How was the Demo?

Okay I gave this a whirl and I thought I would let you know what I think.

First off you need to put the contents of your game into a single folder and name it "Super Puzzle World" or something so that you can easily put it into the SMBX "worlds" folder.

Second thing is you left a save file in there... you'll want to get rid of that.
A couple of levels do not have music at all.
And some of the levels are a bit short.

Now onto the levels... in Alphabetical order.

- Battlefields - Basic SMB3 level.

- Ice Climbing - Interesting idea for a level but waaayyyy to short, I beat it in less than ten seconds.

- Obstacle Course - This lava / obstacle level was cool, very nice level design and it fit good with the music.

- Puzzle Plank - Some of the movements of the platforms were a bit stiff. Good use of the switches and what not. Not bad.

- Stack Attack - Interesting idea for a puzzle level. Again, way too short.

- Wild Climb - Basic level.

- Wooden Valley - Again basic SMB3 level, not much to say.

- Yoshi Hills - This level wasn't bad, however there is an unlimited 1up glitch if you stand on the pipes generating the enemy's.

looks kind of muddled... background colors should be less saturated than foreground(enemies/surfaces the character can interact with)

Background is fine, just fix the foreground.

Your maps might be too big with too many events, try splitting your maps up. The way I used to do it when I had a big map was take the map, copy and paste it, then delete one half of one map, then the other half of the other map then link them both up and etc.

*EDIT*
Also you might be able to submit this into the forums under "Help & Requests". Just don't mention that it's about your game make it about the VX engine in general.

*2nd EDIT*
Haha never mind, I see you have already done that.
The map is 20x25. Not to big, but how would I "Split it Up?"

Well if your map is that small then chances are it's not the map that is the problem. Again I would copy your game file and keep experimenting with removing scripts and events on your back-up game until you find what is slowing it down. Keep in mind that common events can slow down a game also.

Congrats! This will be my FIRST Let's Play!
Well then I'll have to watch it. Let me know when you upload.
The link is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7oByBD3YISI

I see you've already found it, but I posted the link for anyone else who wanted to see this. The quality in the first two videos is bad, but it's in High Definition from the third video on!

Good maybe you can tell me how to get the key in the ghost house, cause I still can't figure it out.

If your white whale is a videogame/record/film/possession then you need to get out more...
what do you mean?

He means it's better to have loved and lost, then never to have loved at all.

Lag Fix in VX

author=prexus
Anaryu's anti-lag won't help, either

The anti-lag scripts help on large maps by not rendering the events outside of the map focus, and not checking for them for things like 'on touch'.

I don't think RMVX is your best bet for making a Pac-Man game unless you are going to use scripting to do it. The event system is not designed for that sort of usage.

You can't expect him to just stop making the game after all the progress he has made.

try to make a big map on a blank project (without scripts)

if you can make a 50x50 ~ 100x100 map and run around without lag, try to copy your events to the new project. If it's still without any lag

then make a copy of your project (backup) and delete EVERY script you have, try again to walk in the same map...

if you get no lag, then the problem lies in a script you're using, if you still have lag, the problem is on a parallel process event (be it common event or the events in the map)

this will take 5~10 mins and you'll know what is lagging your game

ps: if the problem is with your scripts, I suggest to take out one by one until the game stop lagging
