Spirits of Combination Village Review

Thank you for your review! I'm glad you enjoyed it enough to replay it so many times! I'm also glad that Pamchan does seem to be quite a fan favorite among people who have played through the game so far. She's also my favorite too, haha.

The mini-games at the end were definitely the parts that I had to spend the most of my debugging time with, which is why I did have to add the reset button to the Zane one so it could be beatable in the end. I'm glad you liked the different gameplay styles though, I do hope it added something unique to the visual novel genre. It was definitely my intention to try and put a twist on it!

Hey again! I gave the game a spin, and it was pretty cool. I like the main character (especially his walk animation ;3) and the gimmicks used for the puzzles. Does feel like a piece of a bigger picture overall, and that's a good thing. I myself like creating episodic games, so it's cool to see someone doing similar.

My only real hangup is that I brute-forced the final puzzle without realizing it was the final one, heh. Still, am looking forward to more of Mr Dude and from you.

Thanks so much for playing it, I'm glad you liked it! I appreciate your feedback as well, that's good to keep in mind for future projects.

And yeah this is actually part of a bigger story that I've been working on for almost 20 years at this point, so there's definitely a lot more to it, haha. All of my other games have characters from this story and someday I hope to release the entire story, since a lot of it is just written and not interactive yet, but I'm glad to hear you're interested in seeing more :)

Thanks! Oh yes, I'm looking to play some more, it was short but really unique... uhm and for me it was also a challenge, I mean I am not a native english speaker, so while I am used to reading a lot, listening to a registration is a totally different experience.
Anyway I am also curious to play Complex.net then!

That's awesome that you were able to play through it all things considered. I'm looking forward to hearing what you think about Complex.net! Most of the games I've finished are for Global Game Jams so they will mostly be fairly short like this one, but hopefully they're fun regardless!

I once had an idea like this concept, where a player would listen to an MP3 player to trigger paranormal stuff in a town.

That is to say, this game seems super cool and I've got to play it someday. :o

That sounds like a fun idea you have, I could definitely see that concept working really well, especially for a paranormal game! And thank you, I'd love to hear what you think about the game once you play it :)

Thank you so much for your detailed review! I'm so glad you had fun and are interested in learning more about the story. This game is actually based on a tiny portion of our much longer series that we've been working on for years (called The Nays), so we hope to someday release the full story to the world where you can learn more about the background of what's really going on here.

This is great feedback overall, and definitely something we'll keep in mind for our future shorter projects, since I understand it can be confusing to be dropped right in the middle of the story without a lot of background explanation leading up to it. We spent a lot of time on the art and programming for this game, so I'm glad those parts paid off in the end though. :)

Hey, tried this buuuut I cannot start the game since says that it cannot open file #129! Dunno which file it is, surely not RTP since I have them installed...

Thank you for reporting this! It looks like it had to do with version 1.12a, since I originally made this on an older version, so some of the Database info was missing. After some changes, it should work, but unfortunately, my custom title screen isn't working with this new version, so I'll need to look into that still at some point.

It should be fully playable now though if you download the new version!
