Obama RPG Disk 1 Is Out! GO GET IT! RAAAHHH!!!
I'll tell you what, I'm going to reupload the RTP version. before I uploaded the game I extracted the files and rezipped them, so maybe that was a problem? I won't do that next time.
Do me a favor and try downloading the re-uploaded version?
Man, I'm freaking out over here. Can ANYONE ELSE tell me if they're having problems, or if it's just Desmo? If it's just Desmo, it would make me feel somewhat better, but I'm flipping out, because I don't know what to do, other than what I just said.

author=Desmo360If everything goes smoothly, my Let's Play should begin tomorrow!
EDIT: Things stopped going smoothly as soon as I entered the first battle. Is there something I'm doing wrong?
Ooh, I don't like the look of that. I'm going to see if I can figure out what the problem is. You DO have the RPG Maker 2003 RTP, right?
Edit: I just downloaded it on another computer and tried it out, and it worked. Hmmm...You didn't use a save from a demo, right? What did you use to extract the files?
What I've Learned About Making A Game Through Obama RPG (And Other Sentiments)
Well, I'm hoping that the bug-ridden log is close to nothing when I release this baby. I'm searching every corner of the game, trying to do EVERYTHING that the player can do, so that there are as few bugs as humanely possible. With any luck, there will only be one or two bugs total, if any. I'm just hoping. But, I realize this is the beginning.
And while I appreciate the stupid user demands, one thing that is ABSOLUTELY not going to change is the story. Those are set in concrete. How I tell the story might change up a little bit, but I have everything already laid out, and if I change things now, it can ruin the entire rest of the story. Kind of a chain reaction type thing. I think the story is good as is, and you can recommend whatever you want for that, but I'm not going to change it. Characters are kind of set in concrete, too, but I might be swayed on a few things, there.
Oh, and in regards to your bit about Obama being humble, he kind of develops in that direction. So you might see a more humble Obama later on. Just so you know. (I actually mention that in this article, I think)
Anyways, we'll see what happens.

What I've Learned About Making A Game Through Obama RPG (And Other Sentiments)
Let me tell you, I am busting my butt right now to get this first disk out before midnight. I'm coming across so many bugs to iron out. Man, I am VERY glad I decided to play through it one more time. It could have been a disaster.

Congrats on having this featured in RMN's frontpage What's Written section! Now, if only your game turns out to be as good ...
Whoa, man. Don't get me nervous, now. Heh, heh.
I'm doing the best I can, and like I say, hopefully the feedback I get on the first part will really help with the mindset I have going into the second part. I'm aiming for a lot of laughs, and I like to think that I'll get a lot of laughs out of you guys. So, we'll see what happens.
Obama RPG Disk 1 Releases Tomorrow
Another post right quick. Sorry about the delay in getting it up. It's going to be up late tonight. I've had to fix quite a few things, actually, and I made one big addition (of a narrator) that I think everyone will enjoy.
But, while I could be done in an hour or two, I have to go somewhere, tonight, so I won't be back to get it finished and uploaded until late. Sorry about that. Never fear, it'll be here before midnight tonight, so I won't have lied about the release date. Muahaha!

Obama RPG Disk 1 Releases Tomorrow
Uh...I feel like if I say 5 hours I'm overexaggerating.
But I don't know. A good few hours, at least. If I had to guess I'd say 4-5, but like I say, I don't want to say it's more than it really is. Obama RPG isn't meant to be a 70 hour RPG, so whatever. I'll be making an announcement about the second episode's rough release date as soon as I get the first one up, so hopefully you'll see more gameplay soon enough.
But I'd love to see a Let's Play of it! Someone made a Let's Play of a game I made (and lost) many years ago, and I still like looking at it from time to time. I know it helps spread the word, and it's fun to see what a player's thinking while they play. So, by all means, go for it.
Speaking of which, I'm getting close to finishing episode 1. Everything is theoretically done (except I just remembered one thing I wanted to do, so I'm going to go do that quick before I forget, again). I just want to go for a quick runthrough on easy mode to make sure that everything's set up there, because there are a few boss fights I had to tweak for easy mode (because of how you win the fight). Oh, and I want to take some music out that I thought I'd use in the first episode, but I didn't, since that can pile on to the file size. Otherwise, I'll have this up ASAP.

Obama RPG: Magical Quest 3 HD - Future Legend of Superhuman President Starring Barack Obama
Oh, you'll see Michelle sometime in the game. Believe me, I haven't forgotten about here. But I don't want to spoil anything.
Kanye Quest 3030 Released!
Downloading it right now! This is going to be sweet!
Edit: Heh, wow. You know you're in for a tough ride when the first enemies I fight paralyze me at full health and proceed to pummel me to death. Looks great so far.

What I've Learned About Making A Game Through Obama RPG (And Other Sentiments)
Yes, of course. That's one I didn't think of that I should have included. Definitely backing up projects is a must. In fact, besides that very first RPG I made, the only RPG I still have is one that I backed up (which is actually a half-decent RPG, although it's missing the ending, because I neglected to back up the final version, which really sucks).
Yeah, testers might be good for some people, but I for one don't really care to have testers. Just a personal preference. Closest thing I have to it is that I play through everything I make from the beginning as if I were the player, but that should be common sense. I'm not so concerned about certain parts of my work that I feel the need to bug other people to play it. But I would recommend it for other people if you're seriously hurting for some feedback.
Actually, speaking of preference, one thing I'm going to drop here is that if players don't like the gameplay or just want to hear the story, I want to cater to them, too, so I'm going to include an easy mode into Obama RPG that jumps everyone up a bunch of levels. That way, people can cruise through the game and just enjoy the story. I think it can be beneficial to cater to those kinds of people, too, since I've played RPGs where I didn't want to force myself through the difficult gameplay, but the story was really good, and I felt like I was stuck.
Edit: Actually, forget it. I'd like to make a thing where you can take off easy mode whenever you want, but that's a problem, because you'll retain your skills from leveling up, and I can't really change that without some very complex coding, which kind of defeats the purpose.
