Well we don't know the whole story. And having played this and written a review for it, I find it rude you say nobody said anything about the story at all.
Of course, if you are talking about revised version nobody has ever seen, then naturally nobody can comment on it.

I will be frank - you are asking for feedback, and you have gotten a lot of feedback, but you are not good at digging deeper and utilizing it to the best of your abilities. The story and writing needed some work. And while I understand the desire to quietly work away until it's done, if that is what you had been doing before and you got just a rough outline on what needs to be improved .. you are in the same spot as you were creating the story that needed touch-ups in the first place.
Short: you are likely to make the same mistakes.
Just presenting your ideas and examples - and feedback - for open dialogue to see what you can do about it could be a great potential help. I, for one, would have loved to talk about things in detail, but if there are no questions asked, there are none to answer.

This blog, too, reflects that attitude - you are asking us if we think changing the story is a good idea (or not since you already came to a conclusion by yourself). You are not saying what you consider changing, what you consider it to be instead, what you are planning to do. We see nothing. Not seeing one or the other, there is no way to give anything but vague ideas and general advice. Give details and ideas and you can get concrete feedback.
Just leaving that here. I might very well irritate you, but I mean well. And I think it is important.
