Christmas Greetings!

Haha, I still have 7, but we open our main presents and stuff on Christmas Eve night, so I'm still kinda caught up with you guys.

Working Out. Also: Stats. Get off your ass and join in!

I'm finally getting a gym membership (actually as one of my Christmas presents!) and so I'm ready to go head on over after school everyday, or close to it. Mmmm no more working out in my garage! I guess I'll post "stats" sometime later

Video Game Purchases

Honestly, I haven't bought a game for myself in quite a while. I seriously think the latest game I bought was SSBB, and pretty much everyone knows about Brawl, so I don't really need to explain anything about it . That was a few months ago. I've been trying to cut back on the buying and beat the games I haven't. Left 4 Dead and Mother 3 weren't exactly bought *shrugs*

On another note, I bought my brother Resistance for the PS3 since he's getting one from his girlfriend so that's technically the most recent game I've bought. Don't know much about it other than the world is being invaded by aliens and you get awesome weapons etc., which it was also made by insomniac which is a company that has never let me down before. I've also heard nothing but good things about it, so we'll see what happens.

What annoys you in a game?

I dislike it whenever games ask me completely un-needed questions, like in Res4 whenever it asks me if I want to pick up ammo... of course I want to pick up ammo, why wouldn't I want the bullets used to kill what is trying to kill me?

EDIT: 300 posts

I've made an interesting observation; how you look correlates into how you can wear clothes and how 'fashionable' you are. People with 'bad' physiques have a hard time looking good with almost anything, and have to work harder to do so. However, I've noticed that people with top physiques can wear almost anything and get away with it, and some are called good dressers with good taste in clothes, with little effort.

Talk about extra incentive.

It is because clothes are made from patterns for people with good physiques, not for pudgy people.

Yeah, I don't think I've ever seen a fat mannequin. *shrugs*

Due to the resurfacing of a multitude bugs I eliminated back in NOVEMBER...

Seriously Chaos, (and don't take this negatively, just constructive criticism) You are building WAAAAAY to much hype for this game, and then you release a demo in which every person who plays it finds really simple bugs like the missing of files. Do you ever test your own game? because that would save so much time for people considering they have to keep redownloading the game over and over. I can understand a few bugs here and there, but I'm not even willing to try this game because I feel like it's just an infestation. Maybe whenever you get it done and I stop seeing "I found such and such bug here IN THE BEGINNING" I'll play it! Just slow it down a tad so you can stop making such simple mistakes, nobody here is rushing you man.

Internet persona vs "Real life" persona

Found it!

But it was two months ago, so I guess it's okay.

There's nothing difficult about downloading RTP one time, and this is coming from someone with the crappiest dial-up around.

What if the user doesn't know? They download the game, open it, and get "You need X to play this game!". So to play a game that they have they need to get more shit, find it, wait for that download to finish, install it, and hope that there isn't a Y required (thankfully there isn't in RPG Maker land).

Making a game stand alone isn't difficult and if you already put days of work into developing your game why would you turn away potential players by not making a stand alone version?

Here's another reason: The user doesn't have access to install the RTP. I play games on my University's computers where I don't have access to install anything. It doesn't matter when a game is standalone: I plug in the flash drive, copy the game to my user storage, and start playing. Its simplicity itself!

Very rarely does something like that happen to where someone has to download something twice to play something. Still, RTP is a one time thing for people who aren't using a University's computer to play games instead of studying and typing research papers :P

I am with Neok 100%. Making it as easy as possible for someone to start playing a game should be a goal of any developer. Making it difficult to start playing the game will not draw any players to your game, just repel them.

On a related note, everybody please don't use any of those damn installers. I'd like to be able to download a ZIP, extract it to a folder, and start the executable and start playing. There's no need for any of the installers and they're all terrible anyways.

Questions you always wanted to ask other members, but felt too lazy or awkward to do so.
