I'm pretty sure using/having RTP resources isn't the issue. Consider EpiQuest and it's 4,600-ish downloads. It has been a while since I've played that game, but it clearly uses RTP resources. What brought people to that game is... well, I'll be looking at it again to see what, exactly, brought people to it. Of course, what I'm aiming for and what that game was aiming for are different, but I might be able to take some lessons from it.

I'll admit that the title screen could be changed to something more appropriate, but it has a very low priority. Mostly because I'm not sure I have the skills to put what I envision there.

I'm not sure if I can "fix" the beginning of the game for action-oriented gamers (such as Fragmasters). I see no opportunity for a "big bang" opening for this game at all. While I'll agree that dropping players with little direction is never a good sign, I'm not seeing how else I can do it. Unless I present the game as something of a flash-back, where the screen turns black (or goes into graytones) at certain moments while the narrator has his or her say? That may give a bit more back-story, but I can't see how that would be more engaging to players in general.

Phalath Review

They (the pictures) are a little disruptive to the flow of the review, yes.

Other than this, it doesn't seem too bad? I don't know. I'm disrupted by the pictures!

Are savestates cheating?

(But I more abused the hell out of the super speed function though.)

The ` key is my best friend on ZSnes. I virtually Control + A every encounter I come across. Then again, I use save states to cheat in order to be powerful enough to do that...

Fun fact: Control + A was how I auto battled in Might and Magic. On the Commodore 64!

The Perfect Debate

I could be wrong, but shouldn't a "perfect" debate always end in a draw? Perhaps I'm merely thinking in terms of opinionated subjects (i.e. "should" questions rather than "could" questions).

In terms of this debate, couldn't we call this a draw? I might not have perfect knowledge of the skills/abilities of either Goku or Silver Age Superman, but their power levels (OVER 9000!?) seem about equal to me.

I dunno. As I said, my knowledge is not perfect for this particular debate. My conclusion can very well be thrown out the window by a more knowledgeable debater.

Matsumori Days

A new demo/beta-ish is up! This version will have the graphical update I mentioned. The dungeon design still seems a little spare in places, but I think there's a bit of improvement from previous versions.

The Astonishing Captain Skull Review

I would recommend it to most anyone, be they man or wolf, and am confused as to why it did not get more attention.

My sediments exactly! Well, I don't know about the wolf part, but who's keeping track?

Favorite dungeon music GO.

I'm such an idiot. How could I forget this:

Or this:

Battle system updates and suggestions

Maybe one way to do it would be to have cover give you a % chance of gaining a counter and that chance raises as the level of mastery rises.

That sounds better, actually. I'm not exactly sure what the highest counter-rate should be in this scenario, but I doubt you want it to be 100%.

Charsets with pictures

Those look like the beginnings of a character set to me. Perhaps you mean something else?

Battle system updates and suggestions

It seems kind of overpowered to combine both counter and cover, especially if the person using it has Regen.

How about if you disallow Regen if the counter-cover reaction is used? Or make Regen a reaction onto itself? As in you take damage as per normal, but regenerate a certain amount according to the character's DEF value?

Where did I get these ideas from? Seriously, this is right of the top of my head!
