Summer Screenshot Spectacular!

@meh_ch:
Can't think of much constructive things to say, but it does look nice and pleasant. c:

@archerrin:
I really like the feel of the smooth look you're going for there. The RTP components do stand out as being overly textured in comparison, though; perhaps lowering their contrast/halfing their palette might help.

Summer Screenshot Spectacular!

Looks pretty fantastic, and the occasional switch to platform mode is pretty nifty. The window skin looks a tad unfitting to me though, as it feels pretty high tech-ish compared to the rest of the game. By the way, for 0:18 - 0:20, was the illuminated effect done by an overlay or the edit of the actual tileset?

(And thanks; I'll post a video of game-play for that system when I get it done.)

Summer Screenshot Spectacular!

WIP of a little underwater mini-game; hoping to make it some sort of a cross between platform and shooter. Just got the shooter coding down at the moment but haven't decided on what to do with the platform aspect yet (will probably just go the generic mario-esque route):

The air bar is both the HP and the Ammo bar. When you get hit, you lose a minute of air supply. When you shoot an air bolt that can paralyze a target for 10 seconds, you lose 5 seconds of air supply per bolt. Air supply can be replenished slowly when you're positioned at any of the weedy plants underwater, or when you surface (but I'll have to find a way to restrain surfacing any time somehow).

( Oops, misclicked. :< Please delete this post. Thanks! )

[Resource] Electronic BGM

Thanks deadra. The lead synth is a mod of "CS80 Lead1", or so it says; not sure if that helps though, heheh.

[Resource] Electronic BGM

I gave an attempt at writing a short electronic BGM earlier, and figured it wouldn't hurt to post it here in case someone'd find some use for it - I haven't posted any new songs in a while anyway. It's experimental and I'm still trying to get familiar with the genre, but here it is:

Slum Chase:

Some parts are a bit empty as it stands now, and I might go back and add some things in the future. Free for use in non-commercial projects; credit goes to Reives. Hope ya enjoy, feedback appreciated.

External sources for game download.

This is somewhat trivial, but I think it might be nice to give the option of using an existing download source when creating a download for a game rather only being able to upload one. It doesn't even need to give the link of the original source. It'd save the site some bandwidth, and make it more convenient for those who have a direct download source where they can replace the file with fixed versions and the like in one place.

Again, quite trivial, but just putting it out there.

Hey look it's RMN3!

Mark me impressed. I also like how you can now add a lot more to the games' descriptions pages rather than just text.

Edit:
Oh, I can't seem to PM people who have spaces in their names (it seems to separate it into 2 names).

Lyra's Melody - The Song She Whispered to Me

That's true with the subtitle. Back then it was going to be named "Silent Melody", which I thought might've been too generic for search engines so I added the follow-up. But after it was renamed, it's probably no longer needed. . . Kinda grew on me though, heheh.

There is gameplay, a lot more gameplay than Quintessence actually (or at least it's going to be) - but I might not include a battle system and have the gameplay consist solely of minigames and puzzles. In this brief demo, however, there's only one real minigame (+ exploring and the like).

Lyra's Melody - The Song She Whispered to Me

Hopefully indeed! *crosses fingers* The demo is very brief though, so not much with that story side of things is dramatized yet.
