Characters with personalities are nothing new, but this is a change from the blank slates the older version of the game had. It's weird to think that this is an old change, in my mind, because I made the shift sometime in summer of 2020, but this page hasn't gotten the updates yet.
You might notice that these three characters have class-related graphics (a Black Mage, Warrior, and Cleric). People who join your party will come set to one of the game's different classes, but you can still change them around by heading to the barracks. There's nothing to stop you from an all-Cleric challenge run. You can also change the names of these characters, if you want.

I'm not sure if this will solve your particuar problem, but the Steam version of VXA has cloud functions for its Steam Workshop integration, and I find that it causes a lot of unexplained headaches with project management so I highly recommend disabling it entirely.
If you're not using the cloud saves for anything, you can try turning it off through Steam by going to App Info > Betas > Original Version. This will make your copy no different than the vanilla version of VXA that you can get through RMWeb.
I don't want to come on too strong, but I love you.
I switched back to original version and the project loaded up. I don't even have any workshop assets in this project, so I have no idea why that worked, but it did. Now I just have to remember where I was at six months ago. Maybe I'll at least finish Chapter 4 now and get this thing out there.

There's no like button, so I'll just agree instead.
When will RMN get with the times? @kentona plz
author=Make_it_MagiKauthor=ScourgeThat's true! I also really like the RTP tileset, although I think it needs talent to make a good map out of it.
Thanks! Nothing wrong with good old RTP, in my opinion.
For sure! A lot of people, myself sometimes included, associate RTP with really crappy first games, but it's honestly a good set of tiles once you know how to work with it a little.
Hello!
Starlight Shoals
Glad you're back and working on this game still! I remember enjoying it when it first came up on the site. I'll have to check out the newest version when I'm done working on my own stuff.

Yeah, four figures for a single piece would be an astronomical price. While the art is certainly impressive, I've seen student art that approaches or surpasses it in quality and that was just done for a grade when I used to work at a university that had a game design program. Not a knock on Fabian at all; the examples I see are all fantastic. I would love to see some idea of pricing though! I'm on the hunt for facesets for a project.

I am using some redone XP characters, but I think the ones in the screenshots are all VX Mack and different variations and edits of that. Thanks for the compliment, Craze! I agree that I could use some additional clutter and adjusted tiles. Maybe I'll take the time to put a more complete tileset together if I decide to make something more of this project.
