2007 Misaos
Those aside, I think it is utterly ironic to complain about the number of a certain side showing up - which, by the way, is still minuscule in comparison to the overall members on either side.
Instead of being bitter about the one side actually participating in the event as intended, perhaps it'd be good realizing that the whole phenomenon was because the lack of participation on the other side even when given the opportunity to start with. Calling wrong to someone/community for participating as intended just because oneself decided to sit on the couch and complain afterwards, is just like sit there and starve then complain that the restaurant didn't walk to you.
Which is why I find

(I tried to like rmxp.org. I really did. But the LOLEBAY LAST-MINUTE MISAO RUSH is just lame, guys :<)preposterously laughable. Not that I am saying that all the awards are suddenly perfectly righteous on an omniscient level, but it's a matter of one side doing their part and the other side didn't. It would sit well if just left at that understanding, but God knows why it's easier to blame the others.

I find it funny how for the past years where rmxp was not presented, no one said a thing; and this year people actually show up, and it's called a Misao rush. Same thing goes out to the non-rmxpers in the past years, with that logic? And sorry for participating, I suppose?
With these kind of things, there will always be complaints and there will always be disagreements - just as there will always be an uneven amount of participants by nature.
One's taste is poor to another, just as another's taste is poor to one. Perhaps the right thing to do instead, is to make the people with the same taste care enough to participate? And if you feel that it is all just public bandwagon, then why not be a high brow yourself and not care? The important thing is to realize that none of us or you are righteous in whichever way that may apply here, and it is a tendency for the raw human ego to judge skeptically as a result of these things.
And by the above message, I am not saying whether some awards are deserved or not - but things turned out the way they did, so let it be, however its driving force were and how disagreeable they might be to some. There will be disagreements and complaints for these things no matter what the result is, as people's preferences and whatnot are not universally uniform.

Quintessence - The Blighted Venom
Thank you for your time. Just know that this is, none the less, story-oriented - the first 2 chapters are pretty much interactive cut-scenes, as game-play doesn't start until the 3rd. The quality of the chapters from general consensus goes something like this: Chapter 6 > 5 > 4 > 3 > 1 > 2
Here are a few screenshots and a video from a Chapter 6.5 demo I am releasing in a few days. It contains transformation system as well as its implementation in battle. This will help increase the game-play aspect that it currently lacks of in early chapters.

Story:
The story, as well as its presentation, are the areas that were primarily focused on in this project. The directing and story-telling style is influenced by Elfen Lied, for those who are familiar with it (nothing explicit is in here however; the influence is simply the directing style). While I have never been keen on posting a summary of the plot or characters (and I do understand that this bothers some people), I will say that the genre is fantasy, drama, arguably romance, and all that generic category stuff; which doesn't say much.
Overall, this is indeed a story-focused project above all else. With the help of carefully choreographed and attempted pseudo-cinematic cut-scenes as well as over 400 face-pictures and a metaphorically constructed custom soundtrack composed by the designer himself with involvement in the actual plot itself, story and characters are valued above all.
Game-play:
In the past, game-play has not been a focus in the project. However, with this new release, the intro and chapter 1 has been thoroughly revamped and much improved - including the inclusion of much game-play. From puzzles to its custom battle system, game-play is an aspect that has certainly began to sink in.

I am also very surprised how the rmxp.org community rose up in voting population this year, as opposed to the opposite phenomenons in the past years.
Anyhow, thanks again for your time and effort, and giving us some opportunity to share some light. This seems like quite a homey and friendly community as well, I might get settled myself here in the near future. :)
