can always create your own to remedy that.

First, what is up with your image? LOL!

I have been using Gimp and Photoshop but find that they neither have the option to select color groups like the Charas.ex. Have you messed around with Charas.ex? It has an import image option that allows for you to select color "groups" so that you can edit them, that way you don't have to worry about coloring one part then going back and coloring another that might match up.

The "escape" I am speaking of is the escape button. You press it to show your stats. Understand? I want to completely get rid of this option as people have done in the past. That way when I make custom menus I will not have that portion in the game as well.

Hopefully this helps, and hopefully you change that image, LOL.

Does anyone know of any color editor similar to that of Charas.ex, that can import larger pics? One that can choose color groups because Photoshop or Gimp seems to not be the same as it says select by color and then allows for one color at a time.

Also how do you get rid of the escape command in games, never attempted it. Is it simple and in game or do you need to get a tool for it?

Thanks

Perhaps if you had specific questions regarding what you want to achieve? I don't think anyone wants to map out entirely exactly how they did theirs. Besides that, there's definitely no single way to go about it.

I already said what i wanted, I want a simple tbs with a simple top down view. I have already started this but still having trouble with the switches, and the guy said he would go into detail.

TBS for RPG Maker 2003

Here's the link to Aurora Wing, the TBS made in Rm2k mentioned above. I haven't played it but people have raved about it: http://rpgmaker.net/games/42/images/306/

I made one for Tiamat Sacrament just to occupy myself with pushing the limits of the maker, and it's a hell of a lot of work. The tactical battles made up maybe 5% of the game though it took up 20% of its total development time. It was fairly simplistic and still not completely bug free.

It's possible and I could explain in greater detail how I did mine, but I'd take WolfCoder's advice if I were you.

Oh please explain in detail if you have the time. I will explain how I have tried so far. I use the main character as a cursor, I made 20 by 20 levels and used an event for each coordinate. That is 400 events but they will all be used for every battle, so it isn't as much work as it seems. However I use switches for each event to display each character and anything that goes on, changing graphics for every time magic is cast and someone attacks. Still not complete and has a ton of work but I just can't seem to get it all organized.

If you wanted to send the details to me in a message that would be fine also. Something easier would be cool.

Thanks, really.
