Current version is 2017.1 and version 2017.2 is being released by months end (supposedly)
Also payment is now under a subscription model, you could go plus for $35/mo but the 2D assets you would getting for free is pretty nice.

DragonBall Z: Saiyajin Legend
author=InfectionFilesauthor=EgyLynxExcept it's gonna be better
Hmm... Sound like Legacy of Goku first, at that III style...
It doesn't look like the step up from the first LOG game to the 2nd, and III was just a refinement.
The contrast between the sprites and tiles is a bit well... hope to see new tiles in the future :)
News, Yay!
It still looks like LOG edits to me and I've done plenty of custom LOG and other Dragon Ball sprites.
Widescreen is the way to go but personally adding a 21:9 option wouldn't be that much more difficult, might be the oddball for having a 21:9 monitor but honestly...I can work on 10 sprites at once! (I don't...but I could)
Really not a fan of the tiles, personally don't think it fits and Dragon Ball is a vibrant series, I hope it's a placeholder for something better to come. I'm not great with tiles myself... I usually just stick to sprite work.
Good Luck!

RPG Maker 2003
It was pretty hard to take the nostalgia glasses off when I purchased it on steam, would have been great if they added features to it besides releasing it in English while yes I understand the legality of why it was released I personally just didn't see the point... I legally bought RPG Maker 2003 from Japan and had it translated, many users did that.
RPG Maker MV announced for PC and MAC
I'm just glad everything and everything is editable, so yaaaaaaay!
But, jesus... I go away for like a week and this topic went crazy!

They flat out say that the res can go up to above 1080x720. Maybe read the announcement.
Resolution can be changed with a simple script, there's already a beta 1080p plugin in the works.

author=Gleasonauthor=JosephSeraphWe'll be able to turn individual scripts on and off, they're adding A PLUGIN MANAGER
ooooooohh!!! Javascript!
I don't know... I'm excited. I'm not sure if it's as powerful as rubi, but it probably is more so.
It's going to really be as much of a turning point as XP, the biggest turning point in the rpg maker series, was!
brb digging through the attic for my old javascript book
hopefully plugins can be used to change the default tile size, that would be god send!
Also... signed up kindle unlimited and filled it with javascript books.
RPG Maker MV announced for PC and MAC
Some new info was released, and apparently javascript is the new scripting language!

Oh, here's the official trailer.

This kinda makes me want to use RM again for RPGs at least, wonder if we can link outside libraries?
I wouldn't worry to much about the 48x48 grid, parallax mapping is still a thing, and if you wanted to you can forgo the editor and write your tilemaps entirely in javascript "if they don't force the editor on you that is"...
Pyxel Edit is a great program and pretty much used for tilesets, yea 48x48 worries me but it's easier working on 24x24 tiles and just scaling them up but having my main characters at native size well almost as some of my characters might reach 48x58, but standard size will generally be 32x58 for adults, 32x32 for kids and smaller sprites.

You'd think, but they're basically reusing packs released for ace, they're either redrawing them or just scaling them.
But then again there's that pesky NDA document they signed forbidding them to tell anything about the program unless otherwise announced information.

48x48 is what they said sprites and tiles will be, well charsets haven't been a problem since XP since you can use whatever size you want I just hope they used the same method for tilesets.
There's apparently not going to be a new RTP this time around.
What worries me is that they haven't said a darn thing about scripting, this is either because they're reusing RGSS3, using a new language, or RGSS4 isn't done yet.
