I mean, who makes asteroid like shooters anymore? Indie games brought them back. Not completely back, but it has thousands of people downloading the games.

Yes, I do agree indie games are becoming popular. But indie games are helping bring back old genres that have otherwise faded. Those games on XBL for instance.

This is indeed true, but that doesn't stop the simple fact that most people pay attention to Sub-genres in general.

Board (There are bard based video games like monopoly.

Strategy
Puzzle
I suppose racing would be under action.I guess there will be the occasional game made every now and again that could be called a wargame, but I don't think anyone in its marketing will even call it that anymore
Well, as stated, this genre has faded.
Can you explain why, based on my explanations on those two genres? I am curious what your thought process was behind it. Unless you simply forgot them.
I suppose board would be strategy, but would Puzzle be strategy? Than again, Monopoly is a board game and it depends on luck. So that barely uses as much strategy as luck. So where do they both go?
